Located off of Sand Lake Road, along the city's famed "Restaurant Row", NORMAN’S was recently named as the TOP Florida Restaurant in 2024 by Southern Living Magazine, and one of the HOTTEST Restaurants in Orlando by Eater Miami! Norman Van Aken is a restaurateur, chef, author, and James Beard recipient of “Who’s Who in America" regarded as the “Founder” of New World Cuisine.”

Our restaurant offers a creative culinary and mixology experience, including an extensive wine list. We offer our main dining room, two private dining rooms, and our interior bar/lounge. Our elegant, covered Terrace offers alfresco dining, with live music on Friday nights, & a DJ on Friday/Saturday.

HAPPY HOUR Mon-Friday from 5:00- 7:00PM, specials on wines by the glass, wells/cocktails and various small plate creations.
DINING ROOM: Smart Casual/ Smart Dress- jackets are not required.... No Shorts, tanks tops, baseball caps, or flip flops

The bread was the best part of our meal. They try to be creative with their menu but it doesn’t matter if you use low quality ingredients and don’t cook the food well. We also had an issue with our bill. They brought us the bill and I then provided a credit card, when they came back to have me sign the receipt i was for $100 more than the bill I was given.t

We had to ask for everything 2-3: napkins, wine, wrong drink refill. Fish was sent back undercooked and never came back with the sides. Lamb was rare almost raw, was sent back to be cooked to medium but came back rare. We were overcharged for wine we did not get! We paid $700 for that mother's day dinner for 5 including 3 kids....NOT WORTH IT IT AT ALL FOR FOOD OR SERVICE!!!! WILL NOT GO VACK!

The staff was attentive, polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. Owner Norman stopped by our table not only for a “table touch” but also engaged in a friendly conversation and wished us a Happy Mothers Day (tomorrow’ Recommend the menu, everything things a creative flair and flavor.

Fabulous dining room, top service and very sophisticated ambiance. Value was good given the quality of the food. So fun to have dinner in the chef's Orlando restaurant after years of dining in his Coral Gables restaurant. We will return!

Another wonderful Norman’s experience. A new addition to the menu is the Miso Grouper. So good! Rock shrimp ceviche and Pork belly small plates are fantastic. Becca took great care of us . Shout out to Matthew for providing the perfect wine paring. We had a lovely evening.

Absolutely amazing experience! From Matthew our server to the Manager stopping by to say hello and wish me a happy birthday, to the flame, dessert table side and amazing unique cocktails! Everything was a 10 out of 10 experience definitely would go back again and again!

Very nice place. Food was great and I expected it to be. What I didn’t expect was the service. Few restaurants anymore know what great service is but they nailed it. Their approach is well thought out and well executed.

We we were seated on the patio as it was said to be wonderful. However it was the noisiest meal. Right next to a major intersection. We were seated at 6:30 and did not have our main till 8:30. They apologized but still. Dessert waitress was snarky.

Overpriced and underdelivered. Fish was over cooked. Octopus salty. Service is great but a standard 20% tip excessive. Kitchen needs to step up its game.

If you like oysters, don’t even hesitate about ordering them. They were so great!!! The best ones I’ve had in a long time!! Service is really nice and they were kind enough to give me a complimentary drink and small dessert for my bday:) Mushroom risotto and beef tataki was excellent!

Outstanding!! When we arrived we opted to forgo our table and sit at the bar - because we are bar people at heart. . . Shout out to bartender Jeremy for providing us table service at the bar and another shout out to Christian the Somm for not missing a beat in providing us stellar wine service at the bar and even sharing a special taste with us. The food was superb - recommendations were on point. It's especially fun when everyone recognizes your passion for excellent food and wine no matter where you sit! Excellent job Norman's - we will be back!!

Overall a good experience. Restaurant was not very crowded so it was nice and quiet. Service was great for the most part. Food fell a bit short, nothing was outstanding and felt a little overpriced.

If you are planning a special dinner for any reason at all, Norman's is your place. The service was impeccable from the moment we came in the door. Our server Chris was engaging and present but not intrusive and made wonderful suggestions. Pedro did a beautiful job orienting us to the olive oil with herbs for the focaccia. And we very much appreciated that the Chef de Cuisine dropped by to congratulate my friend on her new job that we were celebrating. I wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Norman’s was always a favorite of ours but I feel that since the move to the new location it just has never regained the food standard and atmosphere it had before. Value for money it is just not there anymore

The food is outstanding. Classic dishes with creative twists. This was my second time at Norman’s and have had great experiences both times. The scallops and fried green tomatoes are my favorites. Cocktails were pretty good but not great. Would probably do wine next time.

It was certainly a slow night at the restaurant for Thursday, but it actually worked out perfectly for us because we felt like we were the center of attention! Our waiter was amazing, attentive, knowledgeable, and overall wonderful. The drinks were fantastic and the food was amazing. I just wish I took pictures to post on here as well. We will definitely be back!

Service by far was top-tier. The food however, was very mediocre. Mid. The flavors combinations of the fusion dishes are confusing to the palate and don’t necessarily complement each other well. The dishes came out at room temperature, and for the price I expected them to be spectacular. They were not.

The restaurant was exactly what I thought it would be. My husband and I were frequent diners at Norman’s at Ritz Carlton Orlando and it was just as great as we expected. We definitely will return soon.

For a 5 star restaurant? Totally disappointed. Should have known better when the restaurant was half empty on a Friday night at 745 pm .

Becca, our server, and her husband, the sommelier, were excellent and so were the food and drinks. I love it At Norman’s, but the hostess has been there the last two times I have been there and she seems oblivious to what is going on. She seems to mumble and is unclear of the way things operate. She is not very efficient.

Great appetizers green tomatoes were great. Entrees filet was fantastic along with the lamb and red snapper. Desserts were the highlight some of the best e have had anywhere. Crème Brulet was magnificent along with the baked Alaska.

Great night with customers. Norman’s staff was super attentive and everyone enjoyed the food and the experience. They make a Great old fashioned with angels envy rye!!

This great experience started with the complementary valet parking. The staff was very attentive and took time to explain the menu to us and our birthday girl, our 19 year old granddaughter. They recommended several special items and the all were excellent. The food service was outstanding as usual, creating a lifetime memory for our granddaughter.

Positives: Service was excellent, appreciated the tableside olive oil arrangement and attentiveness to cleaning up bread crumbs. Timing of courses was also well executed. Ambiance of the dining room was nice and quiet, perfect for a romantic dinner. Also had an extensive wine list with a decent selection at all price ranges. Negatives: The food itself was unfortunately a letdown. Overall, the dishes felt confusing and lacked cohesion. The scallop entree was not fresh and did not complement the fermented black bean sauce, our foie gras lacked any distinctive flavor and also did not mix well with the fruity sauce accompanying it. Short rib risotto was overly salty and dry. Lastly our octopus appetizer was tiny in portion size, especially for the price. Considering Norman's charges prices equivalent to some Michelin starred restaurants, we expected the food to live up to the same standard and unfortunately that's where it failed. We expected much more, given all the positive reviews we found online but left the venue wholly unimpressed.

I missed going to Normans when it was at the Ritz so waited too long to visit the new location. The service is top notch. The food is glorious. The restaurant is beautiful. Dinner was pricey but worth the wonderful evening out. Yes, I would definitely go again and worth the 2 hour drive. The blue crab bignets were really good but the Yucca shrimp are over the top and IMHO the best item of the evening. The filet, lobster mac and mushrooms are the perfect trio. Loved every bite including the baked alaska.
