A Berg Hospitality Group original concept, Prime 131 is a live-fire steakhouse and sushi bar within a revamped industrial space at The Docks at Timbergrove. Evoking the electric ambiance of New York’s chic yet edgy Meatpacking District in the early 90s, Prime 131 ignites a fresh dining experience in Houston where the artistry of grilling takes center stage.

A protein-forward concept with Korean and Japanese influence, Prime 131 creates a completely unique meat experience where diners watch their meal be prepared on four central wood fire grills and two Josper charcoal ovens. In addition, a full sushi bar and four Korean barbeque style tables offer curated experiences featuring some of the most exclusive cuts in the world.

Korean Grill Top Dining Experience at Prime 131

Our four exclusive, Korean grill top dining tables are sized for parties of 4-6. We are happy to accept parties of 2-3 at our first seating (4-5:30pm) or last seating (anytime after 9:30pm), but please call 713.840.1553 to reserve it with our host as we do not accept online reservations for parties under 4 guests. A cancellation fee of $50/guest will be applied if your reservation is canceled within 24 hours of your reservation seating time. If your party arrives late or is incomplete more than 15 minutes past the reservation time, we will try our best to accommodate you but may need to expedite your dining experience or reschedule it in order to honor the next reservation on the table.

Awesome food and service. Our server Deja was super attentive and management came around twice to make sure everything was good.

Probably the best experience I’ve had in a while dining here. Food was wonderful service was wonderful on top of all that told the restaurant beforehand about a proposal I wanted to do for my girlfriend (now fiancé) and they helped me make the best of my proposal I would highly recommend anyone to come just for the overall experience, decor, and food.

Was the most amazing meal I had. Had the 8oz tenderloin with stuffed shells ricotta, chicken fried lobsters and Dinosaur bone marrow. All of it was worth it. Donnie our server was amazing and was very informative and helpful in our decision, which we used the website menu to see what all the food looked like. The sushi rolls were delicious and my favorite the cast iron skillet ice cream on top of cookie crust on top of a brownie. Definitely worth the price was 10s all around. The hospitality was amazing from hostess, bartenders (Alex), as well as I assume the manger overseeing everything were the best.

Really nice restaurant- we will be back. The menu is extensive, but wish the wines/champagnes were more moderately priced.

Fantastic Friday date night! We enjoyed the Korean BBQ + cocktails + delicious Basque cheesecake. Highly recommend. Can't wait til we go back. I hear they have a great HH as well.

This is the second time we stopped by Prime 131. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for a different experience.

I went last night to celebrate a friend's birthday and the food was AMAZING!! We had quite some issues with our initial waiter, but I spoke to the manager and they were very accommodating. We received a new waiter right away and he did such a wonderful job taking care of us for the rest of the evening. I would totally go back!!

Extremely over-priced and quality and portion sizes disappointing. Made Reservations for my wife's retirement. Moved location 3 times, bars by open flames hot and smokey, bar in front sun blinds you if you're going to be there before nightfall. By the same token realized that we were eating in what was an abandoned warehouse 12 months ago. Crab cakes - The size of a quarter and pretty bland Sushi - Quality just okay, you can find several places much better for less. Steak - Order 5 oz Wagyu Filet ($450) was tough, maybe a 1/4 inch in thickness but most disappointing they served it cut up like fajitas. Who does that to a $400+ steak???? Anyone? Anyone? Tried to send it back but was told we had eaten 36% of the steak. I forgot to bring my food scale! Mgr, clearly not used to high end fine dining gave us explanation that steak was cut for our safety to determine if it was cooked properly. Forgot to bring my meat thermometer! Round and round still ended up being charged for it. Prime 131 should leave the Prime steaks to the big boys and stick to a simpler menu. Drinks- Yeah loved our bartender who was a dog lover and wine list that included Far Niente, (my wife's fav chard) Cocktails start in the $20's so are pretty expensive even for the Heights, but I can live with that. Asked for special dessert at end of meal, they couldn't pull it off. Closes at 10 but I guess kitchen closes at 9. =( In conclusion, go for a couple drinks and laughs and then go to eat a fine meal somewhere elsewhere. Tab almost $700 as seen below and left starving.
