Polanco Mexican Modern Steak House is a slightly elevated restaurant that will focus on fine dining touches with a lively atmosphere. Polanco features a prime selected list of steaks seared off and seasoned with an eye towards the ranches and cattle farms of northern Mexico. Bar operated by Miguel Valencia who is the head mixologist listing a cocktail selection based on agave varieties such as Mezcal, Ensambles and a unique selection of Tequilas.

The restaurant is inside a hotel, which usually is not a good start, but we thought we would give it a try anyway . It is a relatively small place with large furniture. It has a cool bar, which probably became the redeeming quality as to why it didn’t get a one star or zero star as a total rating on my review. My husband had the lamb steak, which was very tasty but is small portion for a men, and for the price they charge . I had to Seabass, which was also small, but I was OK with that. The problem was that it was very salty along with the roasted cauliflowers next to the Seabass. I found myself drinking my delicious cucumber, mint margarita like it was lemonade …. So I just stopped eating my food. The bartender was nice enough to go back to management and asked for permission to give us 50% discount on the cost of my dish. We didn’t ask for it, but it was nice of him to do that. There seems to be a lot of changes going on at the restaurant so employees did not behave confident over they were doing the information to provide when questions asked.. Not necessarily a restaurant that I would go back to, but perhaps I just happen to go during a transition period.

Guacamole was bland needed more spice. Best was the Surf but Turf was a bit chewy even though was grilled perfectly to medium rare. The French press coffee had no flavor and too diluted. Not enough coffee for the volume of water. The best part was the ambiance. On the outside plain building but inside extremely impressive

Normally things are great when we done here how ever this time we got sick upon consuming the steak appetizer dish. It’s unfortunate because the ambience and service was very professional

Food was just plainly subpar. Place is beautiful, and the service was great. If the food were good, it'd be a 5 Star restaurant, but it's not. I'm Mexican and I've dined at many, many Mexican restaurants of various levels and I was utterly disappointed. Wine selection was great. So, maybe if you want to take pretty pictures and have a good drink go there and tje go eat somewhere else.

We loved everything about our dinner! Tye cocktails were fantastic, the lobster enchiladas were perfectly seasoned and the beans and rice elevated. The surf and turf was well priced for such an elegant presentation. Loved it. Thank you.

I went to Polanco for a work lunch and the food was cold and had little flavor. The dessert was better but the enchiladas divorciadas were barely edible.
