Ortomare Ristorante Pizzeria located in Upper West Side in 994 Columbus Avenue has the goal to serve delicious Italian dishes. Orto e mare, translated to "Garden and Sea" in Italian, has the main purpose to prepare dishes with the highest quality ingredients from the green land and the sea.

Our pizza is baked in wood-fired oven creating a crispier crust and a smoky flavor. Ortomare traditional Italian atmosphere is just fair for any occasion. Our mission is to provide our customers with the authentic Italian taste and Ortomare to become your favorite place to come back.

Wonderful food, drink, and atmosphere as always! We tried the eggplant parmesan appetizer, which was expertly made with roasted eggplant and fresh tomato sauce. We also had the quattro formaggio pizza and the mushroom fettucine. Both were also delicious and went well with the wine and cocktails we worried. Would highly recommend!

Very good Italian restaurant/pizza place on UWS. Very good food with plenty of choices. Their amatriciana was very tasty. Good cocktails and great selection of wines by the glass. Friendly and attentive service. Will definitely be going back again!

My wife and I enjoy coming to this restaurant. The food is good well plated and the owner, waiters and busboys are very attentive. Their pizza's are delicious the appetizers are very good and the meatballs in sauce are great, many Italian restaurants fall short on their meatballs not at Ortomare. We have brought our adult son's and their wife's and they like Ortomare Restaurant very much. One of my daughter in law is a General manager to a Michelin rated restaurant and she scores Ortomare very well. Keep up the good work !

Wood fire pizza was cooked just right. The dough was not soggy or too crispy. The crust was delish. We had the red sauce eggplant pizza. The fresh fettuccine was al dente... mushroom/spinach sauce a bit bland. However, I would return and recommend.

We had an intimate New Year's Eve dinner. I had the pasta and sausage dish and my husband had his favorite dish, salmon with spinach in lemon sauce and baked potato fingers. For desert we has their delicious chocolate lava cake. The atmosphere was festive and the service was excellent. If you are considering a cocktail, I reccommend the Lemon Cello.

This is a terrific alternative to more crowded restaurants on Broadway. Delicious food, quiet ambience, a menu welcoming both children (wood fire pizza) and adults (nice cocktails and wine). I love going here when at the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine.

I recently tried this pizzeria and was quite impressed. The sauce stood out — excellent flavor. For those on a gluten-free diet, their crust is a real treat; it’s excellent and doesn’t sacrifice flavor or texture. It’s great to find a pizza spot that gets both these elements right. The restaurant was cozy and the service was excellent. I took my extended family (9 people) and they didn’t have any trouble handling a crowd that size. I made a reservation on OpenTable and they had everything set-up and waiting. It’s a good think I did, because the place filled up.

They have a great deal going on during the week where you get any pizza on the menu with a glass of wine for $25. I had the Burrata pizza which was very good. And the red wine was good also.

Went there for my wife’s birthday and we had great dinner there. To start we had the norcina pizza which was the best pizza I ever had! It is somewhere between napolitana and romana style which I prefer. Both main courses the Gnocchi and Branzino were were good as well. For dessert we had the chocolate lava cake and the homemade ricotta cheesecake which we loved as well. Overall it was a great dinner and we will definitely return giving that the price we paid it is very affordable for NYC standards.

I recently dined at Ortomare and had a great meal. Everything was delicious, especially the pumpkin pizza which was the best pizza I ate in NYC. The service was remarkable. They were happy to recommend drinks that paired with the pizza. The tiramisu was delicious too, very fresh and light. I highly recommend Ortomare to anyone looking for an amazing Italian dinner experience.

Another OUTSTANDING meal here. Good and service are top-notch. Under-appreciated gem in the neighborhood. However, the outdoor seating areas lack ambiance. The lighting and decor do not make a bare pass at matching the quality of the food and service. Fix that and the dining experience will be flawless.
