Pho is a healthy Vietnamese restaurant that specialise in pho noodle soup, the national dish of Vietnam. Aside from pho, you can also expect to find amazing sharing starters, healthy salads, hearty rice bowls and decadent curries. Very slow service and took an hour to receive main courses. I was with kids and they were absolutely starving by the time the food came. I noticed they were preparing loads of deliveroo orders, don’t know if this is why it took so long. We would have had a desert but it just took too long for the menus to arrive and then for someone to collect the order. The food is good but nothing special and with the length of time and service I wouldn’t be quick to return.

Starters were terrific, mains good but the chicken was very dry, customer service wonderful, overall ambiance good, I'd like to go back but the background music drove us absolutely bonkers, it was very repetitive and thumpy and loud which made it hard to hear each other and made the experience overall unpleasant despite all the other great things. If you don't mind thumpy repetitive background music you'll have a great time but I won't be going back.

Loved my visit. Food was great and our server, sorry didn't get his name, was very helpful and pleasant. Great location for a pre theatre visit to the Playhouse.

Met up with a friend here. So glad we booked ahead it was packed! Staff were lovely. I have an allergy and they were on top of it. The staff knew and the kitchen and the manager talked me through the menu to make sure I was comfortable. We had one of the pho and a curry. Both delicious!! Honestly could have had the pho again after. Highly recommend the steak and garlic! We are had a fair few of the dragonfruit martinis and they were delicious. So great we are coming back soon!

This lunch was one of the tastiest and beautifully presented I’d had in a long time. There were three of us having lunch, non of us had been to a Vietnamese restaurant Before - e we now know what we have been missing - definitely be returning.

Four of us had lunch, first time for all of us. Service impeccable, food very tasty and our general expetience was first class. We will be back.

The level of customer service was dreadful. Sitting without being spoken to for 20 minutes after being seated and having to ask the server if we could order. Dirty starter plates left on table for over 20 minutes and still there when the brought main course. They had no where to put the dishes down so left them on another table and didn’t come back to give them to us! Mid way through eating they brought a bill to us - wasn’t ours! Finally finished out mains, again dirty dishes sat for 25 mins and then I had to ask for the bill. Then they had the audacity to put on the service charge! When I brought up the issue they just smiled and said that’s fine - no apology. It was like one of those themed restaurants where you pay the staff to be rude to you! Such a pity as the food was really tasty. I won’t be returning to find out if it was just a bad day.

Service was extremely slow. Main course took a very long time and after dinner I almost immediately started getting ill. Will NEVER be back.

This was our first visit to Pho. The restaurant is a good size and we were greeted with a friendly face. Our server (Annabella/Arrabella?!) was really lovely, chatty and helpful. The food was incredible; tasty, fresh, a very generous portion. And the price was really good! We'll definitely be back.

We loved the food. We order a few starters and two bowls of Pho. Great portion sizes, we should’ve not ordered so many starters!!! Staff was attentive and very nice. Only con I would say was that the music was a bit too loud and too upbeat to relax but overall a great experience.

A fabulous restaurant tucked way on the 4th floor of st James quarter Edinburgh. Good and service was outstanding. I am coeliac and there was only two items on the menu I couldn’t have and one of them I was offered a substitute. Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable making the whole dining experience fantastic. Will definitely be back.

Despite booking a table we waited quite a while for drinks, which arrived after our food started arriving. The prawn crackers were just ordinary fast food crackers which surprised me, compared to prawn crackers at other higher end restaurants. Iced Vietnamese coffee was not drip coffee and felt watery. The pho dish was nice but I don’t think I’d feel motivated to return. 12.5% service on bill, which felt like London not Edinburgh.

Customer service was top notch. Music was a weird mix of nineties dance and mexican which was an odd choice. I had the hot and spicy beef, the broth wasn't spicy enough without the added spices that came with the dish but they made the broth a weird, almost grainy texture. For the money, it was still good value though I have had better spicy broths.

My family and I had lunch in Pho last week and enjoyed it very much. There was plenty of choice on the menu and the staff offered some useful advice on how to get the best our of some of the dishes we ordered. It was a very enjoyable experience and I'm sure it won't be long before we eat there again.

One small quibble among a great experience - the chicken in the broth dish was dry and a bit stringy. Everything else great. I’ve been before and will be back again.
