In 2017, Chef Kevin J. Lee opened highly-anticipated and award winning PAI Honolulu after a four-year search for a restaurant space to offer guests a warm and welcoming experience. His cuisine highlights flavors and ingredients from Hawaii and brings it together with global techniques to present a fun and unique experience. His passion for his craft is evident in his commitment to curate as many of the ingredients that he uses in his menus in-house which has won the restaurant many awards including Hawaii's Best Restaurant, Best Chef's Tasting Menu, and more.

From arrival, the experience was underwhelming at most. There were many little details that created a poorly executed service on top of it being unprofessional and overpriced. Drink orders were taken and appetizer order was given while we looked at our menus, drinks took forever and were made and delivered individually. Appetizer came out before all of our drinks and before we were able to order our meal. Time to order dinner was about 45 mins into being seated. We all ordered the four course meal, we got oysters for an appetizer which were good, salads were probably the best part of the meal, pastas were similar to boxed stroganoff, entrees all had the same sauce (which was overwhelming and made all the dishes taste the same), and dessert…. This part was the most underwhelming, the panna cotta was no bigger than a quarter, the bread pudding was bland and the malasada should’ve been purchased at Leonard’s. In the end, the meal took over three hours and the service was bad. I would not recommend this based on the poor disorganized service alone. The food was okay, the atmosphere and location are poor.

An amazing dining experience with the most exquisite dishes bursting with flavor. Chef Kevin's expertise ranks at the top of the chart as he turns a traditional local dish into a culinary masterpiece. The most amazing restaurant! I cannot recommend this place enough. Not only was the food and tasting menu absolutely incredible but the hostess, employees and chefs were absolutely incredible. The most accommodating, wonderful, kind people. They made our night so beautiful and special I cannot thank them enough for all that they did. You will not regret it here! The food is amazing- just as good as a Michelin star meal. Thank you for the best night and experience.

Not sure how I stumbled on my favorite restaurant in the States while on vacation. Was blown away by everything. The type of place I want to bring my picky parents too. Perfect for special occasions.

One of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had! Chef and the Sommelier hosted us for our honeymoon celebration and prepared a fantastic meal with an incredibly unique wine pairing. Each dish was elegantly flavored and perfectly complimented by the wine. Every person who greeted us knew we were celebrating our honeymoon and congratulated us. Each person also spent time engaging with us about our trip. The service was outstanding with fantastic attention to detail. Justine went above and beyond to make our experience unforgettable. We cannot recommend this restaurant enough and will be back to visit every time we visit Oahu!

As someone who basically never leaves reviews, my first time at PAI deserves a glowing review. I was most impressed by the outstanding service, care, and attention to detail from the staff! My friend and I each had the three-course menu, and the food quality and selection were excellent. I would definitely go again and recommend to others, especially for a special occasion.

We dined on the chef tasting and it was good highlight was the Pasta dish was amazing flavor explosion in your mouth all the other dishes did not have that same effect. Wine pairing was good and found a few gems. Service was great and nice quiet night. I did see another guest enjoying the ala cart menu wondering if i should have created my own tasting as they seem to be enjoying each dish. I have been to a number of tastings. Brooklyn Fare Commanders Palace and this by far was a disappointment dishes just lacked that chef tasting elevation in flavor and showcase. Cocktails were amazing.

We had an absolutely amazing experience! I ordered the vegan 4 course and my friend had the Chef’s 10 course. First of all, it’s difficult to find a vegan course menu from a fine dinning restaurant, the taste was outstanding! From the, beet salad, curried chow fun noodles, chickpea Madras over rice and finally the mango tapioca..every dish was perfection! My friend enjoyed every dish as well she said everything was absolutely delightful. She especially had high praises for the Samoan crab shumai, duck confit katsu bao, squid luau agnolotti and the condensed, flavorful, out of this world 90 day dry age beef.The strawberry panna cotta was to die for! First unsure if she could finish a 10 course meal but she finished everything happily! We had the most delightful first class dinner, thank you PAI Honolulu. You are one of the BEST Restaurant in town!
