Situated on the eighth floor of the Port of Leith Distillery, the Bar contains some of the finest and most exciting new wave whiskies from Scotland and around the world.

With stunning views of Edinburgh, Leith and the Firth of Forth, the 200-bottle double-height back bar is intended to invite discovery and enlightenment at the sheer wonder and variety of global whisky alchemy.

Much like the whisky the distillery seeks to create, everything else the bar has to offer is inspired by the provenance of the Forth Valley, and Leith’s rich food and drink heritage.

With a seasonally inspired food menu of local and indigenous ingredients, Head Chef Patrick and his team, combine classic and modern techniques, championing the best of Scotland’s farmers and produce.

We look forward to welcoming you in for a dram.

Gorgeous venue and great service and dog friendly too….lovely good quality food but just as we got there the most came down and couldn’t see the view! Luckily we know that view anyway..def go back!

First experience at Port of Leith. Wanted a special evening with a discerning overseas friend. We weren't disappointed! Fabulous views of Edinburgh's iconic landmarks and industrial port heritage. Advice on whisky flights by knowledge staff appreciated. Definitely a more contemporary take on a tasting experience. Buzzy ambience and pumping audio may not suit traditionalists, but quite a mixed clientele on the evening. Scallops perfectly cooked with a nice crunch of samphire. Good selection on the cheeseboard and the hispi cabbage with marmite was our cup of tea! Staff attentive but not overbearing. Nice to showcase just what Scotland can offer to our international guests.

I had a fantastic dinner at Port of Leith. The views were amazing and the staff so friendly. I had the gnocchis and my friend the scallops. They were perfect and we added a cocktail as well. I would highly recommend the experience!

Fell between two stools to my mind. Winter menu had some large plate options but these seemed to have disappeared and I left having had less than I had hoped for a meal at a destination venue. While I could not fault the quality of anything we had, given that a relatively expensive drinks list still led to quite a high bill, I was looking for just a little bit more in terms of choice and options to fill up on. Perhaps you need to decide whether the venue is a primarily a bar serving small plate snacks or a venue where people come for the food too. Certainly not a disaster, but I was disappointed.

Part of our group had a distillery tour and part of our group was staying in the bar/dining room area. Had a 6 pm tour and we arrived at 5:30 so we figured we would have a quick drink beforehand. Tour folks ordered 2 beers, an old fashioned, Aperol spritz and a sherry. Drinks came at 5:55, needless to say they took a few sips and left them with those of us staying at the bar. Those of us at the bar ordered food from a very limited menu that wasn't anything special and some drinks. Trying to get another round of drinks or order anything else was hard since no one really stopped by even though there were enough people "working". Never did get a chance to order a second drink. Once the tour folks were done they came back up. One waitress had the nerve to say she needed our table in half an hour. Ummm, I've been waiting 15 minutes to order a drink! I said just bring the bill which added insult to injury, they added a 12.5% service charge. Never again. The tour folks found it informative but they don't have anything they make there. They give you other companies products to taste. There are better distillery tours out there - skip this one and definitely skip the bar/restaurant.

We were short on staff when you visited us however this is no excuse and customers should never have a lesser experience due to back of house issues. Delightful venue with wonderful views. Worth the trip on the tram to get there and this adds up the atmosphere. Only had drinks and small plates but good food, excellent service. Quality drinks and a certain fixture on the Edinburgh eateries.

We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Port of Leith over a few drinks and small plates. Our welcome was warm and the card on the table for us congratulating us on our anniversary accompanied by glasses of champagne on the house was a very nice touch. We started with the very unusual Dirty Martini dip, followed by the scallops, devilled eggs and chicken liver parfait, all of which were superb. We also had the cigar club whisky flight which was excellent and enjoyed cocktails to start. The views from the 8th floor bar are amongst the best in Edinburgh - from the Kingdom of Fife to the North, to the castle to the South. The bar is spacious, the service excellent and the ambience very relaxing. The choice of whiskies is extensive and impressive. I would thoroughly recommend the Port of Leith to anyone looking for a relaxed evening with great food in adult surroundings. We'll definitely be back!

Overall had a great time visiting the Port of Leith Distillery for my 30th birthday celebrations. Tasty cocktails, delicious port and a wide selection of whisky. I enjoyed a soft introduction to whisky with a experimental glass of it from Leith. Food was snacky but fitted the venue perfectly. Awesome views of the city and a lovely ambience. I would definitely recommend visiting.

The new menu is up and running and is wonderful. Gnocchi a big hit also devilled eggs. Panna cotta dessert with apricot sensational. Bar was buzzing, lovely dog had a welcome water bowl and we were wonderfully looked after. We were with a happy plane spotter as the flights glided down past the giant windows.

Great experience. The venue is unique and stunning. Great atmosphere as it was busy but not too noisy as the large space soaks it up. We had 3 whisky flights which was great fun. The food was lovely albeit the menu is quite brief. We will be back for more and encourage friends to visit. PS our service was good, pleasant, friendly and full of whisky knowledge and tips.

Not my first visit to the Port of Leith Distillery - I just love it! - but my lovely friend was very impressed. We had soup - delicious - cocktails - even more so!! - and enjoyed the view - not the clearest but hey ho, we're in Edinburgh! I will definitely visit again and my friend's planning a treat for her daughters. The bar staff are attentive, but not intrusive, very helpful and pleasant - I had a Campari spritz as there was no Aperol after the Easter weekend (it's OK, I got over it and loved the drink!). We stopped by the shop on the way out - no purchases this time but gift ideas aplenty! - and once again all the staff were so lovely.

I booked a table for lunch for my husband’s birthday yesterday, Sunday 31st March. When we arrived, there was a birthday card on the table for him which was a lovely touch. My husband had the steak pie which he said was the best he’s had for a long time, packed with flavour and packed with chunks of steak. I had the vegetarian lasagne which was very tasty and we had chunky hand cooked chips which were fab. The wine and beer were also fab and the views from the 3 “walls” of floor to ceiling windows were amazing. We checked, and they are dog friendly too so we’ll be back with our wee dog soon. Thanks POLD. Thoroughly enjoyed our time with you.

Great bar and nice bites to eat with a superb view of Edinburgh and across to the bridges too. We enjoyed a cocktail before wine and charcuterie, cheese board and a smoked haddock scotch egg. Super service and it was busy so would recommend making a reservation in advance

Friendly staff in what feels like an upmarket student refectory in design as furnishings sparse and lighting can be harsh in certain areas. Outstanding views with good food. Small menu but tasty and great value wines. Magic martini making from our welcoming initial waiter. Toilets need more attention with cleaning upkeep.

Very welcomin bar. Well informed and very friendly staff. Excellent cocktails. A bit noisy at 7pm on a Saturday, but they very helpfully moved us upstairs, where it is a bit quieter. Will be back.
