Osteria del Pastaio, specializes in traditional Italian Cuisine. Our menu reflects the culinary team’s passion for using only the freshest ingredients. Our Artisan pastas are made daily, our breads are baked fresh each morning, our seasonal desserts and candies are hand-made. Our soups are all from vegetarian stock and whenever possible our produce comes from local organic farmers. The food is delicious but the service was so slow. We had to ask for silverware and plates. When we ordered, we said we only had a little over an hour for dinner. We asked several times for our entrees and finally said to bring the check with the entrees so we could make our show in time. The check was delivered before the entrees hit the table.

Food was great. They charged us extra for the water and bread. Applied 20% gratuity to the check and a 3% surcharge for paying with credit card. This felt cheap and not serious, first time I see a restaurant applies 20% tip for a party of 2 and charges the cost of the credit card to the customer.

Our meals were excellently prepared. The restaurant readily accommodated my wife’s gluten sensitivity. The gnocchi was worth the visit. Our cocktails were well prepared. We will return.

The server never comes to refill water. Overall felt not very comfortable. Based on that service quality, 20% mandatary service fee was applied. I personally don't know if that's a general restaurant policy or just to our table of 4. The server didn't let us know in advance about that. In either ways, this is completely not the kind of service I expected. If it's a general policy, then the restaurant should train the server better. At least refill water, or ask if we want some more water (my glass was empty before having appetizer). Also charged 3% of credit card fee (understandable, but not usual). I recommended this restaurant to my friend and brought them here. But the experience was bad and all of them had negative feedbacks. I felt sorry about that, and maybe a little bit shameful. The food is good though, will give the food a 3 or 4 out of 5.

Certainly the best pasta I’ve had in a long time. Food was delicious and wine selection is great! Loved the desserts too! A great spot for good Italian but not too expensive and fancy— def recommend!

This appears to be a kiddy bar and grill. Saturday night was so noisy our party left after mains and had desert outside. Food ranged from all right to not very good. I can't recommend the Osteria unless your under 30 and like a lot of noise.

Don’t bother going here as the food is great but the service is not worth going for. There’s lots of Italian restaurants in Chicago and I really can’t recommend this one.

The food is very good especially the cheese wheel dish. Most items come a la carte and the drinks were good!

We enjoyed our evening at Osteria del Pastaio. We love are charming server, Irene. She takes great care in providing excellent service. Food is always good!
