From July 1st, 1957, there had been two owners of Pates, Cloyde Pate followed by the Gardner family of Chatham. Mr. Pate opened the doors to what would soon become one of Cape Cod’s most beloved restaurants. Once a cozy hamburger and ice cream stand, Pates grew to be a place of celebration, camaraderie, and community. From the bonds staff made during countless summer seasons, to the engagements, anniversaries, birthdays, and family gatherings, Pates has been a backdrop for exceptional moments and people.

We are honored to steward the next chapter of the Pates journey. A renovated space to create new memories and friends, Pates is still that very special place. With careful consideration, we have redefined this Chatham classic and are serving up an experience rooted in the best things in life: great food, good people, and lifelong memories.

Everything was pleasant from walking in the door and being greeted by the hostesses & their seating choice to the well timed waitress ( Heather) who went above and beyond delivering a free chowder and our flavorful cuisine. We had the seafood medley with surf & turf ending with banana crème for 2. This was our first time and we definitely hope to be back!

We arrived for an early 5:00pm reservation and were seated immediately. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable and the drinks incredible. We ordered the Koran chili bbq broccoli, oysters and chicken lemongrass dumplings for appetizers, they were very yummy! Our entrees the Seafood Pan Roast and White Bolognese are two dishes that are lovingly made!! Everything was delicious 😋

The food was outstanding the service was awesome and the ambience was very very nice. An exceptional place to eat!! Heather was our waitress and was very accommodating and made us feel like we were the only ones in the restaurant. Everyone was so kind and courteous! I would recommend eating there if you want a delicious and hot meal.

We are avid Pate fans and customers. But today, we were not told in advance about the buffet. At $85 it was extremely overpriced and did not even include one drink. It will be the last time we have a Mother’s Day at Pates. Very disappointed.

Mother’s day brunch was excellent.! We would definitely go back next year. Mom was extremely happy ❤️ Generous portions, Fantastic service and the food was Outstanding! Loved it!

Very good restaurant. Excellent service! Soft Shell Crab seemed a bit greasy and salty for my liking but in fairness…I have not had this very much in other places….Drink great, Bread basket and bread and crisps with bean dip very nice…..Recommend.

Just wonderful. The crab cake was one of the best I have had. My husband had the pork chop it was done to perfection. Ask for the bean dip!

The food and the service were excellent! My wife had the duck tacos appetizer and I had a wedge salad. She had grilled chicken and I had filet mignon. Everything was delicious, perfectly prepared and presented. The service was professional yet personal- extraordinary!
