Breakfast was delicious, but a very adult experience. Limited breakfast menu, and my son ordered the chicken and waffle and was still hangry when he was done. Portions were just meeting adequate, but prepared well

Went to the Sunday Jazz Brunch - menu is limited but my daughter and I found some good choices. The Shrimp and Grits were top notch. My daughter really enjoyed her salad - she added the grilled chicken; I got a taste and it was juicy and well marinated. Vibe was great - band went around to tables but luckily we weren’t a “victim”. Overall a great experience.

The crabmeat cheesecake was unique & remarkable Service was outstanding and efficient. The specialty cocktail was perfect. The Pinot Noir was ordinary.

The food was traditional and outstanding. The jazz trio was excellent and played a wide range of songs. The champagne was crisp, dry, and refreshing. Excellent brunch. I highly recommend Palace Cafe.

The food was excellent as always. The service was perfect. We had a crying baby at our back but it happens to everyone occasionally. The prices have certainly increased in the last 18 months. I guess that is why the first floor dining room was nearly empty on a Friday night. Crawfish cheesecake and Bananas Foster were over the top as always.

The food and service at this restaurant is always superb. Today we were quite unnerved by the Chef/expediter that seemed to have a frantic, false sense of urgency. He was running all over the dining room, slamming down tray stands and swinging trays over peoples heads and also through standing people. He is an accident waiting to happen. He was flying up and down the stairs as though it was a “timed” event. He also jumped up and slapped the doorway as he was returning to the kitchen a few times? Other tables were talking about it as he was quite a distraction for a nice lunch. This behavior is rude and unprofessional. Not sure what his panic is! But he needs to calm down.

Dena was an outstanding server and all her suggestions were excellent. We split the crabmeat cheesecake which was yummy, and Dena provided me with a recipe card to take home. Our entrees were the gumbo yaya and crawfish etouffee which were both delicious. My husband asked for some shrimp to add in and they were grilled and seasoned perfectly. Finally, Dena prepared the bananas Foster tableside and shared both how the dish got its name and how I could prepare it at home.(not happening!)A fun night!

Had dinner here a few years ago and it was very good. The ambiance is still good but the food was well below par this time I had the crawfish and my wife the mussels. Both portions were of poor quality, tasteless and extremely small and meager portions. Service was extremely slow and it was very noisy. I do not recommend it and will not be returning again..

We were very disappointed with the food and the service. Had to ask three times for milk for coffee; coffee was no longer hot when it came. The four tiny slices of banana and n the bananas foster pancakes were brown and clearly not fresh. Cheddar biscuits were not available. The crepes with fresh berries were clearly not fresh. The entire dish was refrigerator temperature and the filling tasted only if cold cream cheese. Sad experience for a Brennen restaurant. The place was only about a quarter full so doesn’t seem to be an issue where staff was overwhelmed.

Disapointing experience at a restaurant I have gone to for years. They out of some menu items. Server seemed to disappear later in our experience. In a town with as many great choices as New Orleans has a restaurant has to be good. On this night Palace Cafe was not.

Lively bright restaurant! Was very busy but we had a reservation. My husband got the seafood pasta and it was excellent! Past was fresh, seafood and veggies too. I had the Shrimp Tchefuncte the mushrooms, sauce and rice were flavorful and delicious. The shrimp was a big disappointment not fresh at all. It had that aged supermarket been on the shelf too long flavor and smell. I should have sent it back! I had the crème brûlée for dessert which came topped with a couple of blackberries and was looking gut, not too sweet.

If you’re looking for a nice place to relax and listen to New Orleans jazz while you dine, this is not the place to go. Instead, it was very loud. Too loud to even communicate with the wait staff let alone, each other. I was excited to try a couple menu items but could not get past the extremely high, cafeteria like noise-level so we quickly downed our drinks, paid the check, and found a much better option a few blocks away. Very disappointed after reading such great reviews.

Palace is such a beautiful space. Our server, Dena, was attentive, friendly, helpful and delightful. The Lewis Carroll inspired cocktails were delicious, as was the crabmeat cheesecake.

The actual dining experience was great! I think our waiter’s name was Carl and he was so fun and so caring. But, I am very disappointed with the booking process. I had a reservation for 8 people booked for over a month, I changed it to 7 and then back to 8 within a few hours, but it would not allow me to keep the original time. Then, I tried adding a 9th person and they would not let me. But, I’m disappointed because there were SO MANY empty tables and seats around us so our extra guest could easily have been accommodated…..

Honestly, I was disappointed with our dining experience. I booked Palace Cafe’ because of wonderful memories dining here years ago and was disappointed to see the level of service and the food have changed. I don’t fault our server, entirely, as he was accurate with our orders for our table of 7 but things moved very slow. Our wine and beer order sat ready at the bar but we had to ask as so much time had passed. The food came out slow and my husband had to send his fish back as it was old and had been in the freezer too long. The gumbo was fabulous- best thing on the menu, so he exchanged the old fish for a bowl of this. We felt like the food did not arrive hot and fresh, but more like it sat under the heat lamps for a while. Overall, it was just not great and the whole evening I sat frustrated, knowing there are so many wonderful restaurants in NOLA and here we were at a place that was sub-par. Will not go back and feel like we lost out on one of our limited dinners here!

Had a great time and a wonderful meal. The food was great. The seafood pasta was flavorful and generous. Loved the turtle soup! There was an a vocal trio singing. They were lots of fun as moved around the room. Our server was helpful and informative.

Great atmosphere, but the food was disappointing. My black drum was mushy, causing me to suspect it had been frozen. A member of our party ordered a medium burger, but received one that was well-done and dry (the Palace Cafe did not charge her for it and offered to replace it with something else, to its credit). The drink orders for two members of our group were incorrect. That being said, the trio that entertained at the tables was great, and it was generally a fun atmosphere. We'll probably return there in the future, since we have enjoyed the Palace Cafe in the past, so it's worth another try - maybe it was just a bad night.

Attended for jazz brunch. The music was fun and the food was incredible, some of the best Moules Frites I've ever had. Best of all was the service from Pamela, who took great care to accommodate a food allergy. Thank you all around!!

We have eaten here many times and were disappointed with the amount of food served this time. We always get the fried oyster appetizer and there has always been 6 oysters, but this time it was only 4. for $16 The Weirlin salad was also small for $12. The Gumbo was not as good as it usually is and the Shrimp Pan Roast was really good but only 5 shrimp for $17. Overall we were disappointed ith our latest dinner here but maybe they were just cutting back on portions because they were very busy with the peopl ein NOLA for the French Quarter Festival. We probably won't be coming back here anytime soon. We live in New Orleans, so there are many other good places to eat we are familiar with.

The food was really good, but it was a unique experience -- which kind of adds to the charm of NOLA. I would definitely recommend and go again (and I go to NOLA about once a year - been about 20 times) but I think this was a one off situation for not great service for us coming at the end of a week that had a big rain, nearly hurricane weather and flooding earlier in the week. It took almost an hour and a half to get pre-meal bread to our table. However, our cocktails and wine arrived shortly after ordering (so we didn't notice the food for a while lol). We think the order got lost as there was a big party of what looked like 50 plates an upstairs private room. Once we alerted the hostess she got us everything and the food came out all at once about 10 mins later so that was a little annoying but again, I think this was a one time experience so I gave a 4 stars! Also there appeared to be some plumbing issues in the bathroom and we saw some water coming from the ceiling in the kitchen, so giving them some grace!
