Went here about 5 years ago and had a good experience. They completely changed their menu since then, which equated to a big negative and kicking myself for taking my party of 4 there. If you are looking to spend an extravagant amount of $ and still be hungry after you leave, this is the place. Their end-game is tapas style food items that are very expensive for what little you get... thinly sliced nothings. They are clearly capitalizing on being a restaurant in the Four Seasons by completely overpricing everything on their joke of a menu. Giving very little for a boatload of cash. Will never go back. Kick Onyx to the curb. My advice is to drive a little further and go to an authentic sushi/sashimi restaurant, Sugarfish in Calabasas.

Enjoyed another exceptional dinner at Onyx! Tried several new items (although it was hard not to order several of our favorite dishes) and they were all excellent! What a fun and delicious evening!

Slow service, they were out of a few sushi items. I have tried to like this place as i am local and it used to be good. I am done. It’s overprices for the service provided and they are always out of certain key sushi items

Great Japanese cuisine, served well by outstanding service staff. Wine list limited but excellent choices available. Expensive but worth the occasional visit!

We tried lots of different dishes and all were excellent! Rice chicharron, chicken karaage, vegetable gyoza, were great starters. All of the nigiri was fresh and delicious. We also had the sakura and chokoreeto desserts with peppermint tea and they were both fantastic as well!

Amazing fresh food, found our sushi bar. I fish a lot and it was as good as catching it myself. Crab hand roll was amazing how fresh it was.

The service was wonderful! The hosts and waitstaff made the evening special. The valet service was also remarkable and gracious. The food was very enjoyable but not filling for the value. The music was too loud. Overall, fun and yummy experience.

The new menu is too limited and extremely overpriced. Wanted to celebrate my sons 21st and the service and staff didn’t disappoint but we had to leave and go find a meal. The portions are more like appetizers. Please bring back old menu, miso soup and sides of rice so I could feed my big boys.. We love the Four Season’s atmosphere

Service was incredible! We loved the rice chicharron with tuna and should have tried more of the unique fusion dishes. Better nigiri for better value can be found at nearby restaurants (kanda, emon)

Enjoyed another excellent dinner at Onyx! Great food and outstanding service --- the chef personally described one of the new dishes to us and as always, the managers made sure that everything was perfect. Favorite dishes at this visit included the new fish and shrimp dumpling, the Nigiri Moriwase and the Chokoreeto. Yummy! Already looking forward to dining at Onyx again very soon and trying some more of their new dishes!

Menu was extremely limited $58 wagu strip loin was overcooked and not very good. Sushi had all rice and very little fish in it. Will not be going back. Way overpriced!!!!

Sushi is ok not great. Rolls are pretty basic especially for the price. Very expensive for what you get. Very limited sushi menu. Not what we expected for a Four Seasons restaurant.

Onyx is pretty inside, but was disappointed in the menu. A spot like this should have some fantastic choices…. We had a hard time deciding because there just wasn’t anything that sounded interesting. For the price, the experience should be unforgettable. It was a bummer for sure. What we did order was good, but definitely not worth the $250 price tag for what we ordered…. Hope they upgrade the menu!

My husband and I were underwhelmed by the menu selection, it's very limited for a sushi restaurant. The sushi was just so-so and price was really high. We don't mind paying a lot for good sushi, and we do, but this restaurant was not worth it at all. That said, our servers were outstanding.

We are so happy you re-opened as we have been fans of ONYX for over a decade. We went for a birthday dinner and it was indeed worthy of the special occasion. The staff was extremely welcoming , attentive and knowledgeable; and the quality and flavors of all the dishes were sublime. The sushi was so fresh and the preparation superb and a feast for all our senses. Just delicious!--thank you for enhancing my husband's birthday celebration!

Think quality over quantity. Great tasting offerings but small portions. Reimagined Onyz is squeezed into half the space of its former self increasing the noise level. Drinks were good. Server was very patient explaining the somewhat confusing food descriptions on the menu. I won’t be a regular but would return for a special occasion.

We take weekend getaway trips frequently & we LOVE the Four Seasons Westlake Village. We have ventured out for Sushi a lot & wanted to return back to Onyx. We had the best service from the wonderful hostess and waiters to the delicious appetizers, sushi and Miso Cod. Our dinner was so delicious & we always have an amazing experience. I would highly recommend Onyx to everyone.

I took my boyfriend here last night for his birthday dinner. While the food was outstanding we told them we were in a rush and the food took forever and on top of it when I ordered came out a full 15 minute before what the birthday boy ordered. Embarrassing... Food was really outstanding though
