Equal parts rustic and refined, Old 290 Brewery & Restaurant combines Hill Country craft beer with hearty, Texas-inspired cuisine. Our gastropub style restaurant emphasizes fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, along with our craft beer and our award-winning wines from Carter Creek Winery. Our Old 290 Brewery is also open for weekend breakfast and casual menu options. Hours vary for the smokehouse and restaurant.

My husband and I sat outside on the patio for Mother's Day brunch. The atmosphere was wonderful. The food was great! Our server, Adam, was very nice and attentive. Highly recommend this place for a day trip in wine country.

Not your typical restaurant. Definitely can not judge a book by its cover. The menu is simple but satisfying in each bite. The staff is friendly, inviting and make you feel as if you’re old friends. At first take i was unsure but was surprised by the outcome. Top notch all around

Our server, David was very attentive and personable. We enjoyed our conversation with him. He made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. It was a quiet evening

It took over 10 minutes to be seated, with a reservation. It took over 45 minutes to get food for four people, and one order was incorrect. It also took 15-20 minutes to get the bill after it was requested. One order was a biscuits and gravy, and three were the hill country scramble. We stayed for almost 2 hours to wait to be served and pay to leave.

We did the red flight which was very good even included a port. Our favorites were the Maverick and the group therapy and we had the chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich. I’ve ate in a long time it was fabulous. It taste was great. It was good size was marvelous, and the sweet potato fries were very very good, good service

Our dinner on the patio was very nice. The weather was perfect. The food was tasty. I would have given a higher rating however we barely had our appetizer and sips of wine when the salads arrived then main entree’s. It felt rushed and our table didn’t have room for our wine tasting, appetizers, salad plates and main entrees. The server tried taking our appetizer to make room but we weren’t finished yet. Maybe the kitchen can time things better in the future. We will give it another try when in the area.

Great place to stop for lunch or dinner while out on the wine tours. Not a ton of veggie options if looking for that. Beer and wines were good.

The server we had was very kind but was not attentive at all. We had to get other waiters to bring us our drinks that sat at the bar for over fifteen minutes and fill our water glasses.

Great beer, wine, and food...what more do you wish for?! Try the Caesar salad with grilled chicken which actually has a nice smokiness to it...delicious and ample!

The service was outstanding. We were there for Christmas eve and had the prime rib. The food just okay. The salad was mediocre, small and they could have served some nice warm rolls or bread with it. The prime rib was to salty and very fatty. The dessert was pretty sad. For the cost of this meal I expected much better quality food.

The wait staff was 5-Star. The wedge and dessert were both excellent, BUT the entree was not great. The potato serving looked like 2 giant marshmallow....and had absolutely NO flavor at all. The prime rib was a nice size serving, but half was a giant slab of fat(not meat) and the meat overall was rather stringy. The roasted vegetables made the entree portion palatable. Overall, this meal was extremely over priced. There was salt and pepper on the table, but no butter or bread was served.

I love this resort, but I find myself disappointed by the menu choices at this restaurant. We tried the pizza this time, but it was not as good as we had hoped. I wish there better options for those of us who prefer not to eat beef. The one fish dish on the menu is great, but you can't eat that for dinner every day.

The patio at this restaurant is so nice. There are a few things I would suggest to make the dining experience more enjoyable. Pay better attention to what is on the TV. Better, more enjoyable programming is important. Also, we had the snapper again, but the fish wasn't as fresh as the last time we ate this dish a month before. And, a better variety of items is needed, especially at a resort, where the guests may eat at the same restaurant over several days.

Steak was delicious but significantly overcooked; tenderness made up for it, somewhat. Prime rib was grisly and inedible but our waitress noticed & told manager who offered to make it right! That’s the proper way to handle the situation so I give management high marks. Our waitress Symantha was great! She was friendly, helpful and right on point every time we needed her.

Adam, our waiter, was absolutely amazing! Food and atmosphere was great. We ate there for lunch and enjoyed it so much came back for dinner that night. Both menus had great options and pricing is what you’d expect for quality of food and service. After we finished, we sat in the beautiful courtyard overlooking hill country and enjoyed a phenomenal glass of wine. Highly recommend!

The hostess was great, and our server Adam was pleasant, thoughtful, and efficient. Our appetizer and meals were delicious and filling, and the Insulator was a terrific dark beer. I highly recommend sitting out on the patio if there’s availability and the weather’s accommodating (it was for us with the patio heater they provided).

The food was wonderful but the staff there was the best we have ever had! Adam was very attentive and made our night much more interesting than we ever expected. Me and my best friend were there with our husbands celebrating our 50th birthdays. We will go back again next time we are in the area!!

Thanksgiving meal was delicious. Generous portions so able to take enough home for a second meal. The pumpkin pie was excellent. Wait staff friendly and attentive.

Thanksgiving lunch and service was exceptional. We had so much fun. The host and waiter were welcoming and professional. The food was outstanding. The location is beautiful. We had a great afternoon.
