A+ Birthday and engagement We have not experienced service like that in a long time. The staff made the evening amazing after a very special day and could not have asked for more. Emily was amazing. It is an expensive fine dining restaurant, so don’t expect cheap, but you get what you pay for. Food was amazing. Cocktails amazing.

Tim was an amazing server, I would highly recommend requesting him when booking a reservation. The food is fantastic as well as the cocktails and selection for wine/champagne.

John made my birthday dinner special with excellent recommendations and service. Super knowledgeable about celiac disease and cross contamination and safe food options that are gluten free. I had the lamb which was divine and my husband had the steak. We loved the cocktails - our favourite was the Soul Reviver. We are looking forward to coming back again soon for dinner. Breakfast was also delicious- steak and eggs and the steak poutine were cooked perfectly. We love that the staff is knowledgeable and take food allergies seriously.

This was the second time we’ve dined at Orso Trattoria. We were thrilled to get Tim as our server again. He’s very attentive and he knows the wine list. My husband and I enjoyed the 3-course dinner. I started with the Seared Scallops and they were cooked perfectly. My husband had the Foie & Apple and enjoyed his as well. We both had the Butcher’s Cut which was a ribeye with smashed fingerling potatoes and peppers. Beautiful main. For dessert we both had a tiramisu. We were a little disappointed that it wasn’t made table side as it was as on our first visit last June. All in all, a delicious dinner experience.

We made the reservation a couple days ahead to celebrate my mother’s birthday, and we had requested a table near the window overlooking the lake. We called the day of again to confirm that we will be getting that table, and were told we would be. However, once we got there we weren’t given that table, and was told that they don’t reserve specific tables despite making a request. We would’ve understood that if weren’t given the confirmation which had us expecting otherwise. There was no apology from the server, and the hostess was quite rude about the whole situation. They also weren’t willing to use another table near the window they had because it was set up for breakfast for the next day. This was an awful start to a special occasion, the food wasn’t much enjoyable, and took a really long time to come out as well, so the night was ruined right there. All this would’ve been fine if we weren’t offered that confirmation or if we were provided with a better service from the front staff. The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge is a wonderful stay, and we will most definitely be coming back but not to Orso. We do not recommend this restaurant.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. We ordered off of their main menu, which includes a starter, a main, and a dessert, and we each selected the tenderloin. The starter was 4 small tortellini’s which tasted strange, and the tenderloin was nothing special (tasteless steak with some baby potatoes and a few grilled veggies). It took over an hour for our food to come out and the restaurant was not busy, maybe 1/4 capacity. With the amount of money they charge for food and their overpriced wine list, you would expect a high class meal, but I’ve eaten and experienced better at a Joey’s or at Earls, and for half the price. The only reason the service rating received Fair, was because of the warm reception we received upon arrival.

Unlike many other Fairmont restaurants this one didn’t prioritize vegetarian or celiacs like the rest of the menu. The GF bread was packaged and dry. The GF cake for dessert was also very dry. The appetizer was the best part of the menu - it was creative and delicious. The main was too simple and something I could have made quickly at home. Too expensive for the underwhelming gluten free and vegetarian food we were served. I would not go again.

When I ordered the scallops, I only got two small scallops. My husband and I shared the lamb and risotto and we only got one chop each and the risotto did not have a lot of flavour. I’m glad they included free bread and olives because I ate a quarter of the loaf because I was still hungry!! Wouldn’t go back.

Excellent dining experience at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge. Amazing service from host/hostess, Tim, and Elnur Derbas’, Assistant Outlet Mgr, knowledge of wine pairing with our meal. Unique piccolo/starters and grande/main. Foie gras & apple was outstanding. We wanted to return there again for dinner during our stay at JPL but they were closed for special events.

We won’t be back. It was our Anniversary-reserved ahead-was seated on the side-server spilled my wine when she poured it and at 30$ for 8 oz, shouldn’t waste any! We had to Ask for the Jasper in January menu. Table seated after us received everything before us. Soup was served without a spoon, had to ask for it. Pork scaloppini was over cooked snd prepared incorrectly- it should have been pounded thin- it was chewy. The pasta was over cooked and the tomato sauce was uneventful. No cracked pepper was offered or o would have taken it. Others enjoyed the pepper option though. Finally our dessert was served to the wrong table- the one with the faster service and after it was whisked away it returned a few minutes later…pretty sure it was the same one! Ugh. I left a note and still tipped 10% -usually tip 20 % but just couldn’t considering this is supposed to be fine dining…

Very tasty food but the appetizer that we ordered individually only had 4 pieces of tortellini and cost almost 30 bucks. It was hilarious😂 costly hilarious.

Families with screaming infants should be asked to leave. It isn’t fair to the other patrons. A restaurant like Orso’s might consider adopting a minimum 16 years of age policy to ensure all diners are able to fully enjoy the ambiance and menu of the restaurant.

Lovely dinner. Did the 3-course meal. The amuse-bouche and first course were amazing. The main course was a change from lamb to duck (which we were excited about as we prefer duck) however, the duck was not prepared well. It was underdone, chewy, and the “fat” had zero crisp to it. The dessert was okay but, nothing spectacular. It was a nice evening though and the restaurant was practically empty.

The view is spectacular if you get a window table. Food is always good but service could be a little better. We’ve been a few times and that’s what we’ve found to be the case consistently. We will be back, hopefully to see service with a smile and that gorgeous Mountain View.

This was our fourth annual dinner at Orso. Sadly our waiter Tim made this an expensive, awful night out. When we sat down, nothing was noted as the hostess had - the biggest issue being that an allergy was present, and he actually offered me that allergen rather than reading the ticket. Past that, our food runner informed us that he had mixed up our seating with our meals, meaning that my food was no longer allergy safe. While waiting for drinks for 25 minutes, we saw Tim visit and have incredible conversations with the table besides us, six times. In doing so, he did comp our drinks, however he truly ruined our anniversary experience. Sadly the level of care has gone down at Orso while the price has gone up, and it’s just no longer worth the hassle.

Our entire experience was outstanding. The service from Emily was great. Quick and efficient. The food was delicious and we loved every bite. I highly recommend this fine dining experience!

Nice service, beautiful setting, food was extremely mediocre. I honestly can cook better tasting things myself which is disappointing, considering what I was expecting from such a high end restaurant.
