Named after Chef Francisco’s mother, Ophelia will specialize in authentic Mexican cuisine prepared with a refined, elevated approach.

“Given my strong connection to Mexican cuisine, we saw an opportunity to take advantage of my knowledge and passion and do something truly unique here in Olympic Village,” Higareda explains. “My mother inspired my love of cooking and it will be a true honour to return to my roots and pay homage to her and my country at Ophelia this spring.”

Ophelia will also offer a fully licenced bar serving handcrafted cocktails made with premium tequilas and mezcals, along with local and imported craft beers, and New- and Old-World wines.

    Food was great but pricey. Very loud inside so hard to have a conversation inside. Outside was quieter but too cold.

    Highly recommend the burnt salsa appetizer, the giant volcanic bowl of meat and the chicken mole. The margarita with guava in it is absolutely extraordinary as well. Everything was supremely delicious.

    What an amazing place (3rd visit) . I was celebrating my birthday with a small group of friends on the patio. The server Tatiana couldn't have been better. Such patience (some of us moved around and made it confusing for her) and always had a smile on. The Happy happy food and drink are spot on. Great choices and the prices are just right! thank you to the entire staff (front and back) who made our celebration a success.

    Great food and service; nice wine and drinks. Some vegan and vegetarian options but not too much, especially if you do not eat fish. Server was attentive. A higher end experience (not cheap eats) but not overly expensive given the quality of the food and service. A fun atmosphere and lively place.

    Fantastic experience! Celebrated Mother’s Day and ordered the volcanes de arracherra, mocaljete, ling cod, and pulpo en mole blanco. Food was amazing, perfect for sharing/family style, and Guava margaritas were *chef’s kiss*. Would highly recommend.
