Here’s the deal in my opinion. The food is excellent. The location great. Nice ambience. BUT…. The one hostess/waitress did a great job. The other gentleman assisting the same. But they were busy and needed another hand to serve /and take orders. Food was lovely. From the hamachi crudo to the soup to pasta Nero to Branzino. All wonderfully done. But when u can’t get water or order taken, it’s not a good start There issues can be corrected.

Thrilled to have the expert cooking of Chef Nicola Mastronardi back at the helm of Osteria Vera in Brentwood. Missed his divine food and can’t wait to go back!

Requested an indoor table, but was seated outside. Other than that, enjoyed our meal. Pasta is the best.

A new restaurant that was bustling! The food was good and you know it will get even better with time. It has a great chef with a marvelous reputation and once the “dust” settles and they get their groove it will be a winner. While you are waiting you will still have a great meal !

The noise level was so intense that it overshadowed the entire evening for us. Some of the dishes are ones we remembered from our years of dining at Vincenti’s which we loved very much. With the same brick walls and no carpeting, it was just too noisy to hear our friends at a table for four. I wish the new owner would think about better soundproofing besides whatever was used on the ceiling. It’s truly not enough.

My friend and I were excited to see truffle cheese fondue on the menu. We even talked with the host that we were looking forward to the melted cheese as so few restaurants have fondue. What we were given was not fondue. It was a small amount of a very strong tasting, cold cheese spread. More like butter than fondue. The taste was too strong of rosemary and truffle ( which I usually like) and we couldn't eat it. We sent it back and then gave the host our honest feedback which he repeatedly said he appreciated. We indicated that it was false to list as a fondue rather than a cheese spread. And then they had the nerve to leave it on our bill (of course it was later taken off). He said their food was to share as the portions were generous. They were not. We had the eggplant which gave us each four bites. The branzino was very good, but again a small portion to share. They also need to rearrange the tables. We were bumped into every time a waiter went to serve the table behind us. They are new and hopefully with feed back will improve. Not a pleasant dinner.

I love the in-the-wheel Cacio e Pepe at Pecorino. I was sad to hear that reservations have been low for some time and that the restaurant will be closing and reopening under a new name.
