The food was ok, nothing special. Cullen Skink was more like a Béchamel thick sauce. But other food was ok. The service was bad. The waitress told us it’s a hassle to get us sauces (ketchup mayo) ignored us and it took forever to get our order in. Nobody checked on us and then they applied a service charge at the end, which we simply didn’t want to pay because the service was bad.

Menu adequate. Drinks service very slow had to ask for them again. Food service even slower. Eventually asked where our order was .. 2 mins the reply.. not true. Complimentary drink offered and accepted. Food very average. Too many other venues to eat in in Edinburgh. Won’t visit again. Need to do better!

Perfect Sunday lunch especially for me as a vegetarian and the bar staff were so kind to my 93 year old mum. Great experience!

Lovely staff but slow service on Sunday. Not normally a problem But thanks for your attention that day, I know you struggled but we still enjoyed ourselves

The staff was super, food was amazing! My cullen skink soup could have come a little bit hotter mainly because we have to wait for the others to have their plates on the table. But overall everything was perfect!😍

I love Nobles, it’s a great Leith institution and they updated the menu a few months back and it’s really good - hard to make a choice re what to order. However there’s a few things they could do to take it from very good to excellent - the Sunday roasts could for sure be a little more generous - the portions / the selection of veg sides are a little stingy, and have things like Horseradish in stock - it’s fairly standard….And both the service (an occasional smile would be nice) and the venue could be warmer (utilise your lovely fireplaces!) It was a nice long lunch with friends and the bloody Mary’s were excellent but a few tweaks would really make it a great choice for a cosy Sunday afternoon.

This was a new find for us. Easy to find and get to on the tram system. We arrived early but the friendly staff quickly found us a table. The food and service were excellent. I was a little concerned by some of the recent reviews but our experience was first class. The interior and atmosphere here was great. The beer (a Hazy IPA) was perfect for a pre-match warm up. We won’t hesitate to come back here. Food, service, location all first class.

Really lovely bar/restaurant - full of character. Staff really friendly and helpful and thoroughly enjoyed our food and drinks. Music in the background for atmosphere and not so loud that you couldn't enjoy a relaxing meal or drinks. Look forward to our next visit :)

Really nice atmosphere and lovely staff. However, the veggie breakfast was dry and a bit cold. Eggs were overcooked and not runny. Toast came without butter - but they did bring some on request. Shame that the food did not live up to the vibe and the staff :)

Nice bar/restaurant with a good atmosphere that wasn't too noisy. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Food was nice but I wouldn't rush back. Menu was a bit uninspiring. Do a decent cocktail. I was sat on a bench at our table and it was pretty uncomfortable but all in all not a bad spot.

Great brunch. Lovely open dining space in a classic bar. Staff were very accommodating and food was delicious we had full breakfast, vegan breakfast and eggs Benedict.

We really enjoyed the lovely brunch food and cocktails and it was nice to arrive in such a cosy bar on a winter day but sadly by the time we left the fire had gone out and the bar was getting chilly. Service could have been a bit better as we were seated quickly but then not given any menus and then had to flag down a waiter to get our order taken. No one checked back to see if we were happy with our food and again we had to attract the attention of a waiter and ask for a second round of drinks. We were not offered the option of desert or coffee which we may well have had if it had been offered. Overall though we did enjoy our meal and we would come back.

Best Blooody Mary we've had in ages & both the full Scottish & Eggs Benedict with black pudding were beautifully cooked ! Service was super friendly and attentive. Will def be back soon ! So good that the tram stops just outside now too !

The food was exceptional, creative, and well-portioned, which is the part we enjoyed the most. Good service and drinks choice. The only downside I would mention is the temperature; as we entered, it felt a little bit on the chilly side - still bearable. The toilet, however, was absolutely freezing, so the only thing I'd say is to turn on the heating lol

We arrived a few minutes late. One of the two servers working greeted us still and sat us right away. Seemed like a good vibe. Then the menus came late. We were missing a page of the menu, so our server gave us another menu and it took another 5-10 minutes before she came back. Our drink and dinner order was taken at the same time. Our food arrived first after 20 more minutes. Our drinks didn't arrive until we were a minute away from finishing our meals. Then when we left after paying for our meals and a mandatory 10% service charge, our server didn't even say thank you or goodbye or apologize for the poor service. The other waitress that was there did when she brought us our food.

Had a lovely meal and bottle of wine here. Food excellent and well priced. Service very good - bar is lovely. We got a cosy table next to fire. Highly recommend a visit here.

Love Nobles. Service with a smile and great atmosphere. Food wasn’t quite up to scratch this time, which can happen. Biggest beef was with, the roast beef, which was overly-well done and tough. Slight grumbles with the ‘roasted’ potatoes (deep fried) and the poached pear ‘crumble’ (pear coated in crushed digestive biscuits). We’ll be back though

We had lovely service in Nobles, and it's always a nice cosy place to visit. The starter with beetroot / goat's cheese was delicious - and the croquettes also got good reports from my family. The mains felt like they were lacking something. Venison burger is served with chips which were a small portion and looked a bit lonely on the plate. A bit of salad / coleslaw / etc would feel like you are getting a bit more for your money. The only sides that appeared to be on offer were chips - for bistro style food it would be lovely if some potatoes and veg were on offer also. My mum felt the salmon / risotto was a little lacking in seasoning / something extra flavour wise. The food overall is good but it just needs a little something to elevate it to the standard Nobles is aspiring too. Our servers were lovely and friendly.

Loved the food- really delicious. Service was a little slow but it was a really busy brunch period on a weekend just before Christmas so could totally be understood- staff were super friendly. Lovely atmosphere with such a difference mix of people visiting the cafe bar.

I had dinner with 5 others. It did not get off to a great start to be told one of the veggie mains was off the menu, leaving only one veggie main option. And half the group was vegetarian. And stocks of red wine were low, oh no! However the service was lovely, the food was superb. We had seafood chowder, beetroot and goats cheese salad and croquettes to start. Main courses were the aubergine with dukkha, beef bourgignone, and warm salads with fries and a burger. One of the best meals I have had in a while. Beautiful building. Not noisy, easy to have a good chat. I'll go again.

Decor is cute, kind of bright, airy, old-timey pub vibes. But food and service were just ok. They were out of fish and chips at 5pm, which I guess happens. The Sunday Roast my partner had was good, my burger was ok. Drinks were so-so which may have just been a mistake, or maybe the B team was there. Overall we wanted to like it a lot more than we did, but not the worst you can do in a pinch! Leith as a neighborhood is great!

We went to Nobles for a family, pre-theatre lunch. It was our first time, and we will definitely be back. The interior had lovely wood panelling and artwork/photos, and the staff were very friendly. The food was delicious, cooked by the lovely Sultana. The location was handy for us as we were staying at Malmaison at The Shore, and then it was a short taxi ride into the city centre for a show :):)

Main course (pork belly and steak frites) was served cold and had to be done again plates not warm. Limited and dull menu. Wine choice poor. Cocktails were weak and too sweet.
