We are a farm to table fine dining restaurant in an elegant setting with fabulous views of the surrounding mountains. The 4-course price fixed dinner menu ($95.00 per person, tax and gratuity not included) and 3 course brunch menu ($45.00 per person, tax and gratuity not included ) that changes monthly and focuses on regional seasonal ingredients many of which come from our organic garden. Aaron Edwards is extraordinarily gifted in the culinary arts. Each item on every plate is uniquely prepared in an innovative way to deliver maximum sensual pleasure in both taste and appearance. With our friendly professional servers, incredibly beautiful setting and amazing food this is way more than fine dining. It's a true dining experience! Our Menu changes monthly based on what is available and in season at the time. Feel free to call us anytime and we can tell you exactly what is on the menu for that week.

Newsman’s was one of the nicest restaurant experiences I’ve ever had. It was Mother’s Day we had a lovely table with a view of NCs fabulous natural beauty. Our server was so enthusiastic about the menu and her suggestions were spot on. Everyone enjoyed their menu choices and cleaned their plates. We’ve been wanting to try this place for a while but found it difficult to get a reservation, now we know why. We will be back!

Sat, May 11 the quality of both the main entry beef and lamb was decidedly below both our expectations and what we believe to be the standard for Newman's. Otherwise our experience was top notch. This has always been our most preferred "go to" restaurant but the main entry beef and lamb were barely acceptable.

Newman's Restaurant at the Orchard Inn is just a very special place. We have stayed there. We have dined there. We have taken friends there. We have run into friends there. We have enjoyed getting to know the owners and the staff. We look forward to our next visit as soon as we leave. It's about a 45 minute drive from our home, or we'd be there more often. The setting is exceptional - reminding us of Country Inns in New England. The views are delightful - especially from the veranda expansion put in several years ago. The staff is friendly - the pace is not rushed - the food is outstanding.

Restaurant and setting is outstanding! Food is excellent. I loved the entry way with the fire going and the comfortable seating area. It makes you feel relaxed and welcome. The only reason I didn't mark 5 stars for everything is because I am a bit more critical for an expensive restaurant and because we felt the courses were a bit rushed until desert. At that course the waitress thought we had already been served desert and we had to ask for it. But I will definitely go again!

It was such a nice evening to celebrate our 42nd wedding anniversary. The atmosphere was so peaceful, watching the birds on the feeders was so pleasant, our server Lynn was personable, friendly and fun! The courses were spaced out beautifully so you had time to enjoy each one, portions were just right! My filet was cooked perfectly as well as my husband’s lamb chops. My only recommendation would be please add mint jelly with your lamb entrees. It was so nice to have a quiet environment to enjoy dinner, we sat inside. Will probably try the terrace next time.

The appetizers and main courses were good. The desserts on the other hand need work: the apple strudel was very dry and the ice cream special, not so much. When asking for a table with a view, specify the original dining porch. Otherwise, and in winter, you will be sent to the addition which only provides a view above the railings thanks to the plastic weather protectors. For the money it is a pleasant Sunday Brunch experience.

Newman's is a truly magical dinner experience ... the vista views from every table are so beautiful and the food is really high quality. Our server was attentive and really went above and beyond. Newman's is the where you go for a romantic, relaxing, NC Mountain Magic dinner!

Overall, this a very good dining experience. Our server, Lynn, did an excellent job and the bartender made several excellent drinks to include, an Old Fashioned and an Expresso Martini. I recommend the Viennese Strudel for desert.
