Situated on the eighth floor of the Port of Leith Distillery, the Bar contains some of the finest and most exciting new wave whiskies from Scotland and around the world.

With stunning views of Edinburgh, Leith and the Firth of Forth, the 200-bottle double-height back bar is intended to invite discovery and enlightenment at the sheer wonder and variety of global whisky alchemy.

Much like the whisky the distillery seeks to create, everything else the bar has to offer is inspired by the provenance of the Forth Valley, and Leith’s rich food and drink heritage.

With a seasonally inspired food menu of local and indigenous ingredients, Head Chef Patrick and his team, combine classic and modern techniques, championing the best of Scotland’s farmers and produce.

We look forward to welcoming you in for a dram.

Our Kitchen closes at 9:30pm Tuesday - Saturday and 7:30pm Sunday - Monday.
Our Bar Snacks menu runs all night.

Love dry wit? Raw emotion? A right rollercoaster of a story? This is a ‘blistering’ dysfunctional family saga you won’t forget. Set in the 8 generation Kingdom of Mourne Distillery, Newcastle, County Down now now run by an Ulster brethren woman, it’s all about men, women and whiskey… and you might even get a wee Leith dram to boot- now, what’s not to love?!

The light bites they had on offer were good. Nothing too hearty. The drinks were outstanding, as were the views and friendly service. Would definitely recommend.

Interesting menu, portion sizes not over generous but reasonable value for money. Very cheese dominant which was a problem for one of our party. (Had not checked the menu before booking) Great location and setting and glorious weather made the views stunning. Huge selection of cocktails/beers etc would come back for drinks and a snack.

Really nice setting for a bar looking out over Leith/the city. Food is nice but feels expensive for what you get

Great location. Extremely interesting cocktail list. Good varied selection of small plates. We probably ordered too much bread. Helpings were reasonably generous. Prices were reasonable too. Good selection of wines at competitive pricing which is unusual for Edinburgh these days. We finished with a whisky flight that was both interesting and good value.

Service initially was good but when the group of 7 arrived at different times, service dropped dramatically and two of us were waiting for drinks for over 15 minutes. My other friend received food and had to ask for cutlery. I suspect we were overshadowed by the owners of the distillery sat at the adjacent table, who I'm sure received the best service going. It was not otherwise very busy. Based on this rubbish service, I would not go back even though the food, drinks and view were great. The CEOs had everyone nervous by the looks of it, waiting staff were frequently nowhere to be found (for us lowly plebs, at least) and the only one who sorted us out eventually was the sole woman waitress while the men checked their phones behind the bar.

We never had food so we can’t comment on that . We had a lovely view but it took a while for drinks to come and as soon as my son finished his whisky tasting they clear his glass away while the rest of us we’re still drinking the waitresses hovered over the table as soon as your glass was empty she just took it without asking which wasn’t nice it felt like we had to hurry up as it was only birthday drinks. It was nice feeling. It was a nice touch leaving a card for the birthday person as they were family visit from Canada.
