This was our first time trying Ovation. Reviews overall seemed positive. Party of 8 on Mother’s Day at 4:00 PM. Arrived 10 minutes early since the priority seating is not a guaranteed reservation. But we were seated promptly right as we arrived. Even at an off hour, the place was still busy. Our server, Jessica, brought drinks and took our order. Salads came out a few minutes along with some bread and butter. Entrees came out piece meal though. First 4, then a few minutes later 2 more, and then finally the last 2. I understand with a larger party that there be some delay without enough space on one tray table, but it was several minutes. Our server ran a few other table’s plates out to them while we waited, but no word or signal about the remaining entrees. As a practice, we typically wait for everyone to be served prior to eating, except for the 2 kids. But it’s busy with it being Mothers Day. Still, several minutes went by before everyone had food. I ordered the chicken and smoked brisket with a baked sweet potato. Chicken was slightly dry (perhaps from waiting). It was only a small portion though (menu said 5oz.), and the brisket amount wasn’t much more. The brisket was also a bit dry and haphazardly chopped. It had no appearance of a smoke ring either. It was passable, but not something I would order again. Used OpenTable to put in a request for us to bring in a cake as we also celebrated a birthday. I sent a message via the app. No response to either. So day of, I called to ask if we could bring in a cake and see if we needed to bring in our own plates and utensils. Person who answered the phone, Ben, asked his manager who said we could bring in a cake but there would be a $2 per person charge ($16 for a part of 8), but we’d be able to use their plates and utensils. When the bill came, charge was $27. I asked about it and was told the fee was $3 per person. But $27 would mean 9 people. They reduced by $3. More than what we were told over the phone.

Food was excellent. Nice variety, especially since we were a big group! Jason was the BEST waiter, always checking back with us, keeping the orders straight, my drink refilled and entertaining us along the way with his sense of humor!

Adrianna was very welcoming, as was the entire staff… very good Smokey and BBQ flavors in the tasty menu… warm atmosphere, a locals favorite!

I have visited this restaurant on many occasions over the last few years and always find the staff friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and value for money. They always have ‘deal’ evenings which are well worth it.

Food is outstanding, always consistently good. Tina, our server, could not have been more attentive and friendly. The prices are more than reasonable. This is our new favorite place to eat.

First time visitors. We enjoyed the patio. Our waitress was excellent. The food was very good. We will be back. We will try to select a night when the patrons are bit less noisy.
