Connue de toutes les générations pour son hospitalité, la tenancière Elouise Adams Jones, alias Ouisie, vous propose un choix éclectique de plats du Sud, qui se marrieront parfaitement avec une excellente carte des vins. La hauteur de plafond et les ventilateurs de la salle principale, rappellent l'ambiance d'un manoir Texan. Le terrasse couverte, où l'on peut manger, donne sur le patio et le jardin, autant que le "Cooper's Wine Bin", qui vous offre un espace supplémentaire pour vous souper et vous divertir. Le menu du jour propose des spécialités comme le très apprécié fromage au piment , les crevettes et gruau, les populaires huîtres de la côte du Golfe populaires et bien sûr, le menu spécial du mardi: le poulet frit de Ouisie, connu pour ses différentes récompenses, accompagné de son pudding de maïs. Une délicieuse assiette de filet de boeuf de première qualité ou un duo de cailles farcies au crabe et dorées au Cognac sont de bons exemples des plats du jour que l'on peut trouver chaque jour au tableau. Our group of 8 appreciated the friendly service at Ouisie’s. We particularly liked the fresh fish and all the sides that come with each entree. Easy to hear each other.

Always consistently good. Waiter was especially good this time. We needed a light dinner as it was early and we were headed to a play - very nicely accommodated.

Came here to celebrate my cancer free results. Greeted by the lovely and friendly Freda. I was with my friend who indeed had just left the hospital three days ago. So we were in the best of moods. Then we met Jose, the waiter who never smiles and looks like he is smelling cow manure. I even told him we were celebrating and that he should smile. He replied that he is VERY SERIOUS. Really? have been here for the Kings Coronation and other great events but never again if Jose is my waiter. He actually cracked a smile later but it was TOO LATE. Ouisie’s can do better than this. I want to be served with charm and friendliness. Have Freda teach him to smile. I AM FURIOUS!!

I have not been to Ouisie’s in several years. I was surprised that there were only about 5 tables filled during Sunday brunch. The food was as good as always, however the service and decor has declined. Even though there were just a few tables filled we were placed at a table directly by the banquet room door. There must have been a large party later because during our entire meal they were carrying chairs and other things into the room which was directly by our chairs. I should have ask to move so that is on me, but I didn’t want the trouble after we had already had drinks and had ordered appetizers. We finished our appetizers and waited for a long period of time before they even came to take our order for the main meal. Bottom line food was good but won’t be back. I can get both good food and good service elsewhere.

Celebrating our friend’s birthday was incredible at Ousie’s Table!! I originally made reservations for eight and they happily accommodated us for 9 people. Our reservations Was at 1:30 and we did not leave until after five and in no shape, way or form did we feel rushed. Our server was so sweet and so gentle, even took the time to separate our bills individually. The food was delicious and the mimosas YUMMY!! In a day and age where service has fallen to the wayside, thank you so much Ouisie’s for the lovely dining experience!

Lunch on our anniversary for wife and I. Food was ok but service rather rushed tbh. Had just finished starter and main popped onto table. One of us had seafood crepe which unfortunately had a whole shrimp tail shell in it which spoiled it’s otherwise tasty promise. Waiter was advised; said he’d feedback to kitchen.

After over 20 years of patronage, I think we've had our last visit to a once-beloved institution of Houston fine dining. Arriving on a Sunday evening, the hostess told us that alternate accommodation had to be made for our 6:30p reservation for 6. The table intended for us was, inexplicably, 'still occupied' at that early hour. They instead sat us in a hastily-expanded corner booth, and with our backs up against the table behind us. All evening, the waitstaff struggled mightily squeezing behind my seat to service the far end of the table. The service staff seemed short-handed, with a bewildered waiter handling too many tables. Cocktail menu was only provided on-request. The appetizers and salads were coursed separately instead of together - resulting in half our table waiting patiently while the other half ate, and then vice versa. That added another 20-30 minutes to the length of our meal. When our bottle of wine was opened table side, the waiter poured hardly a teaspoon into my glass - not enough to swizzle or smell, and barely enough to taste. The only positives to report were the tasty entrees when they finally arrived - well-plated and hearty portions. We all found ourselves missing the vibrant and exciting experience of dining at the Ouisie's of our memory. Seemingly the end of an era.

Ouisie’s has been one of my favorite places to have lunch with a friend, but this time I was very disappointed and probably won’t be going back. I ordered the lump crab salad and after a few bites realized the crab wasn’t fresh. Bad enough that I hoped it wouldn’t make me sick. I told the waiter to take it back and I wasn’t charged for it. I would have thought they would have been horrified and tried to make it right, but no one apologized or seemed concerned at all.

We wanted to start our anniversary celebration during brunch at Ouisie's Table. I requested a quiet table and was sat right next to the waiter stand and a bridal shower. The barrier used to block off areas kept falling and hitting me in the head. The food was on point, beautiful restaurant, service and noise was not.

My friend and I met for a pleasant brunch and an opportunity to catch up on our ongoing lives. We had that and more with excellent service from our waiter, good food from the kitchen along with a great drink from the bar. We even had an un-expected style show put on by the "glow" of attending members of a baby shower for Melissa.

I think if they are not ready to be attentive at 5 pm then they should open later, The bread brought to the table was stale, we waited 40 minutes for our dinner with only one other table in the restaurant. My trout was barely warm, if not considered cold. A lot of waiters there to serve but just standing around. Noticed as I was leaving that the was a party in one of the bigger rooms, maybe that affect the dining experience.

Have been customers at Ouisies for years. Never experienced such a combination of poor food and apathetic service. Never like to write a review like this but when food arrives inedible and then disguised as a different plate and same inedible food returned, I have to comment. Even our server told us that things have changed for the worse in the kitchen. Not worth another try. So sad to lose what was once a grande damme of Houston cuisine.

We were there for Easter so it was hectic for the wait staff. The food was Excellent! Noise level a bit high but tended to be less as some patrons left. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

Went with party of 10 - food was brought out warm not hot - one chicken dish was undercooked. Water servers kept reaching over one side of the table to fill water on other side, instead of walking around, constantly disrupting conversations and jostling center seated guest. Food was fine but nothing that tasted unique enough to go back. Servers were very accommodating but seemed out of sorts. Disappointed with Easter brunch selections and servers attitude. Probably wont go back unless invited.

We had an amazing Easter brunch at Ouisie’s! The food choices were excellent and the food was delicious. My only complaint was it did take a while to get our water refilled but I know it was super busy and our waiter was definitely running a lot. Once he got some help, service improved.

Ouise’s Table is one of our favorite restaurants. This particular time was a huge disappointment particularly since we took very close friends as our guests to celebrate their wedding anniversary. The service was terrible. Our friends appetizer arrived and my wife’s and my appetizer did not come for another 15 minutes and then they were the wrong appetizers so we had to wait a little longer to get what we ordered. one of the steaks filet mignon ordered medium, pink throughout, came well done. The manager however was very gracious and offered to cook another steak but at this point we had been at the restaurant almost 90 minutes &everybody was eating their entrees and my wife did not want to wait for another steak to be cooked but would rather have eaten with everyone else. All in all I was embarrassed with our guests and it was not a very enjoyable evening. Ouisie’s just didn’t have it together last night!
