Food was awesome. Server was not awesome. I’ve heard this from several people- the service here is consistently very bad.

Overall experience here was underwhelming. Dinner took 2 hours, with huge delays in service. Additionally, staff forgot to check in with us to order food, and did not provide an itemized receipt at the end of dinner. The one thing this place has going for it is the quality of the food and the drinks themselves. This is a space could be so much more with slight improvements to staffing.

Our waiter looked very distracted. I ask him something about the menu and he was quick and short about it . When it came to dessert. My chocolate soufflé was burnt (the top) and when I mentioned it he smiled and gave me a thumbs up. I don’t think he was listening. I felt the service could have been better. We were a family of four. Lastly, the restrooms was dirty.

Let's start with the outstanding: Iris, our waitress was efficient, personable, and a delight. Her attitude was upbeat even when we were not ready to order multiple times. And, when we asked about ingredients because of my friend's food allergy, she checked with the chef more than once and had a positive attitude the whole time. As noted in earlier reviews on this site, I am a part owner of a popular (40+ years) restaurant in NYC and I hope that all of our employees are as terrific as Iris was. Onward. The outdoor space is quite attractive with well-spaced tables and pleasant surroundings. The noise from Venice Blvd is oddly muffled. That is a good thing. The food is inventive, often as slight variations from the normal preparation one sees. Both Karen and I enjoyed the scallops on half shell, tart with a bit of a kick--sort of an amuse bouche. I'll take a pass on the burrata with prosciutto, mostly tasteless, even the meat. The chutney was a plus, but the dish is not a showstopper. Because of her allergy, Karen passed on the Singapore corn, a whipped dip with an infinite jest of flavors. I liked it, but it might be too sweet for some. We both enjoyed the eggplant Parmesan, with little cheese but a lot of smoky flavor. Finally, we had the Bronzino, prepared differently from the dozens of Bronzini Karen and I have eaten before. Cut thick and seasoned with a bit of chili or similar spice, it came across as baked rather than broiled (my taste buds might have betrayed me here). Variations on a Bronzino theme are always welcome to me, but Karen found it too un-Bronzino-like to like it. We skipped desert as we had to try to emulate the young, trim crowd who were dining "with" us on the patio--very Venice-now folks.

Had a lovely birthday lunch. Everyone at the restaurant was very nice. Our waiter was attentive without being intrusive and the food and wine were great. Beautiful restaurant, friendly folks and great food. A little pricey but worth it

Food was decent enough but not for the price. The dips were expensive and bread was not provided and had to be bought for the dips. Sides were small and also not included in meals. Great ambience and nice staff but food was overall a let down. Not worth the approximate $100 per person.

Food and atmosphere were great. But our waitress was terrible. She acted as if it was a huge effort for her to take care of us. She was not attentive at all and acted as if she just wanted to do the bare minimum. It was very disappointing as we were there to celebrate my daughter’s birthday.
