We are not a ‘fancy pants’ establishment. Not in the least. We offer good quality, home-cooked, locally sourced (where possible) food. 90% of our menu is made on the premises. Certainly not ‘Pub Grub’ but not ‘Gastro Pub’ either. It’s good value for money. However, our standards are high, very high. Not only in the quality of the food that comes into and leaves the kitchen but also in the presentation, the delivery to the table and overall customer service. We’re definitely not ‘Silver Service’ either but all of our staff are attentive, smartly dressed and will always go that extra mile wherever they can. These are just some of the reasons we were awarded the Taste of the West GOLD award in 2019.
We are a dog friendly establishment, very dog friendly. However, please tell us at the time of booking so that we can place you in our Bar area , as opposed to our Restaurant.

                                                                                              Wonderful food .cooked lovely.my son said it was the best sirloin steak he had ever tasted.also being gluten free he was looked after well . We all agreed the pennmill hotel is the best place to eat in Yeovil. All run so efficiently.it was a lovely evening for us all.

                                                                                              This was the first meal that we’ve had that we were dissatisfied with at the Pen Mill. The ham was below the usual standard and the fried eggs were cold with hard yolks. Very difficult to get the attention of the waitress.

                                                                                              From the moment we walked through the door the staff were welcoming, informative & polite and they remained that way throughout the time were there. The food was plentiful and nicely cooked although one small thing with roast potatoes, which were a bit overcooked making them tough but apart from that our lunch was very tasty. The restaurant was clean. Value for money. We will definitely be going back in the near future.

                                                                                              A very friendly service and great selection on the menu. The cream of cauliflower and Stilton soup made a change and was thick and delicious. The portions are of a notable size and everything was hot and fresh. It was our first visit having recently moved to the area and we will certainly return . A most enjoyable lunch.
