Prelude Kitchen & Bar is Restaurant located in Downtown Sacramento that serves Modern American, Farm to Fork cuisine. Our Chefs work directly with local Sacramento Farmers to source local ingredients for each dish. We believe food and dining is more than sustenance, it's a connection between guests, chefs, farmers, and the nature that surrounds us. Our menu is crafted from scratch, ensuring that every bite resonates with exceptional taste, genuine flavor, and fine dining quality. Prelude Kitchen & Bar is conveniently located in the heart of Downtown Sacramento next to the Crest Theater, Golden One Center, State Capitol, SAFE Credit Union Convention Center and Performing Arts Center. We offer validated parking at Capitol Garage located directly across the restaurant.

Celebrated our anniversary at Prelude, we had exceptional service. I ordered the halibut and my husband ordered the pork shoulder. We will definitely be back soon.

After reading all the reviews of this restaurant, I was so excited to try it. We went last night and unfortunately, it did not meet the expectations of the other reviews. I will say that everyone there in the service industry was incredible. We started off at the bar and had an old-fashioned, a glass of quilt cab, and the happy hour charcuterie. We moved into the dining room and a nice quiet booth. However, there’s really no ambience in this place. It feels more like a quiet hotel restaurant. I got the pasta which was average and my husband got the pork chop which first came very undercooked. We had to send it back so I ended up eating alone. He ended up getting his pork chop, which was delicious, but the experience of eating separately was not great. Nothing was offered to us as compensation for this. it was a very expensive meal for what you got. I will not be going back. If you want a great dining experience in Sacramento I would choose Ella.

Amazing food! Amazing service! Will definitely return. We’re foodies and we had an EXTRAORDINARY meal. Our server, Ashley, was excellent in every way. This was a wonderful dining experience.

It was our second time dining at Prelude and it was even better than the first. Food and cocktails were delicious and we received great service from Jacob. We ran into issues at the Capitol Garage parking due to an event, and Prelude was able to recommend and then validate parking at City Hall garage instead. Looking forward to returning again soon to try more of the menu!
