The decor was very pretty. That’s about it. The drinks are okay and around $20-$25. The biggest detractor is they make you give up your phone when you come in and put it under lock and key. They said “We are going to force you to talk to each other”. I’m an adult and prefer to be treated like one. What a stupid policy. It’s a bar, get over yourselves already.

Great ambiance and service but cocktails were not good at all. They are still working things out and open to feedback so they didn’t charge us because we left our drinks. The menu is unnecessarily complicated and hard to read too.

Love this place but I feel like they are being conservative on capacity. It’s a good vibe when all corners have people in it and it’s not sparse. No reason for there to be anywhere else to go after the powder room. Good music, drinks, management and vibe.

The sweetest server, Peyton. Unfortunately the drinks were absolutely terrible. They didn’t have some basic ingredients that every bar should have. Definitely won’t return considering you have to give up your phone. Weird ambiance. Think adult rainforest cafe 😂🤣🤣

Things to know: -Enter through Manny’s. The door to Powder Room is on the right. There are no signs. -Upscale vibe and dress code -No phones. They take it away or have you put it in a pouch Impeccable design. Every detail was thought of, from the room’s layout to the warm lighting and sound to the menu reading like a magazine to the books and trinkets on the bookshelf. There’s nothing like this in Austin. The no-phones policy screens out the influencer crowd. You’re forced to be in the moment. If you want to post about how much fun you’re having, this isn’t your place. If you want amazing drinks, atmosphere, and conversation, then come to Powder Room.

The cocktail I ordered was the seven solution and it was full of sugar. I could not enjoy it and had to order a different one. My server arrived late and I was confused as to why they would assign my table to a sever arriving much later than me. I wasn’t sure if it was a mistake or the sever was just late for her shift. I am not sure what goal this bar has with their theme, but it felt like just a regular bar and the phone policy just seems like it doesn’t fit. I was expecting a more of a “wow” effect because of the hype build up. Hopefully, things will improve.

The Powder Room's interior was beautiful and unique. I really liked the drink and drink menu and how it tells you what drink will come in and was labeled to let you know what to expect. The server was really kind and knowledgeable. This is a no-phone lounge, they take away your phone at the front and I love the concept. I enjoyed the live DJ but it was extremely loud and hard to hear for a lounge that makes you talk to your group. Although I like the no phones, I wish I did have my phone to take pictures of the drinks, my friends, the interior, and the DJ playing. I didn't order food so I can't comment on that. Overall, I would come back!

We did not have any of the food, though they do offer bites. The cocktails were fun and delicious. We really appreciated the thought, effort and energy that was put into the "magazine" menu. The DJ was incredible, played live guitar and had great music playing the whole time. It was a little too loud to hear our friends across from us at the table, but the music was amazing. I was worried that with the look of the place (them asking you to check your phone in at the entrance), the staff might be a bit pretentious, but actually we were blown away by how kind, friendly and welcoming everyone was. It felt good to be away from our phones so we could truly enjoy the music, our drinks and each other's company. The food looked like it would be really tasty, and we'll be back for snacks. We loved it, and will definitely be back!

I went on their first weekend open with some friends for a reservation at 9 PM. However, we did not get seated until til 9:30 PM and did not get our order taken until another fifteen minutes later. PROS: - ambiance, “vibey” - creative drinks and menu - nice cocktails - friendly server CONS: - makes you check in your phones - there is a 90 minute time limit - seemed a little understaffed - cocktails are over $20 - a bit hot and humid - long wait time despite having a reservation

I had a wonderful experience at the powder room! The ambience space is really incredible, they did a wonderful job creating magical ambience. My server is very helpful and informative at the in-depth menu that they had. the cocktails are all works of art. They take you on a magical journey have site taste and sensation. I will definitely be coming here again!

As a fan of speakeasies and classic cocktails, I was excited to try out. However, my visit left much to be desired. Firstly, the lack of attention to detail was evident when my Old Fashioned arrived in the wrong glassware. Presentation is key, especially for such a classic cocktail, and this oversight was disappointing. Furthermore, the service was inconsistent. One of our party members ordered a cocktail that was poorly executed, indicating a lack of expertise behind the bar. The ambiance was marred by the erratic behavior of the DJ, who continuously fluctuated the music volume from excessively loud to barely audible before 9pm. This made conversation difficult and disrupted the overall atmosphere. Adding to the disappointment was the quality of the drinks. While one expects to pay a premium for craft cocktails, the drinks at way fell below average in taste and presentation on day 2 of the opening. Lastly, the lack of enforcement of the dress code for men detracted from the intended upscale experience. It's disheartening to see standards overlooked, especially in a venue aiming to evoke a certain era and style. Overall, my experience at Poweder Room was far from memorable. With other places nearby hard pass. With improvements in attention to detail, service, ambiance, and drink quality, it has the potential to be a standout destination in the speakeasy scene.
