Osteria - a small eatery serving simple food enjoyed with wine

Based in the historic township of Bellingen on the mid north coast the restaurant is located in the original bank of NSW built in 1926. We offer simple rustic dishes that reflect the simplicity of an Italian osteria.

Open for lunch and dinner. Also offering small share plates to enjoy with a drink on the verandah.

The best meal myself and my wife have had for years - and we do eat out well at least once a month. Food was fabulous and Fiona was a great host. If you are anywhere near Bellingen make the effort to get there you won’t regret it

It was a lovely meal everything was cooked perfectly the flavours were great. we were very happy with the experience. There was a loud table but it happens and we weren’t bothered. Our waitress was charming and really lovely. Couldn’t have been in better hands.

Osteria Fiume, nestled in the charming town of Bellingen, NSW, is a true culinary gem, which is owned by two lovely gems, namely Fi and Megs. From the moment we stepped in, the warm ambiance and friendly staff made us feel right at home. Each dish was a masterpiece, blending local ingredients with exquisite flavours that left our respective palates satiated. The attention to detail in both service and cuisine creates a dining experience that's in the same class as the likes of Tiamo (Lygon St; Carlton). Fiume is a must-visit for anyone seeking a memorable meal in Bellingen.

Once again a great night. The meal was excellent with better than average service. The fresh 'in house' made pasta was a perfect shiny consistency coupled with a melt in the mouth ragu of excellent depth and flavour. This coupled with a finely grated cabbage salad of crunch and taste with the addition of fresh nuts. Delicious.

Great food and service in one of best restaurants in the district. Our host gave excellent advice on our food and wine selections. We have been several times before and will come again when in Bellingen next time.

We had a sense of occasion. We don’t eat out often but this was such a nice moment. for us. Fiona got that. We were never pressured and it was just as we hoped

Food was terrific, esp the anchovies and the spatchcock. The service was attentive and the food came out with good timing. Dining on the verandah on a warm Bellingen night was very pleasant.

Absolutely superb modern Italian food served by extremely professional staff in a lovely restaurant with great ambience. All the entrees, mains and deserts were of an extremely high standard, and we chose from the great selection of red wines a beautiful Italian red, which had DOC rating. Overall a wonderful dining experience, which we hope to repeat many times in the future.

Four the third time we have had a wonderful dinner at Osteria Fiume. This time, they very kindly arranged a table for eleven of us and the food was exceptional . For example, delicious Frito Misto, Burrata salad, Porcetta and Rainbow Trout. Annie

Had an excellent Christmas Lunch with family. Staff were incredibly attentive. Meals were very generous. Beautiful wine list. Great ambience and I felt the price was very reasonable. Would recommend.

You would find it hard to have a more delicious meal. I mean it! From the small plate starters, including white bait and smoked bunito, to the spatchcock and a wonderful pasta dish. Every mouthful was an mmmm moment. The tiniest criticism was the hasty removal of the pasta dish with a few spoonfuls of sauce remaining. We were yet to leave that plate clean. Love to return.

We came for a special Saturday lunch and were pleasantly surprised how lovely our lunch was in every way. The service was informal and could only be improved by not clearing empty dishes before both guests are finished. A small point offset by the delightful attitude of the waitperson. The food was simply delicious with an added bonus of a gin taster on departure, prompted by an enquiry we made. A great lunch.
