Orelle is a modern French restaurant located on the 24th floor of 103 Colmore Row, situated in the heart of the city’s business district and comprises a restaurant, cocktail bar, all-day café and terrace.

The name Orelle draws inspiration from the French words for gold (or) and her (elle). It is also the name of a French mountain village.

Orelle offers 360-degree, panoramic views across the city and beyond. Open for lunch and dinner, Orelle will serve a menu featuring both classic and modern French dishes. The small but beautifully designed bar will offer both classic and innovative cocktails, all expertly crafted by some of Birmingham’s best mixologists.

Perfect view, ambiance and friendly staff. Our starters were divine. The problem came with our main, we ordered Duck, asked for it pink, it cam over cooked and chewy. Good job the rest of the dish was flavourful.

Was disappointed that as a coeliac there was no way of checking information about ingredients and wasn’t convinced waiter was aware of what a gluten free diet is. He insisted that Parmesan cheese wasn’t gf or the oil in the salmon starter I chose, instead I was given no sauce. Instead of the Parmesan mash I was offered chips which I agreed to but was given lentils. This marred my experience as I wasn’t convinced that he was giving me the correct information about what I did eat ! There was no QR code taking me to dietary information and when I asked I was made to feel like a nuisance! The food I did eat was actually delicious so all of the chefs hard work was let down by this lack of information and the staff not actually knowing what a gluten free diet is. Also as the 2 desserts on the fixed price menu were not gf I was told I could choose from the Al a carte menu, the waiter rudely thrust the menu at me and asked me to choose but then said actually the only thing you can have is the chocolate tofu. I think the attitude of the waiter was rude and unnecessary and I did question him about the menu for good reason and all of this could have been avoided if proper guidelines had been followed and I’d been given a list of allergens at the very beginning!!

Staff was fantastic and really elevated the experience, they were very attentive and made the experience wonderful. The food was the disappointment, it was basic at most and our favourite item was the snack at the beginning of the tasting menu. There was no wow factor in each dish, all just okay. Quite unfortunate.

This was my 4th time at Orelle and I am sad to say it was disappointing. My first couple of visits were really great but it has gone downhill since. I was there to celebrate both my dad and my friend's birthday, there were 5 of us booked for 1pm. We were greeted well and said we'd take a seat at the bar whilst waiting for the 5th person in our party. Whilst waiting at the bar, no one asked if we'd like a drink. I then had to ask 2 different people to show us to our table. Our waitress asked if we'd like water and we said yes and also said we were ready to order drinks but she ignored this and walked off. Eventually we were able to order our drinks by which time staff wanted our food order too. The staff were beige at best. On my first 2 visits staff were friendly and engaging (without being overbearing) this time, the staff were not attentive & made no attempt to engage other than doing the absolute bare minimum. When we asked for the bill it was wrong. 3 of us had the fixed price menu and 2 went a la carte. Twice we had to send the bill back before it was right. The food and the views were great but the service was lackluster and we won't be back. There are so many other restaurants in Birmingham that deserve our custom more.

Lovely birthday Sunday lunch for my husband , fabulous food , great service ! Lovely table position with views of city centre. If you want a special meal out this is a great place to go . The Sunday lunch menu is very well priced for the standard of the food .

The service and food was unreal. Would highly recommend the wine pairing, really made the experience that much better.

Beautiful restaurant in Birmingham. Gorgeous setting and excellent food. Wine pairing was excellent too. Will definitely go again.
