From start to finish we had the best dining experience. Cocktail was ok but soup, salad and entrees were wonderful and delicious. Service was great and we all enjoyed the experience. Cute charming interior. Would go back and highly recommend.

The hostess was rude and unfriendly and I wasn’t sure why - maybe it was an off day. I’ve been here before and the soup this time tasted reheated and burned. The color is usually yellow and was dark orange and tasted old. I asked if they changed the recipe but they said no. The jumbo lobster ravioli app came out cold. Not like warm. Cold. I think they had left it sitting for a bit because the apps took so long to come out. Everything seemed off - the last time we came was very pleasant. The waiters are very nice and friendly but the hosts could maybe use with some customers service and behavioral training .

Great food, service and made us feel special even with a cranky toddler !! Cream of Mushroom was Michelin grade !! Wine selection was great too !! We are going back !

Very disappointing. Have been dining at Portabella for several years. The last two visits have been extremely disappointing. The Hostess gave off the vibe that it was a pain being there and it showed when greeting guests. The food was several levels below what we had come to love about Portabella to begin. There is so much great dining in Carmel so we are taking a break from Portabella for awhile.

One of our favorite restaurants in Carmel! We love that it’s dog friendly (we always bring our corgi pup with us) and the food is always incredible. We’ve been going here every year for the past 7 years (since we’ve been married). We’ve celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here over the years. It’s now a tradition of ours to take a photo in front of the fireplace. We always recommend Portabella to friends visiting Carmel.

The Caesar salad was excellent. The seafood linguine was very good. Try the Chianti Riserva.

The food was pretty bad honestly - bland, plain and low quality. My carbonara was not anything close to that, more like Olive Garden alfredo sauce. My mom got the salmon and they overcooked it, super dry and didn't even taste seasoned. Waiter said that it might be dry because there's no sauce??? As if salmon, a fatty fish, has to have cream sauce to taste good... but when she said it was overcooked he insisted that he have the chef fix it and it came back raw. The waiter did try to make it right and also took it off our bill which is nice - service/ambiance were nice but the food could use improvement.
