Prelude Kitchen & Bar is Restaurant located in Downtown Sacramento that serves Modern American, Farm to Fork cuisine. Our Chefs work directly with local Sacramento Farmers to source local ingredients for each dish. We believe food and dining is more than sustenance, it's a connection between guests, chefs, farmers, and the nature that surrounds us. Our menu is crafted from scratch, ensuring that every bite resonates with exceptional taste, genuine flavor, and fine dining quality. Prelude Kitchen & Bar is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Sacramento next to the Crest Theater, Golden One Center, State Capitol, SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and Performing Arts Center. We offer validated parking at Capitol Garage located directly across the restaurant.

It was our second time dining at Prelude and it was even better than the first. Food and cocktails were delicious and we received great service from Jacob. We ran into issues at the Capitol Garage parking due to an event, and Prelude was able to recommend and then validate parking at City Hall garage instead. Looking forward to returning again soon to try more of the menu!

Celebrated Mothers Day Saturday night. We like that it is close to the Capitol Building. Although the parking did not allow to validate, it was still a great experience. Although it would have been nice if we were given notice about the parking situation. Overall satisfied with the restaurant kudos to Victoria who provided exceptional service.

Delicious food and excellent service! Quality ingredients and generous portions — the pork chop was cooked perfectly and I took half of it home. Loved the gelato to end the meal. We sat outside and it was warm, but pleasant. Warm and courteous staff. I am looking forward to dining there again.

Server Ryan was outstanding! Ambiance was lovely except for the row of very bright small “spotlights” beaming down to one of the places at each table on 2 rows of tables. Food was delicious. Halibut was a smidgen over cooked so a bit dry. Overall the flavors were lovely including the halibut, shrimp and asparagus appetizer. We will definitely go back.

AH-MAZING dinning experience. The pork chop was cooked to perfection. My husband’s rib eye was full of flavor. He ACTUALLY liked the peas that came with it so I knew it was good. Produce was very fresh and sourced locally. U can taste the love and passion of the chef come thru in the dishes. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about every minor detail on each dish and u could tell he too loves his job and is proud to work there. Very quiet and romantic, simple decor. They let the food speak for itself. Highly recommend.
