The high standard of the Sunday lunch has continued. The quality and choice of the food on offer was excellent. Our waiter was first class - he was pleasant; unobtrusive but the timing of his service interventions was excellent

Very good food and service. The food is mostly Scottish produce and of high quality. The kitchen turn this into something wonderful, present it well. Service staff are friendly, helpful, attentive without being overbearing. Very convenient for Usher Hall & nearby theatres. Attached to The Sheraton Hotel, so there is also a nice bar for pre-dinner drinks.

Excellent value on market menu at £34 for 3 courses of well cooked & presented imaginative dishes. Some confusion about our booking on arrival, but dealt with quickly & effectively. We were seated in the restaurant which was quieter and pleasanter than the bar area pictured online ( though the bar would be great for pre/post dinner drinks). A very enjoyable experience and a great location if visiting the Usher Hall for a performance.

The menu is a bit limited and pricey. My fillet steak was excellent but everything else really didn't warrant £140.00 for two meals and 3 glasses of wine.

Excellent service with good quality food. There is a very good choice of dishes for all courses and a comprehensive wine list. The restaurant has a calming atmosphere. I strongly recommend ding in the one square brasserie.

We had a nice lunch in the bar, a fairly limited menu, but what we had was very nice. Service from the young waitress was very good, and as I had advised at booking it was a birthday celebration, we were presented with a nice plate of chopped fruit and chocolate.

Attended as an anniversary gift. Sheer indulgence. Lovely ambience with the jazz band set up. Gorgeous window table and courteous staff. Food was amazing, would have perhaps liked additional meat choices i.e chicken/turkey but to be honest there was so much other choice I couldn't eat what was there! Would love to come back for another occasion.

The service is appallingly slow . It took c50 mins to deliver 1 course to the table ( in a very quiet restaurant ) . At no point did the serving staff update us , or apologise for the delay . The food , when it eventually arrived could best be described as adequate. My vegetarian wellington was in fact a thick sausage roll like piece of pastry with a bland filling . When I raised the issue re the long wait , as I paid the bill ( £c60 for two main courses and water ) -- I was simply told -- sorry about that. I frequently host business lunches in Edinburgh but I would not go back as neither the food nor the service made for a pleasurable experience

Lovely meal at a reasonable price for ala carte dining in Edinburgh. Had the two course option, my only criticism would be it is a small option menu, but was still able to select something which I enjoyed. I had mentioned it was a birthday when booking, and we received a warm welcome from the staff and at the end of the meal, we received a small selection of bite size pastries on a plate with "happy birthday" A lovely added touch from the hotel.

Nice food, slow service despite the almost deserted restaurant. I ordered the cheese soufflé, very tasty but not served with anything to mop up the sauce. Asked for a piece of bread and was then charged £5 for a whole bread board. When I complained was told it was a standard practice to get more money from the diners. Despite saying we had theatre to go to, the main course was delayed until we asked for it to be served, suspect it was a deliberate ploy to get us to order more wine. Very poor selection of non-alcoholic drinks.

I have been to The Sheraton Bar many times before, however, I was there for lunch on Friday 16 February with 2 friends at 13.00 for lunch. The service provided for a 5 star establishment was very poor indeed. We waited ages for our main course to be served and then when we received the dessert menu, nobody even bothered to come back and ask us would we like to order a dessert or coffee. This is not acceptable at all and myself and my friends many not bother to come back again. Also, I think the portion sizes are getting smaller and smaller for the amounts The Sheraton is charging.

The Valentines menu - from the canapes and the service to the paired wines. The food was exceptional. Service knowledgable, friendly and gave a sense of being well cared for. Highly recommend.

Overall the night was pretty fantastic. Only negative was that my wife and I have different steak preferences. I prefer medium pink, whereas my wife is definitely well done no pink meat

Lovely food, the duck salad was very tasty and the pork belly very filling even though it didn't look like a lot. The menu is designed for you to eat three courses I'd say, so moderate portion sizes. The atmosphere was lovely, we felt very welcomed and looked after by the staff and the bar is beautifully furnished and lit.

Alona and the team were Wonderfull ! I booked a table for my mother’s 91 st birthday . They went above and beyond. Food fresh and plentiful . Jazz band very good . Table big and spacious . Nothing was a problem for the staff . Highly recommended

Food was lovely however service wasn’t great. The side we ordered never arrived at the same time as mains. Eventually after half way through the meal we went up to find out where they were and were told “I’ll get them” no apology or anything. We then asked where the salt pepper or sauces were as we weren’t offered these when our meals were brought over. Quickly handed 2 mayos and no salt or pepper. Once side arrived (almost finished meal) we asked for salt and pepper again. We asked for the bill and 10 minutes later no one brought it over, we were then advised to go to the bar and pay. Overall service not great for a place with such a good reputation. Lucky the food was nice which made it :)

Food was disappointing in flavour and not very exciting. Tea was unlimited however the limited service made it quite difficult to obtain refills. Probably one of the most disappointing afternoon teas in Edinburgh.

The brunch was excellent value and quality. Superb tasting coffee, which is rare these days. A great find as we didn't know the Sheraton did brunch. We'll go back often.

Our champagne brunch was a mixed experience. The food was very good. The service, although appearing pleasing and attentive, was actually very disappointing. We had a 90 minute slot to have our brunch before our theatre booking. We assumed this was more than enough time. We had a lovely table, a nice glass of champagne and our first course arrived speedily. We had to request our pastries as there was a misunderstanding with dietary issues. When they brought them we were told our hot food would now be ordered. We then asked three times for our hot food, which eventually arrived when we had less than 15 minutes to eat it. We had said we were running out if time. Many other customers were served, had eaten and left during this time. We had to rush our main course, leaving part of it due to shortage of time. We were very disappointed. It was our first visit to One Square Bar and the Sheraton Hotel. We’d love to go again and enjoy proper service, but are hesitant to rebook due to this experience.

Delicious brunch. Good selection of main dishes All drinks extra, even coffee Stylish lounge and service BUT seats so low and uncomfortable with no back support worth mentioning. Xmas music got a bit tiresome. Since you are good enough to ask- sun shone reflected into my eyes and there were no blinds to stop this- shouldn’t really complain on New Year’s Day . Glad we came.
