Established in 2015. From the owners that brought you District Kitchen+Cocktails, Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar is a new Restaurant on Austin’s northwest side. Our mission is to offer elevated food in a casual atmosphere that’s perfect for families and friends, whether you’re a beer connoisseur or just a sports fan looking for the next big game. Our large interior is an inviting setting perfect for friends and family to gather together and enjoy each other’s company. We have an outdoor patio as well which can be covered and reserved for private parties, and there are plenty of large TV’s around that will always carry the next big game.

Despite our German influence, we are proud to serve locally sourced food, for a chef-driven, upscale casual environment. The exceptional service and delicious food will be sure to bring you back, no matter the occasion. We look forward to you joining us at Oasthouse Kitchen + Bar!

The food is absolutely fantastic and I haven't had a dish I didn't enjoy here (try the Chicken Schnitzel!). The table service has been great each time I've visited. The hostess/host experience has been entertaining but mostly annoying on each of our last four visits here - for the most part the interaction could be summed up as 'rude' with most pleasantries being skipped - not a requirement but sometimes it feels like hostess/host is annoyed that I am a dining in.

Ive enjoyed past experiences but this Mother’s Day experience was extremely disappointing. It was warmer and more humid in the restaurant than outside, music wasn’t playing in the background until late into the lunch out so it was awkwardly quiet, and service was very slow. Not on par with previous experiences here.

Unfortunately it took about 50 mins to get our food. Some large wedding party took over the nook where we had a reservation, so not only were we not seated where we were supposed to, but the kitchen was visibly backed up. The server was excellent, the manager was excellent and apologetic, and offered us a discount on our total bill to compensate us, which was nice, but the food wasn’t all that.

Went for brunch. Took about 5 to 10 minutes before our server showed up to take drinks order. Mind you there were five or six tables and at least three servers. Food was overly salty. The sausage was really bad and the corned beef hash was disappointing. The poached eggs were overcooked. The corned beef was sliced instead of pulled. Made it feel like deli meat instead of a hash meat. Server never came back after taking our orders until the bill. I had to ask the hostess for a refill on our drinks.

Wonderful food and wonderful service. The food was fantastic: ocean trout, mussels, and pizza. Overall, we really enjoyed our visit, and our server was fantastic.

This restaurant had really delicious food and drinks! I had the grilled salad with steak and the hummus. We liked that the drinks were very unique with combinations that were delicious!

We came in from Fort Worth for a weekend trip. I looked up places for a quick and casual bite to eat and came across this place. The experience was below average in mine and my family’s opinion. We started off by being sat extremely close to a service station. Table was wobbling. We were moved a table over and that was ok. I ordered a glass of Prosecco and a splash of St. Germaim. My drink was served on ice and did not taste like what I expected. Sent it back and after I explained again what I wanted, she finally got it right. My partner ordered a cold glass with his beer and never received it. My mom ordered a salad and a side of mashed potatoes for her entree and requested it come out with the rest of the dinner and it came out about 8-10 minutes before the rest of our food. The best thing on the table was the fish and chips my Dad ordered. Small portion for the meatloaf. My pasta with broccoli and mushroom was awful and not at all what was described on the menu. The menu said cream sauce, broccoli, mushrooms, and cherry tomatoes. Not creamy, broccoli was just finely chopped like you would get in a blended soup, two cherry tomatoes and the pasta was over cooked and gummy. We did have the mussels and cheese curds and those were ok. Overall, I was not satisfied with the food, service, or ambiance of the restaurant.

Our server was friendly, attentive and efficient. Great appetizers, tasty burgers, ands lots of choices of sides, including delicious Brussels sprouts.

Great but they need to restart using Inkind. I made a big purchase to Inkind to use at the restaurant, and now they say I can't use Inkind any more. I lost a few hundred dollars.

Went to Oasthouse but was disappointed in the new menu. They got rid of several of the food items that we thought made the place unique in the past like the sheppard's pie, strawberry salad and sausages. Our waiter was not very attentive and forgot to bring a simple cup of ice twice so we had to go get it ourselves from the bar inside. Not sure what is happening there now, because we used to enjoy it a lot more. The fries are still really good and the Fish and Chips was also a hit.

We were seated right away but waited ~10 minutes to be greeted. I tried ordering 3 different beers from their menu and they were out of all of them. Food preparation was very long (~45 minutes). The patio area was noisy with screaming kids and squeaky chairs. The food tasted fine but was not worth the long wait or unpleasant ambiance. An upset stomach after dinner was the cherry on top!

The food was good, especially the cheese curds and poutine. While our server was polite enough it felt like the restaurant was understaffed. Our table's first carafe of wine was undrinkable unfortunately.

Thought this place was just okay. Positives: Food was pretty good. Trout was quite good. Noise level was very nice (quiet) because not to many customers there. Negatives: Funny smell in restaurant...seems like the place needs a very good cleaning. Traditional salad was mediocre because it was small even though we ordered Large.

The main entrance is pushed around to the side, so you come in by the restrooms...and unfortunately the restrooms were giving off a strong odor...so the first impression was less than stellar. the interior of the restaurant was very nice, the menu seemed to be well thought out with the items available, as we were there for sunday brunch. ordered the corned beef hash, and it was out. so ordered the eggs benedict, and they were very average. overall, not impressed - but it has potential with some improvements.

Poor lady in the bar working alone. Looks like they need more help. It was quite busy and drinks came slow.

Service was a little bit slow as it took over 15 minutes to get water after asking for 2 minutes to decide on a drink but water to start would be appreciated. The tables across from us had a different server, seated way after us, and had drinks on the table within minutes of being seated. The food is always excellent at Oasthouse. Unfortunately, my steak came out dull and room temperature. It clearly had been sitting for too long while waiting for my husband's pork dish to be ready. Our server was extra busy (I assume) as she didn't check in very often. Once we finally saw her, we let her know that my meal was cool to the touch. She admitted that she noticed it had been sitting for awhile before she brought it over. Manager came over and made things better with vouchers for our next two visits. The refired entree was much much warmer. We will be back since the mistake was handled well, and we understand these things happen when it's busy.

I met a friend for dinner mid-week and it was perfect. The server was attentive, the food was great. and we could easily hear each other when we talked.

Came for brunch on a Sunday, enjoyed carafes of mimosas for the group. The food was great, I had the eggs in purgatory which was delicious, though the eggs were overdone for my liking. Our bartender/server Anthony (I think this was his name) was fantastic!

The food was all overly salted and I like salt a lot but that was too much. They opened the patio even though it was 36 degrees outside so basically it was cold the entire time inside from them not putting the heaters on outside at all. Extremely loud environment not a good place to be intimate with dining .

The waiter took long at times , not as attentive as the other waiters. Also some of the food was cold. Took it back , came back with fresh food and it was cold yet again. Overall I give a 5 out of 10.

We had a great family meal after going to Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center's Luminations walking tour during the holidays. Very cheery and fun atmosphere with excellent food and service.

Took our elderly father in law to dinner. Asked for a quiet spot and they set us up away from all the noise, so he could hear well. We were all surprised at the quality of the food. Mussels were great. Chicken schnitzel was good. Sheppard’s Pie was very tasty, and fish & chips were good. I see very positive reviews and very negative ones. Our experience was good. We will be back.

Oasthouse is dependably good. It's great for families and it's a wonderful place for when you have visitors. There are minimal options that provide dependable comfort food with a play option for kids. The food, itself, is enough to draw a crowd and consistent business; having a play option is another bonus.

A little disappointed that Oasthouse has become so much more casual. Food and service were good, so this review is more for dress/expectation than to dissuade going there. I didn’t remember staff in jeans and paper menus when I went last time. *The paper coasters on the plates are NOT available items. Don’t be tricked- they are recycling menus but cut out retired menu items perfectly and lay them on plates to bring out condiments, etc. Ignore them! These are not available items! Server couldn’t have been kinder and more accommodating.

Had an amazing meal and great service. Our only complaint is the stools at the high top tables. They already aren’t the most comfortable or safest seats for families but the fact that they’re backless makes it even worse. Just be sure to request a table not high top and you’ll be good!
