Made a reservation online not knowing there was a band and special menu. The band was obscenely loud, so we had to sit outside and even w heaters it was chilly. Menu and food was not nearly as good as usual. We loved coming here but now might have to reconsider.

I will never go back there.Oneperson in our party dinner came 15 minutes after the rest. My chicken penne had a lot of green sauce and no chicken. Was very disappointed especially since it was recommended by someone prominent in the community.

We had a wonderful experience - there was a live band so we couldn’t really talk so we just enjoyed it and sang along. Our waiter was very nice but there was a mix up - still, he was kind and got it taken care of. My dinner was really delicious - I got the salmon plate. My husband got gnocchi and wanted a little more flavorful sauce. Still in all we had a wonderful evening!!

Convenient parking; seated earlier than reservation time. Free sour dough bread on arrival. Expansive Italian menu. Service was attentive and not intrusive. Delicious vegetarian lentil soup and arugula salad as appetizers. Entrees of Blue Crab with homemade pasta and beef stroganoff were amazing with appropriate portions. Great place to eat before going to concert in Thousand Oaks!

We went on Saturday and the staff was fantastic, bread and Tuscany salad were very good but the main dishes were so bad we could not eat them. Ordered the halibut and chicken Madeira. The halibut was soggy and mushy and both dishes had salty goopy sauces that resembled Campbells condensed soup. Took one bite and could not gag down another bite. They need to taste their own food before serving. We had planned on ordering chicken parm but we were told that when they have live entertainment they don’t serve chicken parm because it is too time consuming.

Love Novo Cafe. Happy hour is amazing. Food in tasty. Service is great. However, once the performer starts singing, it becomes very noisy. I finally figured out that the remedy would be to sit in the back of the restaurant. That will be my request for the next time.

The food was amazing but the service was extremely slow. Although we were talking and enjoying the company we were with, our waiter did not come to check on us or take our order for quite some time. We also had an issue where they were cleaning a table next to us with some kind of a solvent that smelled terrible, and before we left, something was burnt in the kitchen so badly that we had to leave the restaurant due to the smell.

Food was good but service was inattentive and slow. There weren’t many people at the time, but our request to see the wine menu wasn’t followed up on and we couldn’t find our waitress. She was nice and apologetic, but there were many servers and only 5 or so tables. We got more wine elsewhere.

I LOVE this place! The food is so good. Pizza is amazing. Salads are delicious and the two meat dishes we had were exceptional! Meeting the owner was a treat. He stops by the table and says hello and talks to his guests. We have been twice now during the holidays. Such a great place!!!!

Restaurant reserved table for 2 instead of table for 4 per reservation. Had to wait 20 min for table as a result. Waiter placed incorrect order for one person in our party who had to wait 20 min. for replacement meal. Another person received her meal 15 min. after rest of the table. Sound level in restaurant was extremely loud. It appeared that restaurant overbooked and did not have wait staff to support it. Owner did his best to rectify the situation.

This place has some very good points, and a few that need improvement. They have a 40% discount on food and drink before 6 pm most nights. That is really a great deal. The service was a bit spotty, but overall acceptable. Salads were delicious. My salmon dish was good EXCEPT the one thing I hate...which is when salmon tastes "fishy", which this did. It means it wasn't really fresh. Prepared nicely, but made the dish not that great. Friend I was with had the halibut, which came in a heavy sauce, if sauce had been on a side bowl (which is how the salmon was served) would have been better. It was really drowning in sauce and a bit rich for her. Piano player (really a keyboard....but same effect) was nice, although we were seated a bit too close. All in all, I'd try it again, and order one of their pasta dishes in hopes it would be better prepared. Salads were big thumbs up though.

Live music on Friday night, great classics and just loud enough to still have a normal conversation at the table. Loved the food and the service was very attentive. Pasta with clams, Lasagna and the Chicken Parmesan were all delicious. We'll be back.

The pasta was fantastic! Service was excellent and the desserts are delicious. We enjoyed the Happy Hour pricing and that was a pleasant surprise for us. The outdoor patio is lovely. I highly recommend Novo Cafe and we will be back to try the breakfast menu.

We have always been a fan of Novo, but we were there last night with a oarty of 8 and the food just wasn’t as good. Salmon and potatoes were over cooked and everything was just ok. Hoping we hit a bad night as we want them to stick around

I was looking forward to trying this restaurant. We were sat in a rush but didn’t have a server come to our table for at least 15 minutes after we were sat. Then the busing staff brought us water and silverware. It took another 10 minutes for someone to come up to ask us if we wanted anything to drink or if we were ready to order. The whole night continued that way. although our server was very sweet, the service and timing of the entire meal was a complete disappointment. The food was the same….. There was one gentleman that was walking around and talking to certain people that he was familiar with, but never once asked how things were for us. I will not return to this restaurant.

Excellent restaurant with early bird discount. Service was excellent by a young lady. Met our daughter who ordered a salad and glass of wine. I had lobster ravioli which was tasty and filling. My wife also had a healthy salad. Not crowded, but food and service weren5 stars.
