What a fantastic meal! From appetizer to desert, they did not disappoint. The dishes were authentic and perfectly put together. Highly recommend.

The food was super delicious. We had a good time, the manager was really welcome, and really friendly and couldn't ask for a more friendly environment to be in. We had a really good afternoon, the fish was fresh and cooked in perfection, the waiting time was spot on. I reccomend this place many times. I will be back again.

Lovely meal, friendly staff. Not the biggest menu but has everything you need. A few italians eating in the restaurant, normally a fairly good sign.

Our first time in Edinburgh, we choose this restaurant for its fabulous menu! we were not disappointed, owner and staff or very attentive and helpful. Great fish and steak! Highly recommend a visit.

Cracking restaurant. A hidden gem of an establishment, wouldn't have known about it, had it not been on TripAdvisor. Genuine, 100% Italian. Phenomenal food, made with care and respect for the ingredients. Can't rate it highly enough. My only regret, is that it's over 400 miles from my home. I'd be in there every lunch and dinner if I could.

Easily the best Italian Restaurant I have ever been to, took my partner here for Valentine’s Day Dinner and we had the set menu for £35 a head and it was absolutely brilliant! The staff were very friendly and attentive! We will definitely be back in the near future!

Once seated waiter tried to move us to a corner table which would’ve been a squeeze for 2 definitely not suitable for 3, so declined to move from the initial table that we had been offered. After a few minutes wait we weee told we could stay where seated. After we had ordered, we heard tables who came in after us being given specials on offer but these weren’t advised to us, so service initially was below par but overall staff were very pleasant. Food was generally tasty, pasta and fish dishes enjoyable, however chicken was chewy in the Milanese dish. Good for a quick dinner before the theatre.

We were all so impressed with the authentic feel of the restaurant and food. The food was some of the best we’ve tasted. Especially the risotto and veal pasta. I would recommend here to any edinburgh visitor.

I have dined at Piccolinos numerous times in London and Manchester and this is a pale comparison to those, almost unrecognisable We were crammed into a table for 2 in the doorway of of unused door on a doormat The tables were sticky, the placement was paper, no steak knives, pollo alla milanese wasnt tenderised, just a big slab of chicken. The steak was okay but not a great cut. Couple next and in front offered a complimentary drink, we didnt. We booked our table two weeks in advance and got the worst experience Ive ever had with this group of restaurants. Massive disappointment sady

Very nice place just next to hotel warm friendly service good no special board which surprised me service very good drinks quite expensive .we had 2 small well behaved dogs with us which was a bonus for us .would recommend to anyone but advice to book .yes a lovely little restaurant we did enjoy it 😀

Lovely restaurant run by friendly attentive staff, the food was very tasty offering a variety of different dishes we had the venison with pasta in sauce it was so tender and delicious and was something different would recommend.

Absolutely gorgeous, I had the seafood pasta which was delicious and my partner had the lasagna which she said was gorgeous but a little lukewarm. This didn’t detract from us having a wonderful meal. Aslo the staff were great . If we lived in Edinburgh, we would definitely be back .

After over an hour of googling places to eat In Edinburgh on New Year’s Day we finally arrived at Piccolino. Nice cosy atmosphere, friendly staff and amazing food. Next time I’m through I will definitely be back.

Ordered a steak medium which was overcooked and tough. Had to reserve table with £10 a head deposit and was told I could use my restaurant card in the restaurant only to be told it couldn’t be used when it came to pay. My daughter ordered ice cream which cost £7 and was so disappointed when she received 2 small scoops. At least the waitress took off the service charge!
