Tomahawk Tasting

**We accept tomahawk steak and tasting requests until 1:30 PM. The reservation might be canceled by the restaurant if booked on the same day after 1:30 PM. Tomahawk Tasting Menu is a prefixed 9 coursed menu that features a 46 oz tomahawk steak that is flambéed table side to add rich flavors and a beautiful sear. The tomahawk tasting menu has 3 different tiers and the price point is suggested for 2 guests per tasting menu. Each tomahawk steak feeds up to 2-3 guests. If you have a party of 4 or more, we suggest reserving an additional tomahawk steak. **We charge $150 per tomahawk steak for no shows and last minute cancellations (within 24 hours of the reservation).

Wagyu Tallow Shishito Peppers
Blistered shishito peppers cooked in yakiniku sauce and wagyu tallow, topped with bonito flakes.
Wagyu Oxtail Potstickers
Braised oxtail with yakiniku sauce and karashi Japanese mustard.
Chimichurri Bone Marrow
Roasted bone marrow topped with wagyu rib cap and umeboshi chimichurri, served with shokupan milk toast.
Dashi Yukke Soup
Jidori egg, chili pepper, and bean sprouts in a dashi yukke broth.

Definitely one of the best restaurants I've been to. Everything from the layout, staff, and food is why this is a Michelin rated restaurant. If there is a place you want to go once a year to splurge this is it. Thank you NIKU x for the great time!!!

The food was great. The service overall didn’t click. It felt like no one was communicating. Food quality didn’t match the level of service. Had to ask for the table to be wiped down, was dirty when we showed up. Ask if it was associated with Niku in SF and got a yes and no from two different ppl. Good runner and server were bunching up on each tower and had trouble explaining the courses. Bar manger was great.

Highly recommended in all aspects. From the service, ambiance, meat quality, preparation to little details to enhance our experience, this place is nothing but top notch. All the staff we encountered were friendly, professional and passionate about us having a great experience. We love the flexibility of having both a la carte and tasting menus available. The food is absolutely delicious.

The food and drinks were amazing, and the service was incredible. Emily our server was very knowledgeable and recommended the best dishes and provided outstanding service. Alongside our server, the runners were also very descriptive and made sure to let us know about every single detail/ingredient on our dish. Our cocktails were amazing and paired well with our delicious, rich wagyu dishes.

I did not make this reservation I specifically asked OpenTable to remove this reservation from my account and that I didn't want to get spam about this restaurant again I called the restaurant NIKU X to notify them that someone was using my email erroneously and not to email me again. Yet I am still getting messages about this "reservation"

Ok so- we were 10 minutes late to our reservation (we also tried to call ahead as we understood the traffic situation- and they don’t answer the phone… so I also sent a message via open table to let them know we are running late. It’s my third time dining here - the first time was incredible. The second was great. The third is … well Our reservation was for 9:15. We parked by 9:22 and went right up stairs. By 10:05 we were seated at a communal table. - not a preference for myself and my wife. So that means they had us sit in the lobby for 38 minutes. And then they found a “VIP” table in the back. The view of baby seat storage and the exit sign. By 10:20 we were able to order food. But by then they had run out of all large format steaks (kind of the reason to go here- the Porter house is good. The t Bone is some how bettter. ) By 10:30 the courses were flying at us. - we had mentioned to our kind server that we had two small kids (one is 7 weeks old) and that we weren’t planning on being out this late so he may have over achieved. Sending sides out before appetizers and mains before starters it was fine. Food is food. But the rushed experience at NIKU X while waiting for essentially 50 minutes after reservation start time to get a table… only to spend 700$ on dinner for 2… the experience was at the minimum sub par - maximum appalling. Every place has its day. But I was a devout fan of this place until tonight.

Food was amazing. Experience was absolutely worth it. The service was exceptional and so welcoming. Love how they inform you of each tasting course. The full blood steak wagyu steak was delicious and so full of flavor. Definitely will visit again.
