Tina Takaya, proprietor, welcomes you to our newest two story restaurant on the water. We feel the key to success is our passion for creating the highest quality food and warm friendly service.

Our menu draws from Asian favorites that inspire and excite such as Wagyu Steak, Japanese Sushi, Chinese Dumplings, Garlic Noodles and fresh local seafood.

We are located in the heart of Santa Barbara’s Waterfront and Funk Zone Districts. Come enjoy lunch or dinner, soak in the sun by day at our waterfront rooftop bar while sipping on a refreshing cocktail surrounded by our beautiful ocean vista and by night, enjoy lounging by the fireplace after a delicious meal and a great glass of wine.

Our chef uses the freshest ingredients from central coast farmers and local fisherman to create dishes with the best of what California has to offer.

We both feel we've eaten well when we dine at Oku. The food is excellent, as are the cocktails.We prefer the outdoor deck from which you can survey our beautiful Santa Barbara waterfront. The staff is uniformly well trained and easy to deal with, eager to insure that their customers are enjoying the experience of dining at Oku. For us, Oku is our first choice when dining out.

The food was nice without being exceptional. Perhaps the fire cracker shrimp was a little disappointing, no fire at all in the dish! Perhaps some tograshi seasoning on the shrimp would’ve elevated the dish.

AMAZING!!! Great wine and drink menu but the sushi is absolutely phenomenal. Everybody loves Raymond and Crazy Rich Asians rolls - bomb bomb bomb. Yakisoba also delicious which seems to be rare for a mostly sushi focused menu. Great service and vibe too!

Unexpected surprise. Most surprising was the diversity of food and outstanding flavors. A bit surprised that while having an Open Table reservation we were required to stand in line with those without reservations.
