    It’s rare anywhere (and especially in San Diego much less Bird Rock!) to find such solid execution of the fundamentals. They do the hard stuff well here; the demi glacé based sauce for the Steak au Poivre says it all. This is a two day sauce and the kitchen does not skip steps. The food here is PRO. I hope they keep it up!

    The truth is that everything here is exceptional…! Food is amazing, specially the jalapeño Caesar Salad and the burger, the Steak and frites is delicious too. Service is perfect, cool but on point. The decor resembles retro 60’s which is fun.

    This was our first time there. We had a good time. Menu was interesting and food was well cooked, tasty. Service did not disappoint either. Will go back again. We tried the olives and butter as starter. Very tasty and flavorful. Then we had the chicken and side of orange rice. Those were also very tasty. We may try the rib eye steak next time.

    Went to the restaurant with 2 friends to catch up. It was very noisy inside so we asked to be moved outside near heaters. They placed them near us, so we were comfortable and the patio was more relaxed and we could hear each other. The service was impeccable. They ran out of their special ravioli immediately after we were encouraged to order it so we could not try that. We ordered 2 appetizers and a pork chop entree to share. The food was okay but we each perceived nothing we had was special enough to make it worth returning for. The sommelier paired a perfect wine for us. Cocktail choices were many but nothing spoke to us. Overall it was a costly affair that was enjoyable because of good company and excellent service.

    One of the most exquisite culinary experiences. From an aesthetically pleasing ambiance (including a piano player and vibrant wallpaper) to an explosion of flavor with every dish. And pastries are to die-for, definitely make sure to leave room for desserts. The portions were generous for a Michelin-recognized place - which is always welcomed with our moderate appetites. The staff is also super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu/drinks (from the hosts to the bus boys to the servers). We went for our anniversary, and were even treated to a glass of champagne + a sweet little note from the staff to make us feel extra special. We will be coming again SOON and recommending Paradisaea to anyone else that will listen to us. One of the top 5 restaurants in all of Cali.

    The service by a blond Asian was excellent, very friendly and good recommendations. The chicken was amazing! The steak was sold out, the pork chop was good but too fatty for my liking. The branzino was fishy. The appetizers were great!!!! Tartare, crudo and the ravioli were all delicious! The desserts were great too. I would suggest ambient music would make the atmosphere better but it was very chic decor. The bathrooms needed a good cleaning! I went in 3 that were gross and the 4th was the least gross, but still had stains on it! Definitely will go back.

    This visit was to check out the new menu and drink items. It all exceeded my expectations! The raviolis with carrots not only looked stunning, it tasted amazing too! The chicken ballotine was technically superb and the jus was rich and lip smacking good! We ended the meal with a blood panna cotta amaziness. Hands down, still one of the finest meals in San Diego! Bravo!

    Outside tables are the way to go at Paradisea. Better spacing, heaters, and free of the industrial quality noise of the inner restaurant allows you to enjoy your experience. The food remains solid, the drink menu (as many are) on the sweet side, and the wine list marked up to the point of absurdity makes the place more of a fill in of your fine dining repertoire rather than a go-to.

    When you walk in the hostess greets you in a very nice manner, walking through the restaurant you get taken back to the 80’s with the green and the retro design. As soon as we sat down we were offered water, I loved the fact that the servers were very attentive with the water, as soon as my glass was half full they would come by and pour more water in my glass. We ordered everything at one since, that was recomended. The Cesar salad came out to our table in less than 5 minutes it was delicious with a urge amount of grated Parmesan. We the had the waygu Au Poivre it was delicious the veal medallions were also very tasty but the dish was very small for the price. It had 3 tiny medallions probably 2 inches max, a couple of mushrooms and a couple chipollini onions, super small for he price. The desserts were OK. We were seated at 5:10 we had finished by 6:20 the food was at our table super fast.

    We enjoyed the chef’s tasting menu and it was delicious. We especially liked the beets with whipped blue cheese and orange zest, the king salmon and cavalini dish, and the tender beef with exotic mushrooms in a carmelized sauce. The dessert was unique and memorable. Service was top notch.

    Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. The food was outstanding. And the ambience was nice. Top Quality all around! Our only challenge was finding a parking spot.

    The experience was nothing more than okay, and I felt like I was being rushed the entire meal. I barely had one sip of wine before the first course. Lots of amazing choices in the area, but for me, this is not one of them.

    This was our third visit to this restaurant in recent weeks and my third review. This is a well located and very nice restaurant, with a beautiful indoor dining room and nice outdoor dining, even though it is on the sidewalk of La Jolla Blvd in Bird Rock. Keep in mind that this was Easter Sunday and we booked at 5PM not realizing it was Sunday brunch. I take responsibility for that mistake...BUT I think the restaurant made some significant errors on this occasion. First...the pricing was extremely steep at +/- $150 per person for a prix fixe three course menu. Only a few tables were occupied and we were told that it had been "quiet all day". Service was just OK. The busser was outstanding, but the server was unhelpful and rather stingy with her wine pour. The menu started with a very sweet basket of donuts and breads. Good...but very heavy on the sugar. I chose pea panna cotta for a starter which was OK. Others had salad that was OK. The main course of salmon was OK but a bit too "soupy". The lamb with gigante beans was quite good and the portion was huge. The dessert was a ridiculously large and sweet sundae...not exactly what we were expecting. We will likely return because this restaurant has great potential. Unfortunately, they missed the mark badly on their Easter Sunday offering on all counts...menu, service, pricing and promotion.

    Each entree was incredible. There was no lack in the area of flavor. We enjoyed the Easter pre set brunch menu. 5 star each course. But the amuse was a basket of pastry’s, donuts danish and corn bread. Wonderfully baked. first course was a salad, the second petit filet and dessert. Dessert took 30 minutes, and the server said the chef was having a malfunction with the chocolate egg. With 3 cocktails total on the bill one being a mimosa brunch was $400 dollars. Overpriced. Possibly Easter premium? The buffet for Easter Sunday at the ball room in the hotel deli is 200 a person. (We annually attend this) And this is a buffet that DOES NOT SKIP on quality or luxury. This in contrast obviously made this brunch seem.. overpriced. As for service, could be improved. They hosted one brunch service. There wasn’t a need to shift change in the middle leaving us to ask the server assistant for bill, another cocktail and silverware. When brunch is $200/person, needs should be anticipated. I sat with my toddler on my lap for 20 minutes before waving someone down for high chair. Steak knives could have been put on the table as well instead of bread knives with the steak. The steak was tender enough that it still cut fine. FOOD AND ENVIRONMENT 5 star.

    I expected more. My veal medallions were excellent and the fresh scallops were good. The appetizers were fair and the 2 people that ordered steaks were displeased. I suggested they send them back but they kept them they were not eaten. The other 2 had the fish branzino I didn’t get a taste but they said just OK.

    We had reservations to sit outside, but it was raining. I received a call early in the day letting us know we would be moved to the dodo doughnut café, which was adjoined to the restaurant. We enjoyed sitting in that area, as it was much quieter than the main dining room. As for the service, food , friendliness and knowledge of staff, everything was absolutely incredible! Between the four of us, we had the scallops, the chicken, the branzino, and the pork chop. Every single meal was delicious to the last bite. We highly recommend this restaurant.

    This restaurant has gone through a transformation. The new chef, Jeff has energized the menu and greatly improved the quality of the food. Jeff, the new operations manager has made this a wonderful neighborhood experience! Bravo gentleman! We highly recommend this restaurant!

    My goodness, we had such a ball during our dinner. We were seated at the Chef’s tables, aka by the open kitchen where we could see all the cooking, and next to the bar which was very cute. Next time I’d definitely like to sit in the actual dining area to compare, it looked so nicely decorated. The food was impeccable, our favorite bite was the Brussels Sprout Hummus toast. It was fantastic!!! Everything was delicious, nothing let us down, from the drinks to the dessert. Everyone who works there is so friendly, our waiter was Cole and he amplified our experience so much! We raved about Paradisaea to everyone!

    I appreciate a restaurant that knows how to pace food appropriately, giving us time to savor each dish instead of piling them on one after the other without time to assimilate. Our server was delightful and serviceable. My first bubbly was not so bubbly so I requested for the next one to be a little more crisp. They brought over a brand new bottle and poured me a glass on the table. Thumbs up ;) Anyways, we had the oysters with meltable Yuzu Mosho ice, a substitute version of the jamón ibérico and the jalapeño Caesar to share. For the entrees we ordered the wagyu au poivre (fancy pepper sauce) and the burger which was mmm mmm mmm, both accompanied by duck fat fries. Delsss.

    We visited Paradisaea on a Thursday. I kept adding people to my reservation and they were very accommodating, even when I upped it to 10 people on the day before we were supposed to come in! Our table was ready on time and the service was excellent. We kept changing seats to socialize and our server kept it all organized and was smiling the whole time. The food and wine we ordered were expensive. There's no way around it. Appetizer portions and entree portions were about the same, meaning the entrees were sort of small. However, the preparation, visuals, and taste were fantastic. Lots of texture, colors, and contrasting but well-paired flavors made every dish outstanding. Another nice perk was that as the restaurant emptied, we were ordering dessert and there was no sense of rush or urgency. I asked for a cake that was usually only for the chef's menu, and the server made it happen for us. All in all it was a great experience and the perfect place for a celebration.

    Your feedback is fantastic, but here's a refined version: We had a delightful experience at the restaurant! Starting with the appetizers, each dish was incredibly flavorful and well-prepared. The ambiance inside, adorned with vibrant colors, added to the overall charm of the place. Moving on to the main course, the steak, scallops, and branzino were all equally delectable, showcasing the chef's expertise. To finish off the meal, the affogato was a perfect blend of coffee and sweetness, while the other desserts we indulged in were equally delightful. Highly recommend trying out their diverse menu!

    Every dish was extraordinary. Easily the best dinner we had while visiting San Diego for a week. Maitre d’hotel was charming and made a great wine recommendation. Desert cocktail was superb. Paid a premium price but got a premium meal.

    We were excited about trying this restaurant for the first time. We thought the Michelin rating meant something. Sadly, we were very disappointed. My wife had a pear salad and I had oysters. She said the pear salad lacked flavor and was bland. My oysters were pretty good, but they put their sauce of every oyster, rather than serving it as a side. Sometimes I just want to taste only the oyster. For mains, my wife had the pork chop and I had the branzino. The pork chop itself was good, but it's served without anything else on the plate. My branzino was ok, but a little dry. It was my wife's birthday, so they comped us a scoop of sorbet, that really was pretty awful. It was raspberry but had a saltwater, fishy taste. Their drinks are extremely expensive and small. My $20 Filthy Martini was served in the smallest Martini glass I've seen. There are many other great restaurants in the area. Skip this one.

    Simply amazing! Loved everything about dinner from the beginning to the end. The food was so delicious. We choose the chef special dinner and it was just perfect. Would highly recommend.

    My wife and I went for the first time last night and absolutely love this place. Our server, Taylor, was positively phenomenal and guided us through an exceptional cocktail menu and steered us 100% in the right direction for food as well. Everything we tasted was delicious (my favorite dish was the scallops and my wife's favorite was a carrot dish). We sat outside at night and the space heaters kept us nice and comfortable. Top notch all around. We'll be going back and highly recommend you do as well. Noise Note: We sat outside in part because my hearing is bad, so I can't speak to the noise level inside. Outside was perfect for me though.

    Delicious food, great service! We sat next to the kitchen, which was super fun seeing all the action. The vibe is comfortable, elevated, and fun. Special thanks to our server Cole and GM Patrick for making it a wonderful dinner.

    Entire group did not like oyster app. Entrees were all delicious. Some signature cocktails had way too much crushed ice in them. Wine selections were well paired by server rec's. VERY expensive overall and for what you get on the seafood dishes. Service was outstanding.
