Pera tire son nom d'un quartier élégant à Istanbul qui a servi comme le melting pot pour de nombreuses cultures et cuisines depuis le 17ème siècle. Pera propose de nombreux mezzés, de la viande grillée spécialement préparée et marinée, des fruits de mer, des plats d’accompagnement méditerranéens modernes et traditionels et des pains régionaux cuits à la minute. We enjoyed lunch at Pers. Nice atmosphere with wonderful soundtrack playing. We shared the grilled octopus app and it was perfectly prepared and delicious. My guest than had the grilled eggplant sandwich and declared it fantastic. I had the watermelon and feta salad and added chicken for extra protein. You get a generous amount of watermelons and feta, which is a combination I love. The chicken was nicely done. Service was attentive but not intrusive.

We had a wonderful lunch at Pera. Service was great and our waiter gave wonderful recommendations for both food and with the wine menu. Pera offers a nice quiet vibe from the busy area of Grand Central. I also appreciated the healthy entrees which was nice after days of Italian and French dinners.

Pera has exceptional mediterranean cuisine. Our party of 8 all enjoyed their meals, the quality of the meat was outstanding, our server was efficient, he got everything correct and was always around when needed. In fact, one of our party (who dines out frequently said the lamb was the best he'd ever had.

I ordered lamb chops but I was told 20mins! after my order that lamb chops were not available, so it took close to 40mins to receive my alternative order. Ambiance is great, and food is delicious, however portions of food is quite small, I left the restaurant hungry spending close to $250 for 3 people. Entree options are quite limited as well.

Pera’s food and service are excellent. Pricing is relatively modest for quality. Nicely decorated and tables are well spaced. However, it is noisy. I don’t think people are talking loudly and there is no ambient music, but the high ceiling and large room make it cavernous with echos. Very hard to have a conversation across a small table. Gave four stars because of the difficulty hearing my dinner partner. Not sure there is anything they can do about it. Eating outside is an alternative, but not always desirable given weather.

The service was great and our appetizer (trio of dips) was delicious. My entree was just ok - salmon was over cooked and a bit fishy tasting. Very disappointing considering the price paid. The other entree was equally unimpressive.

I have been to Pera many times and I am always impressed. We had a quiet table, the food was excellent and we were able to sit for two hours uninterrupted. The service was wonderful.

Nice restaurant very close to Grand Central. Very convenient. Nice ambience. I had the salmon, yummy but the risotto was a little creamy for my taste.

My wife and I really enjoyed our dinner at Pera. I started with the house’s smoked old fashioned cocktail. Nice. We shared a mixed meze plate (really good, although I didn’t love the eggplant dip). We also would have preferred pita bread to the fried pita chips they served. Then we shared an excellent Adana kabob, with a side of Turkish coleslaw (based on a great recommendation from our excellent waiter that it goes well with the meat, which it absolutely did!!). Everything was very good, and the attentive service could not have been friendlier. We will definitely be back soon.

A wonderful meal with appropriately attentive and friendly service from the moment we walked in the door. Their lamb specialty dish is one of the best I have had. Our entire group of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We’ll be back!

Service was very good. My friend and I shared the fried calamari appetizer and it was a little dry so we asked for some aoli and they brought a little container which was perfect. The steak fritters was also very tasty. Usually I like my meat medium rare but this was more well done - but still tender and juicy and flavorful. The waitstaff was very positive about this dish and we are glad we took his advice. We were not rushed and spent 2.25 hours there. Definitely will be back!

It was a very nice restaurant with great service , high ceilings and fun music playing. We were a party for 8 for brunch. Location to Grand Central perfect for our needs.

It was fine. Just fine. Nothing stood out as special or would make me want you to go back. Service was very slow in beginning and then picked up but it was all just entirely mediocre.

What I love is the staff year after year continue to provide exceptional customer service. Many of the staff have worked there for years. When I was there yesterday accidentally left a backpack in the restaurant. The staff noticed it and quickly ran out and gave me my backpack. Kudos for going out of the way!!!!!

Impeccable food, nice brunch offerings, and pleasant service. Pera has become a go to spot for me, as it is so close to Grand Central. A great way to ease myself into a day in the city.

The restaurant was very noisy, but the manager was wonderful and moved us to a more out of the way table where we could hear each other. Food was delicious.

Not the greatest. Got my salad and then the dressing 10 mins later. No apology. Asked for another beer and took a long time to get the check. The salad was excellent.

The food was wonderful. We ordered the tapas sampler and got to try ALL the apps, then shared a salad and entree. The service was excellent; timely and kind. Definitely a great visit to NYC!
