Situated on the eighth floor of the Port of Leith Distillery, the Bar contains some of the finest and most exciting new wave whiskies from Scotland and around the world.

With stunning views of Edinburgh, Leith and the Firth of Forth, the 200-bottle double-height back bar is intended to invite discovery and enlightenment at the sheer wonder and variety of global whisky alchemy.

Much like the whisky the distillery seeks to create, everything else the bar has to offer is inspired by the provenance of the Forth Valley, and Leith’s rich food and drink heritage.

With a seasonally inspired food menu of local and indigenous ingredients, Head Chef Patrick and his team, combine classic and modern techniques, championing the best of Scotland’s farmers and produce.

We look forward to welcoming you in for a dram.

Amazing experience at the distillery. Our waitress gave us excellent service, drinks were amazing and the view at sunset was stunning.

Delightful venue with wonderful views. Worth the trip on the tram to get there and this adds up the atmosphere. Only had drinks and small plates but good food, excellent service. Quality drinks and a certain fixture on the Edinburgh eateries.

We chose to celebrate our wedding anniversary at the Port of Leith over a few drinks and small plates. Our welcome was warm and the card on the table for us congratulating us on our anniversary accompanied by glasses of champagne on the house was a very nice touch. We started with the very unusual Dirty Martini dip, followed by the scallops, devilled eggs and chicken liver parfait, all of which were superb. We also had the cigar club whisky flight which was excellent and enjoyed cocktails to start. The views from the 8th floor bar are amongst the best in Edinburgh - from the Kingdom of Fife to the North, to the castle to the South. The bar is spacious, the service excellent and the ambience very relaxing. The choice of whiskies is extensive and impressive. I would thoroughly recommend the Port of Leith to anyone looking for a relaxed evening with great food in adult surroundings. We'll definitely be back!

Overall had a great time visiting the Port of Leith Distillery for my 30th birthday celebrations. Tasty cocktails, delicious port and a wide selection of whisky. I enjoyed a soft introduction to whisky with a experimental glass of it from Leith. Food was snacky but fitted the venue perfectly. Awesome views of the city and a lovely ambience. I would definitely recommend visiting.

The new menu is up and running and is wonderful. Gnocchi a big hit also devilled eggs. Panna cotta dessert with apricot sensational. Bar was buzzing, lovely dog had a welcome water bowl and we were wonderfully looked after. We were with a happy plane spotter as the flights glided down past the giant windows.

Great experience. The venue is unique and stunning. Great atmosphere as it was busy but not too noisy as the large space soaks it up. We had 3 whisky flights which was great fun. The food was lovely albeit the menu is quite brief. We will be back for more and encourage friends to visit. PS our service was good, pleasant, friendly and full of whisky knowledge and tips.

Not my first visit to the Port of Leith Distillery - I just love it! - but my lovely friend was very impressed. We had soup - delicious - cocktails - even more so!! - and enjoyed the view - not the clearest but hey ho, we're in Edinburgh! I will definitely visit again and my friend's planning a treat for her daughters. The bar staff are attentive, but not intrusive, very helpful and pleasant - I had a Campari spritz as there was no Aperol after the Easter weekend (it's OK, I got over it and loved the drink!). We stopped by the shop on the way out - no purchases this time but gift ideas aplenty! - and once again all the staff were so lovely.

I booked a table for lunch for my husband’s birthday yesterday, Sunday 31st March. When we arrived, there was a birthday card on the table for him which was a lovely touch. My husband had the steak pie which he said was the best he’s had for a long time, packed with flavour and packed with chunks of steak. I had the vegetarian lasagne which was very tasty and we had chunky hand cooked chips which were fab. The wine and beer were also fab and the views from the 3 “walls” of floor to ceiling windows were amazing. We checked, and they are dog friendly too so we’ll be back with our wee dog soon. Thanks POLD. Thoroughly enjoyed our time with you.

Great bar and nice bites to eat with a superb view of Edinburgh and across to the bridges too. We enjoyed a cocktail before wine and charcuterie, cheese board and a smoked haddock scotch egg. Super service and it was busy so would recommend making a reservation in advance

Friendly staff in what feels like an upmarket student refectory in design as furnishings sparse and lighting can be harsh in certain areas. Outstanding views with good food. Small menu but tasty and great value wines. Magic martini making from our welcoming initial waiter. Toilets need more attention with cleaning upkeep.

Very welcomin bar. Well informed and very friendly staff. Excellent cocktails. A bit noisy at 7pm on a Saturday, but they very helpfully moved us upstairs, where it is a bit quieter. Will be back.

The bar at Port of Leith Distillery is somewhere you can never get tired of. Inside the great ambience, lovely staff and good food and looking down from the 8th floor at the ships in the port and the views to Fife and East Lothian. In the lagoon flocks of birds bob around and the Gormley statue keeps his lonely vigil. What a place.

There’s a very relaxed atmosphere on the 8th floor bar/restaurant at Port of Leith Distillery. A friendly welcome and efficient service are standard and bar users are able to float on ‘top of the world’ as they gaze out at the amazing views. Bird watchers can pick out flocks of ducks and gulls in total warmth and comfort as they eat delicious food and sample the extensive drinks menu. What a place!

Fantastic Mother’s Day! Great table with a view at Port of Leith Vertical Distillery, staff were extremely helpful and courageous and were very polite when discussing menu choices. The food was very tasty and the Lind & Lime G&T was refreshing. Completely relaxed atmosphere throughout our meal, staff were attentive and had a good sense of humour! We’ll be back soon as the member of staff in the shop was very helpful with our purchases. Enjoyable afternoon throughout and a memorable Mother’s Day, thank you!

This is a great spot for lunch or a light meal with good selection of drinks and wonderful views along the Forth, Fife coast and south across the city when the weather is fine.

We came for the tour and booked drinks in the bar after. The tour was informative, and the taste session at the end was well prepared. The bar had a good atmosphere and views over Leith Port. The food smelt amazing but we had already had other plans so we stayed for drinks. Reasonably priced and would recommend to people who are visiting the area

A very interesting venue. This was our first visit. Service was excellent. Staff knowledgeable and helpful. Food and drink was great. One minor 'fault' for me - as I have arthritic knees - was, as we were only a party of two, we were seated on high stools, with no ledge on the table leg to rest our feet. It was a little uncomfortable for me and I noticed another older couple, when offered the same, decided to leave. I'm glad we stayed though!
