Food was excellent - nice variety of sandwiches and desserts. Loved the green matcha tea. Service fast, efficient and everyone very nice. The only room for improvement would be if you are charging more for the teas please let customers know in advance so they know to expect an extra charge on their bill.

We came for afternoon tea service party of 4. It is in Palma lounge, which was the atmosphere is completely different for afternoon tea service. Only for a pot of tea came after 35 mins of seating, bubbles served before water. Only one stand came after 45 mins we all looked at the one stand, confused what to do, we have been told other 3 will be coming up shortly, after 10 mins manager came and stated that they are short by the desserts for 2 guests, and they will happy to compensate for the 2 people charge and she took it off from our bill, We never had chance to get explanation which is which, we are guessing our desserts, sandwiches by our assumption. I guess it wasn’t great afternoon tea experience but a little weird. Server was doing her best to serve all lounge almost looked like she is by herself.

Beautiful high ceilings. Light bright space. Pleasant staff. High tea was modern sophisticated - elegant pastries with raspberry scone as a stand out. Tea sandwiches were nice although the bread was a little dry (obviously premade not made to order) but they tasted good. Portions on the smaller refined size. Not a lot of variety in the tea flavors but the traditional ones were available. Would definitely return. Most in our party ranked it a 7 or 8 out of 10.

I’m wondering why there is a 20% service fee and a wellness fee. I heard LA discontinued the wellness fees. I know at upscale restaurants they add fees because they’re constantly clearing the table and providing fresh cutlery and dinnerware with each course but that wasn’t the case at Palma. Otherwise, always enjoy the ambience.

We went to the Palma lounge for the tea service because we love the Proper and have had great food and service at both their restaurants in Santa Monica and Austin. However, while the tea course was excellent the service was not what we expected. We sat for 10 minutes before getting any water then continued to sit for 30 minutes before we even got our tea. We had sat for close to 40 before the food was brought out and our server never came to check on us, ask if I wanted to order a drink from the bar which we did which is why we asked for a menu and, and overall seemed completely scattered. This is understandable but the lounge wasn’t even busy to warrant not being able to cover his tables. Loved the food service was non existent.
