Equal parts rustic and refined, Old 290 Brewery & Restaurant combines Hill Country craft beer with hearty, Texas-inspired cuisine. Our gastropub style restaurant emphasizes fresh, locally-sourced ingredients, along with our craft beer and our award-winning wines from Carter Creek Winery. Our Old 290 Brewery is also open for weekend breakfast and casual menu options. Hours vary for the smokehouse and restaurant.

This elevated experience includes a welcome toast, a four-course meal designed by our New Executive Chef, Caleb Hill, and a custom wine pairing of our award-winning Texas wines. Come dressed to impress in Texas Cocktail attire and embrace the social ambiance with communal seating. We’ve dined here many times. Menu has changed and there is much less selection for entrees. Ordered the hanger steak and filet mignon. Flavor was good but steak was not warm. Thinking it must have set awhile before being served. Still enjoy the place and I appreciate seeing familiar waitstaff. Overall, it was okay but not as good as it once was.

Upon entry, very meh feeling. Then you find your way to the entry and it’s annoyingly disorganized. When we finally got seated, we waited 30 minutes and no one came to get our drinks or anything. Meanwhile Bob and Patrick with their wife’s Karen and Stephanie were so important, no one else mattered to the staff. So we left and thank god never going back. Oh and the band was a football field away. Who knows. 🤦🏾

My husband and I sat outside on the patio for Mother's Day brunch. The atmosphere was wonderful. The food was great! Our server, Adam, was very nice and attentive. Highly recommend this place for a day trip in wine country.

Not your typical restaurant. Definitely can not judge a book by its cover. The menu is simple but satisfying in each bite. The staff is friendly, inviting and make you feel as if you’re old friends. At first take i was unsure but was surprised by the outcome. Top notch all around

Our server, David was very attentive and personable. We enjoyed our conversation with him. He made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious. It was a quiet evening

It took over 10 minutes to be seated, with a reservation. It took over 45 minutes to get food for four people, and one order was incorrect. It also took 15-20 minutes to get the bill after it was requested. One order was a biscuits and gravy, and three were the hill country scramble. We stayed for almost 2 hours to wait to be served and pay to leave.

We did the red flight which was very good even included a port. Our favorites were the Maverick and the group therapy and we had the chicken sandwich was the best chicken sandwich. I’ve ate in a long time it was fabulous. It taste was great. It was good size was marvelous, and the sweet potato fries were very very good, good service
