They charged us gratuity without our knowledge so we double tipped and dodged all emails and calls to correct

Terrific addition to the neighborhood. Cracker thin, Grandma and Sicilian styles hit the mark. Still working out some early kinks - waits despite reservations, running out of multiple menu items, confused service - but friendly, accommodating attitude goes a long way. Looking forward to future visits!

We ordered New York style crust deluxe sausage & pepper pizza--10 out of 10--could not be better. We also ordered Grandma's style Humboldt Pie, and most of my party liked it equal to the NY style, enjoyed the spice level, combo and amount of toppings. Their Old Town location has a fun atmosphere, with a variety of seating options, friendly helpful staff, manager stopped by and we were able to lock up our bikes at a bike rack across the street. Definitely recommend!

Hands down the best pizza in Chicago. Nice bartenders, friendly people all over the staff, and just generally good vibes throughout. 10 out of 10 can recommend.

Professor Pizza is easily my favorite pizza in Chicago. We have no shortage of good options, but to be able to walk into one restaurant and please everyone with different crusts, which are all phenomenal is something unmatched in the pizza industry. What a pizzaiolo!

Reservation for 7pm, not seated until 7:35, service was poor, and pizza was underwhelming! Detroit style had way too much cheese, NY style crust was average. Would not return anytime soon.

It was our first time there and it was hopping. We shared a New York style pizza (they have several “dough” varieties) and it was tasty but not quite like a New York dough, which is foldable and chewier with less sauce, more cheese). We have been looking for a great place in Chicago with that NY crust but will still have to look. That said, the pizza was good and the service great. We will be back and try their cracker crust, which is the basic pie and some of the other options.

I REALLY wanted this pizza to be great... and it just wasnt. Now, to be fair, I got the New York style pizza. Maybe that is not his specialty. I would absolutely come back and try the Grandma style pie ... but the NY Style just was not it. The pizza was very floppy, very messy, and the crust was just not great. That being said - the service was very good, and I really liked the space and the atmosphere. I hope I can return and have a different opinion of the other styles of pizza that they sell.

There are different types of crust from thin to deep dish, our server suggested the grandma which was crusty and chewy. We shared a wedge salad which was very good. Professor Pilsner beer quite good. 👍

We’ve been Professor P supporters for years now (since the Instagram pop-up days and the Humboldt Park test kitchen) and couldn’t be more thrilled that he finally has his own spot! We got the mozzarella onion rings, garlic knots, and caprese salad as appetizers. All three were delicious and came out very quick. For pizzas, we asked if they could rush a cheese pizza for the kids (7, 4, and 2 years old), and they did it no problem even though we had an odd request (half without sauce). For the adults, we ordered a cracker thin and Detroit style. They were out of this world. The crust was perfect, the cheese and sauce were layered in ideal ratios, and the toppings were fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to go back for years to come and make it a regular place for our family’s pizza Fridays! Congrats Tony!

The service was excellent and the food delicious but very expensive for anything other than the standard crust. Paying for the grandma crust you get a focaccia type of crust with too few slices compared to the New York style. They should perhaps rethink this concept. Thanks.

Pizza was solid; carrot appetizer was tasty; music volume a little too loud; pizza took over 40 minutes to come out after ordering…they’ll need to address this moving forward. Has only been open a week. 4/19/24

We finally were able to try Professor Pizza after following on insta for a bit. Since it was our first time trying it out we went with a deluxe pepperoni Sicilian style pie and a New York style Humboldt park pie. Both were so delicious! Our service wasn’t the best. The server was very hard to hear and seemed a bit zoned out. We ordered a beer and a San Pellegrino. Both took a while for them to come out- beer can was room temp. San Pellegrino wasn’t the flavor I ordered. Desserts weren’t noted on the main menu either- we only found out there were some as we saw the paper/brouchure menus on our way out. All in all would recommend the pizza

We were a little disappointed after seeing PP appear on some best pizza lists and social media feeds. The flavors were decent but nothing to write home about. The worst part was the pizza just wasn’t hot so that was a deal breaker for me. Usually with pizza you’ve got to be careful it’s not too hot to burn the roof of your mouth. Anyway the concept of being able to choose from 5 types of crust is pretty neat and it is a new location so maybe given a little more time they’ll iron out that issue. The manager was very understanding and adjusted the check for us which was very nice.

Pizza was outstanding, and wine selection was great. Our server was helpful and knowledgeable, and the professor was gracious and welcoming. The all-gender restroom could have used more tending to.

We had the Deluxe Italian Sausage & Peppers pizza and Fried Mozzarella Onion Rings and they were both VERY delicious. The desserts were out of this world as well. I highly recommend visiting this place for lunch or dinner for SUPER yummy food. 5/5 stars!

Big fan of Professor Pizza. Very happy that a sit down restaurant opened. The apps and pasta are as good as the pizza. Will be returning many times.

It was opening night, so we get that things need to be figured out, and we expected that, but it was pretty rough. I know they’ll get it figured out though. Professor pizza always figures out great ways to get people great pizza.

Really great food! Pizza was incredible. The only hiccup was having to wait 20 minutes for a spoon after dessert came and service was a bit slow overall, but hopefully that's just an opening day thing that can be fixed

Pizza was good but other items (onion rings) were just meh. Came with 3 cold sauces which was odd. Cocktails were okay but not great. It was opening night so I understand working out the kinks but they didn’t have pizza stands which seems like a no brainer - couldn’t have 2 pizzas on the table at a time…

Professor Pizza is a fantastic addition to the neighborhood! On our recent visit, our table of 6 loved everything we ordered , especially the NY White Pie and the Mozzarella Onion Rings(yes you read that correctly). The NY style was perfectly crispy and the flavors were savory and sweet in the most perfect way. Closest thing I’ve had to a true NY slice in Chicago. The mozzarella onion rings really need no introduction, they’re just GREAT. New favorite appetizer in the city. The service was on point, drinks were delicious, vibe was cool and the soundtrack was funky in the BEST way. Looking forward to spending LOTS of time in here this Summer. 10/10 recommend.

This place is fantastic! The five different pizza crust styles make it a one-of-a-kind spot in Chicago. We opted for the cracker thin and grandma pie, which were both delicious, but I am excited to come back and try the Detroit style. Pro tip - order the tomato Martini.

I absolutely loved the oricchiette pasta! So good! And the cocktail menu was fun and everything was so well balanced. The antipasti has so many choices but you should definitely try the spinach dip and the fried onion mozzarella! I can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu!
