Peppercorn’s Grill and Piccolo Arancio are owned and operated by the Cialfi siblings, Sal and Dino, Brothers Sal and Dino purchased Peppercorn's Grill in 1989 and opened Piccolo Arancio in 1994. This generation of Cialfi's has added modern creativity and personality to traditional strengths of their Italian roots. Sal and Dino were trained in the art of Italian food at their uncle's restaurant in Rome. When the opportunity to open a restaurant arose, they jumped at the opportunity and opened the first Piccolo Arancio in Rome. Piccolo Arancio was internationally acclaimed within their first year. Now operated by their cousins, Piccolo Arancio remains near the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Peppercorn's Grill and Piccolo Arancio received the Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for 10 years

First time visiting, probably should’ve selected a different day than Mother’s Day and a popular local graduation weekend. I gave an extra star for this reason and the fact that despite the chaotic day, everyone remained cheerful. As most restaurants do on busy days, Peppercorns squeezed in extra tables to accommodate the popular dining-out day. However, the space between our table and the one across the “aisle” was too tight and waiters and patrons were bumping our table to squeezing through the entire meal, making it uncomfortable for all. The service was efficient but rushed - we were asked for our order as the cocktails were served and our meal came within minutes. The food was rushed as well. The ravioli was unevenly warm and rubbery (seemed microwaved) and salmon severely undercooked. The sides and bread were tasty. Again, I don’t want to judge them too harshly as it was a busy day. That is why despite the less than pleasant experience, I would try them again during a quieter time and why I would recommend them, with this caveat.

Very nice Mother's Day lunch at Peppercorn. Service was attentive and helpful but not stifling. Pasta dishes, charcuterie, and desserts were all first-rate. About as good as it gets here in Hartford. Especially recommend the rigatoni a la vodka and the tiramisu. The environment was upscale yet relaxed and casual. The Bloody Mary I had was god awful, but hey, nothing's perfect. Overall a terrific experience.

The food and service were excellent. We were going to a show at the Bushnell and got caught in traffic and was running late. They were still able to get us in and out on time for the show. I would like to come back again when I have more time to try more items on the menu.

Delicious baby artichokes, beet salad, and ravioli. Can’t recommend the tagliatelle with saffron and shrimp: there was no sauce, just watery noodles with the other parts of the dish not blended in.

Its the small touches that make Peppercorn's a wonderful restaurant. The food is always amazing but the staff goes the extra mile for it's patrons. We look forward to dining there every chance we get.

Not a very good experience. The restaurants manager called in out as well as a number of wait staff. Food came late and so did coffee and dessert. It was not a great experience.

It was very busy before the theater show but our server was attentive, food came out hot and timely. The halibut special was absolutely delicious. My husband loved the chicken breasts.

We eat here 3-4 times a year and every time we say we should go more often and not just before shows down the street. The food in consistently great and while the service is less consistent, the timing is unfair since we are usually not alone in our pre- theater dinner, which puts undue pressure on the wait staff and kitchen. Already looking forward to the next opportunity

Waited 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. Several staff walked by us and no one even said they would be with us shortly. Will not be back and it wasn't even busy.

I have eaten there many times over many years because the food is good and I like the location. I have never seen such terrible service as last night. Too many examples, it would fill the page. I hope they can fix that. I will go again and hope for a better experience.

Peppercorn's Grille has become our Favorite Restaurant! The Service, the Food, the Wine, the Ambiance, Dino are all just FABULOUS! It feels festive and fun and lively and friendly - all in all a wonderful place to be and to dine at!!! We recommend it highly. The appetizers are varied and everyone we have had is delicious! There are a number of excellent and different salads to choose from and I haven't found one yet that I don't really like and this is special! The Fish dishes that I have tried were all yummy - the Chilian Sea Bass and the Halibut were outstanding dishes on the Specials menu. The Veal Chop looked amazing and my husband loved it. The Chocolate Bread Pudding Dessert is not to be missed - try it! If you like chocolate, you will love this. The Gelato is superb. The servers work so well hand and hand and are all very friendly1 This restaurant is a treat!!!

The meals were absolutely delicious from appetizer through dessert. The service was delightful, attentive but not intrusive, with attention to detail. The atmosphere was lively and lovely. The wine was excellent. This is an exceptional restaurant in every category. We celebrated a special occasion at this dinner and being here made it extra special. One of our go to restaurants in Hartford. The staff is friendly and the food never disappoints. My whole family loves Peppercorns. Frequent birthday choice for the grandkids who now eat steak but just as fun with just the two of us.

Good Service, great food. The ambiance is nice, but the table in the area we sat in was too overcrowded and cramped with 2 large parties. Our chairs were bumped into a few times. We definitely will be back.
