Welcome to Ozumo, a Japanese restaurant located on Santana Row in San Jose. Ozumo was one of the first restaurants to combine sushi and robata cooking under one roof. Ozumo offers exquisite robata grilled items and masterfully crafted makimono. Ozumo takes you on a culinary adventure that celebrates the rich traditions of Japanese cuisine. Ozumo introduced chilled, high-quality sake to its’ guests, by curating one of the finest collections from Japan’s most esteemed brewers.

Ozumo remains committed to its culinary roots while also elevating its menu with the assistance of a new Chef Partner, Chef Yukinori Yamamoto. Chef Yamamoto, who embarked on his culinary journey at the age of 18, has accumulated 33 years of experience in crafting Japanese cuisine and is now making a formidable impact at Ozumo.

Food was okay not matching the hype. And very poor service. P.S. they will give you good service if you buy expensive bottle of wine. Overall service-food and all is 2.5/5. Very disappointed.

Casual dinner with friends and family. We were seated right away. Pleasant hostess and server . Very accomodating. Food came out quick. I enjoyed all the food.

Very tasty food, beautifully presented and a fun setting, combined with attentive service right at Santana Row. We enjoyed the outdoor setting, which was reflecting the current cherry blossom season. Though outdoors, music was playing from the speaker and it was a bit loud. Maybe not the best place if you are with a bigger group - or have a bigger group next to you. But the food is special and service is fantastic.

The sashimi was really good and fresh - loved the tuna belly, uni and salmon belly. The appetizers I tried (Edamame and Miso soup) were not very edible. I returned the grilled cod because I couldn't eat it and ordered the hamachi kama instead - I ate it but it was ok - not very fresh. I would probably stick with the sashimi and rolls here, and if I did that, I would probably be giving a 5* rating.

Food presentation/plating was nice but taste and flavor wasn’t great. Nice place but they charge “Nobu” like prices and the food isn’t nearly as good. Service was good and the food came out promptly. Again taste to value is the only complaint.

Went on a Tuesday evening, and it was packed! Loud! Yes, it was energetic, but if you're looking to get together with a couple of friends for good conversation, that makes it difficult. Wait staff was kind, informative, and apologetic (there were so many people, they ran out of glasses for sake, and had to get creative!). Recommend the birikama (hamachi collar, careful this has bones) and gindara (black cod) as entrees. Edename was tastey!

Ambiance is nice, but can be a bit loud inside. Our server was nice, attentive, and didn't rush us at all despite it being a busy Friday night. The food didn't impress us. You can get better quality roles for cheaper at smaller sushi joints. We ordered two roles and two total glasses of wine for $100. We would have ordered more if the roles were better quality. Most of the stars are given for the staff and ambiance
