Mothers day - lots of kids dining for lunch and no child friendly options. Ours have always had porridge in the past. Unlikely to return as a family as both kids just ate bread and chips. Service was slow and cheese brioche bun was dry on top with very thick cheese. Chips and cauliflower focaccia were v good. Band was great - really enjoyed the music. Would recommend to adults but sadly not families.

This place offers an eclectic menu that changes frequently due to the fact they only create meals where ingredients can be secured locally. That said, everything my wife and I had was a joy to the palate. My wife had the chicken schnitzel, mushrooms and garlic butter. She said it was the best prepared chicken she had ever tasted. I went with the pork loin, cavolo nero, mustard and apple sauce. It was delicious! I didn't know anyone could make black cabbage taste so good. We also enjoyed the St John's Welsh rarebit for starters. Our drinks were served by the bartender (mixologist) and they also were very good. This fairly new restaurant offers dine fine dining in Edenborough Park. Give it a try.

Staff were amazing. Really passionate about what they do and exceeding accommodating and helpful. Food was to an excellent standard. For me personally I’d have loved a bit less salt and some vegetables with my dish!

Food is outstanding, Aesthetics are out of this world, coffee is delightful. Staff to customer communications are slightly rude with my wife getting a very aggressive comment from the Barrista for no reason when handing over the coffee. Would love to come back, but perhaps with less enthusiasm given the distance and the potential attitude. it was quite disappointing. outside of that, best bakery in Edinburgh

Lovely modern restaurant located within a business office area right at the tram stop (Edinburgh park central). Welcoming staff, curated wine list and nice menu with some vegetarian options. We were a family of 4 adults. Two chose the courgette entree and said it was delicious. My husband had the lamb and I had the seafood stew..bith very good.Their bread, baked in house was the best bread we had tasted during our 10 day vacation in scotland. They have an attached bakery which also caters to all the business people. This restaurant also has a stage with a grand piano on it and noticed that they host musical entertainment for future dates). We highly recommend this restaurant!

Lovely experience. Beautiful ambience and atmosphere. Very warmly welcomed. Very relaxed pace and not hurried. The music was great and the food was delicious. Liked the plates the food was served on. Pricey but would definitely come back for a special occasion.

We had a very nice evening with our friends, the music was great and food very nice, although my steak was cold and hadn’t been rested properly resulting in some blood on my plate!! The Paris breast was lovely. Pricing was a wee bit high, £7.00 for a wee bit of cheese on toast was a bit hard to swallow!! Overall we did have a very nice night and would definitely make a return visit.

Interesting outfit in a place you’d never imagine.. not enough signs for it! Nice ambiance and cafe and bakery were busy. Food was nice but I thought a bit expensive, maybe outskirts of Edinburgh, lunch at £80 is ok, but not much of it. Service was friendly and willing. Nice idea putting a circular curtain in front of the ladies loos, but I think you need to think of signage..

Visited for lunch before heading to Murrayfield for the rugby. Daughter and husband had steak which they both really enjoyed. Lovely place which I'm sure is great in the evening

A hidden gem with superb space and nearby inexpensive parking. Greeted warmly by Rich, and he and his staff were delighted to explain how they source and use ingredients from the local area. Moved tables to accommodate a pram and suggested an area not too close to speakers for baby. Food was excellent: fennel salad was phenomenal, fish fabulous, steak superb and barley dish was brilliant! Clearly, the patisserie chef is valued as the dessert menu was explained to us enthusiastically with special reference to their own bakery on premises which, after the bread, just had to be sampled. Splendid choices and each plate was delicious. Ambient, attractive, spacious surroundings where kids are welcome. Shall most definitely return- thank you!

We were surprised at how quiet it was, but I suppose it is a little out of the way for the weekend. However, we really enjoyed our meal there. Fabulous and very generous roast dinner, with perfect Yorkshire puddings and beautifully cooked cabbage alongside. We were too full for puddings, but made up for it by buying some pastries from the beautiful selection in the bakery on the way out.

I prefer breakfast or lunch at patina. Dinner was nice the duck was good puy lentils far to many on the plate we had a side of chips which were the best I have tasted for a long time. I would recommend breakfast and lunch but not dinner at patina

Very tasty food served and presented well. The restaurant was nicely laid out, lovely clean toilets. Only downside was we were the only diners for most of the time. Such a shame.

A Fawlty Towers dining area experience- wrong starter for one diner, wrong main course for one diner & wrong wine - all corrected but it led to a longer lunch than it should have been. Personally I would not go back.

This place is a gem! Staff are super friendly and put you at ease from the second you sit down. It was a beautiful sunny day so managed to sit outside in the lovely surroundings. Food was beyond excellent and would 100% recommend you visit if you have a sweet tooth as the pastries are incredible!

First time at the Patina restaurant, already a fan of the cafe. Excellent lunch experience, food was lovely, interesting drinks (cranberry cordial!!!), and good choice of both. Service was really impressive: pleasant, helpful staff and very efficient but also willing to stop and chat. And very dog-friendly. Will definitely be back.

The ambience and service was excellent at this restaurant. The menu was a bit limited but I should have reviewed this before I choose to go there? The food was good. The wine was excellent. In particular the 2 waiters gave a very excellent and professional service.

First of all the interiors and ambience is first class. The landscaping outside also enhances the experience. Inside at the counter - the presentation of food is good with prices and general descriptions written on the glass. I struggled to see any drinks list or prices though. The food - although on the expensive side - is delicious. We ate 2 different sandwiches which were heavenly - a total taste sensation. We also had 3 pastries that were crispy, flakey in all the right ways and again delicious.. HOWEVER... Anyone with a food allergy should approach this place with caution. There was little regard to food allergies. Staff seemed utterly perplexed at how to help me find something suitable for a family member to eat - there was no checking of item ingredients - no listing of ingredients anywhere and I was made to feel like I was an inconvenience to counter staff asking these important questions. We ended up choosing the most basic pastry for a lunch due to the inflexibility of the staff to make up something suitable. There was also no tongs/ gloves to handle pastries with staff using their hands to touch customers food. There was a sink behind the counter but I noted our server did not wash his hands before touching our food and had been touching the till computer/ fridge handles, jugs...basically everything behind the counter which is shared by all staff doing the same thing. Surely this isn't hygenic? All staff were doing this - this should not be a normal standard practice. So in summary - Patina has so much potential to be great but falls short due to the service and approach to allergies.

It’s the first time I’ve been to Patina and it was fantastic. The service was outstanding, food quality brilliant and our group had a great time. We will definitely be back.

A bit difficult to find as it’s on the new development on the edge of town and if you go in the wrong way you are blocked by barriers. However getting there was definitely worth it. The place was buzzing on a Sunday morning with people enjoying coffee and pastries in the sun, we then moved into the restaurant for lunch which is a lovely space as well. The service and food was delightful and made the trek worth it

Excellent venue and very attentive staff. We visited on a Saturday morning and the restaurant was very quiet - only three covers. Quality of the food was good but I’d appreciate a slightly wider breakfast/brunch menu- get me some sausages or pancakes please! I live locally so here, and their bakery next door, will become a regular place to visit I think. It would be good if they had a newsletter or more info on socials on current menus and what’s on - looks like they do live music but couldn’t find any info.
