Luxury takes root in the heart of Austin at Nido, bringing the charm of the area together with the culinary techniques of coastal Europe, all perched above Lady Bird Lake and the energetic cityscape.

Nido is located on the rooftop of The Loren at Lady Bird Lake - recently named by Conde Nast Traveller and Travel & Leisure Magazine as "one of the hottest hotel openings in the world." Nido nods to the surrounding and native Hill Country, giving diners a one-of-a-kind respite to experience worldly-travel through food. Nido’s selection of carefully crafted, seasonal menus are internationally-inspired with a focus on classical technique.

Reservations are available for inside the dining room and the dining tables in the bar. Lounge seating is available on a walk in basis in the bar and on the terrace for drinks and snacks.

Good view but overpriced mediocre hotel food. Very limited choices as well. I’m not sure why they have a brunch menu when it’s just their regular breakfast and lunch menu.

They made our special day more memorable! The view of downtown Austin was only surpassed by the attentive staff and delicious food. We had the oysters, bluefin crado, barrata, cod and ribeye. The cocktails were well crafted. Most certainly a special day venue.

We loved our experience at Nido, especially after a spot freed up on the patio and we moved our meal out there. Truly has to be one of the best dinner views in the whole town. Our waiter Frank was fantastic and really helped to elevate the experience. We were there for our 25th wedding anniversary, and we couldn’t have picked a better spot to celebrate. Kudos to Frank and the rest of the Nido team on a job well done!

I had requested online and called for a candle to be delivered for dessert for a birthday celebration. Was told that it's "kind of their thing to do" and will make it happen. Convinced my date to have dessert for the surprise, but it did not deliver. Really bummed and disappointed for the price i paid for the meal and offered to pay anything extra for that to happen. One and done at this place for me personally.

It was my first time here and basically, Nido just hit all the spot! Everything was really good. I ate by myself and they gave me the window seat. I love it!

Wow first time I’ve ever been let down at what was in top rotation I’m dining in. The bread was good still. I can sense the care for quality has slipped.

I read about this restaurant being one of Austin's best, so my girlfriend and I decided to see if we agreed. We do. The decor was terrific, the staff was very attentive, and everyone made us feel welcome. The food was delicious, and I felt the prices were not outrageous for the quality of the dishes. Not many restaurants have an awesome downtown view comparable to this one's. I recommend it!

I had a birthday lunch here with my older daughter. The weather was nice enough to eat out on the deck. The 180 degree view including downtown is the best in Austin. Our server, Carter, was excellent and we appreciated his recommendations. The tuna tartare was delicious with just the right amount of fixings to enhance but not interfere with the tuna. We will be back.

We’ve been recommended this place for the views and ambience. The food is good, but I think having tableclothes, or at least not putting cuttlery directly to the table is something very basic at this level. Furthermore, the menu could be a bit clearer, if it’s just keywords, then it’s too many of them and if you should either explain in the menu what exactly your food is, or have way less keywords. The desserts are mostly ice creams or things you can buy in a grocery store. I was looking forward to have a nice dessert but decided not to have any. Neither sundae nore cookie is the level I’m expecting and if you say pistacchio cake but then put the word espresso as well, at leqst explain what can I expect. The views are great and the food was good.

The restaurant is absolutely beautiful and the patio is the star of the show - we felt lucky to bet able to sit outside on a gorgeous spring evening. The service was friendly, prompt and professional. The food - pretty disappointing actually. We had the crudo (fine but nothing special), the burrata (this was good but needed a bit of salt to bring out the flavor of the burrata, and there was none on the table. would have LOVED a beefsteak tomato with it), fries (great, but you know, fries) and the Cod. The cod was cooked perfectly but lacked interesting flavor, and was lukewarm, quickly becoming cold. Was served on a finely shredded bed of carrots and I think cabbage, which for me really brought down the entire dish. It just seemed like cheap slaw and didn't have the right texture to accompany the fish. The corn crisp that topped the dish made for impressive presentation, but it was so incredibly salty that it was inedible, and even when used to "salt" the rest of the meal it was way, way too salty. We'd had high hopes for Nido but the meal was pretty disappointing for almost $200. Also, there were very few options for gluten-free, so the menu became quite limiting (and no avail substitutions). Bummer. Go for the view and cocktails, maybe skip dinner.

We ate outside, gorgeous view, but couches and chairs too low for comfortable lunch. It was a birthday lunch so being outside was important, but now we know.

The best oysters I've ever had... beating top seafood spots in Boston, Portland, and San Francisco area. They also were generous enough to start us of with complimentary bubbly to celebrate our anniversary. Artichoke flatbread was also really good. The rest of the meal was just okay for the price tag. The sauce with the Branzino was overly salted, the fries weren't anything special for $11, and the prosciutto turnips were overpowered by the amount of prosciutto.

Service was excellent, as usual. However, the breakfast potatoes were mostly burnt; we sent them back, and the replacement potatoes were better, but still had burnt pieces among them. Surprising.

Good location and setup with lots of potential. Sadly the only place you can enjoy a relaxing time is outside in the terrace. The hostess did advise us however if we chose a sofa along the wall close to the bar it is known to be quite loud and that it was. Food is overpriced as expected for a downtown rooftop. Bathrooms are shared which may not be welcomed by high paying clientele but that's trivial. All things considered it was a good experience I just expected a bit more for being a new spot along the river.
