Pizza is simple food. But it doesn’t have to be ordinary.
Since 2009 when we opened our first slice shop on Congress Street in downtown Portland, we’ve been striving to elevate the pizza experience. It starts with the ingredients – high quality, local when possible – and the toppings – creative and comforting. Mashed potatoes? Tortellini? Cranberries on a pizza? These are just a few of the things we tried – and they worked. “The Masher” with mashed potato, scallion, and bacon is one of our most popular pies. And people thought it was weird when we first put it on the menu.
Making simple food isn’t easy. We are continuously working to make sure every pizza is perfect and every slice unforgettable. Whether it be from one of our slice counters, or in one of our full service dining rooms, every member of our team is motivated by this goal of consistently well-executed, uncomplicated food.

At OTTO, each signature pie is uniquely composed, from its base to its seasonings. Due to the nature of the compositions, the following signature pie combinations are not available as 1/2 & 1/2 pies: Butternut Squash, Ricotta & Cranberry, Mashed Potato, Bacon & Scallion. We are happy to compose 1/2 & 1/2 pies featuring our less involved combinations - although for best results, we recommend two small pies instead
Gluten-Free Crust Pizza 12"US$13.75
All pies available on gluten-free crust (with the exception of Three-Cheese Tortellini). OTTO's gluten-free options are appropriate for guests with mild gluten sensitivity. However, they are not recommended for guests with celiac disease. While the crust is prepared off-site in a 100% gluten-free production facility, current store operations cannot guarantee that each handmade pizza does not contain trace amounts of gluten

It was a great place, and we really enjoyed our pizza. One pizza came a bit late due to a mixup in the kitchen, and they comp’ed it. I was very impressed with how nice they were.

The food quality was excellent - super-fresh fresh House Salad and a large 4-Cheese Pizza, our favorite. Seating was a bit cramped, but the attentive service and high food quality make it definitely worth it.

Pizza wasn’t cooked enough. Ambience was great. Service was OK. I’d recommend it for the atmosphere but don’t go if you are expecting good pizza.

As always, Otto’s Brookline was a total delight. The staff is friendly and attentive, and the salad (my friend and I always get the awesome caesar) and the pizza (small cheese and sausage/vidalia onion, both crispy crust) were soooo good. We go with the early dinner crowd, so lots of families and little kids. Great fun atmosphere! can’t wait to go again next week!

OTTO is by far our favorite pizza in Boston. The crust has the perfect crispy char and balance of toppings, all fresh and unique. Eating in is nothing fancy, but great for families and a casual evening out, and amazingly not too loud even when it's full, which is more important than most restaurants realize when choosing where to eat. We don't order pizza very often, but when we do OTTO is the only place we order from as well. On a recent evening eating in, the waitstaff went above and beyond to accommodate a special request for us. It's a great place!

We're fortunate to live quite near an Otto location and have been there many times. They're always excellent: interesting toppings (ours last night was mushroom, bacon, vidalia onion), well cooked (more than usual if you ask), fun selection of beers (and wine of course). Absolutely our go-to pizza place.
