This was our second visit. We waited 15 minutes to get our drinks from the bar, just well drinks and a beer. The food was mediocre at best, nothing memorable. My biggest issue is that it just felt dirty. It needs a deep cleaning. The table and the menus felt dirty and greasy. Service was slow and a few things we asked for never made it to the table.

We made a reservation ahead of time. We had a large group of 20 people. They sat us in our own private area which was great because we had children in our party. The food was great! Service was amazing, especially our waitress Karol! She knew everything and anything about the menu. Food came out so quick, especially for the kids. 10 out of 10 recommend.

We celebrated a birthday at Ovation Bistro last night. We each ordered 18 oz. ribeye steaks with various sides - baked potato, baked sweet potato with butter, cinnamon and sugar, side Caesar salad, broccoli, etc. The steaks were delicious; meaty, juicy, seasoned well and grilled perfectly (medium rare). The sides were all tasty as well. We enjoyed a bottle of reasonably priced Merlot (Argentinian) and a cocktail with our meal. Afterwards, we enjoyed a chocolate mousse cake with ice cream for dessert which was more than enough for the three of us to share. Our waitress even lit a candle and sung “happy birthday” for us. Overall, the meal, food and service were all excellent! We’d definitely recommend Ovation Bistro for special occasions or a night out. But be forewarned, the noise level can be a bit loud and the ambiance is more akin to a sports bar than fine dining establishment. That said, you really can’t go wrong with the food or service. We’ve dined here many times and consider it one of our “go to” places in Davenport. Tip: Sign up for Ovation Bistro’s Rewards program to learn about special offers. If you plan on dining midweek they frequently offer great promotions and discounts.

This was our first time trying Ovation. Reviews overall seemed positive. Party of 8 on Mother’s Day at 4:00 PM. Arrived 10 minutes early since the priority seating is not a guaranteed reservation. But we were seated promptly right as we arrived. Even at an off hour, the place was still busy. Our server, Jessica, brought drinks and took our order. Salads came out a few minutes along with some bread and butter. Entrees came out piece meal though. First 4, then a few minutes later 2 more, and then finally the last 2. I understand with a larger party that there be some delay without enough space on one tray table, but it was several minutes. Our server ran a few other table’s plates out to them while we waited, but no word or signal about the remaining entrees. As a practice, we typically wait for everyone to be served prior to eating, except for the 2 kids. But it’s busy with it being Mothers Day. Still, several minutes went by before everyone had food. I ordered the chicken and smoked brisket with a baked sweet potato. Chicken was slightly dry (perhaps from waiting). It was only a small portion though (menu said 5oz.), and the brisket amount wasn’t much more. The brisket was also a bit dry and haphazardly chopped. It had no appearance of a smoke ring either. It was passable, but not something I would order again. Used OpenTable to put in a request for us to bring in a cake as we also celebrated a birthday. I sent a message via the app. No response to either. So day of, I called to ask if we could bring in a cake and see if we needed to bring in our own plates and utensils. Person who answered the phone, Ben, asked his manager who said we could bring in a cake but there would be a $2 per person charge ($16 for a part of 8), but we’d be able to use their plates and utensils. When the bill came, charge was $27. I asked about it and was told the fee was $3 per person. But $27 would mean 9 people. They reduced by $3. More than what we were told over the phone.
