Forged from the fires of Covington, Ky. Opal is a casual, chef-driven, fine-dining restaurant that offers wood-fired grilled foods, craft cocktails, and a curated wine menu using locally focused products. The menu, developed by the company's culinary director, Chef Eric Polhamus, features Contemporary American dishes. Opal is the third restaurant installment in the portfolio of Bill and Morgan Whitlow. Opals are known to be the stone that represents justice, harmony, protection, love and passion. Just like the gemstone, Opal Rooftop Restaurant & Bar is different from every angle you approach it from. Patrons will enjoy a 360-degree backdrop of downtown Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky or dine indoors as the flames from the unique Grillworks grill reflect off of the bar. Loved the menu with fewer than 10 entree choices. Portions were perfect. Cheeseboard made a nice start to the evening. The food was excellent. The service was spot on—what service should always be. A lovely atmosphere.

Excellent meal and service. The view from the restaurant of Covington and Cincinnati is amazing. Cocktails were well made and generous in the pour. We had the Steak for Two and both thought the meal was excellent. Large bone in ribeye cooked perfectly and shared. Each of us received a plate with potatoes, broccolini, and sauce. We will definitely be going back. Became one of our favorite dining experiences in the greater Cincinnati area.

Very nice venue for a great dinner. Service was excellent and we never felt rushed. The steak and trout were both delicious at a nice price point. Highly recommend

Opal Rooftop is a little gem in the Covington food scene. The wait staff was friendly, manager was attentive, the views are incredible and the food was fresh and tasty. We went for lunch and that is a perfect time to eat without the larger crowds of a dinner time seating.

This place is definitely a 5 for dinner. The lunch menu was a bit skimpy and I was disappointed at the selections. They need a good fire grilled chicken sandwich on the lunch menu.
