A guest favorite for casual dining, Nelson’s is perched directly above the ocean coves made famous by the 1950s television series Sea Hunt – from which this modern surf shack takes its name. The cliff-top eatery pays homage to Sea Hunt’s main character, Mike Nelson, as well as actor Lloyd Bridges’ lifetime efforts to protect the environment and the ocean. Guests enjoy coastal cuisine and a warm, friendly bar atmosphere surrounded by outdoor fire pits and unrivalled sunset views. This Southern California restaurant offers one of the most scenic locations in Palos Verdes to enjoy a meal or drink in a relaxed setting.

The Connecticut lobster roll was amazing, the ocean view was spectacular and our server, Amanda, was the absolute best!

What a beautiful day and location! Service was good but slowed down after we got our food. It wasn’t a problem since we weren’t in a hurry. They got busy and probably could have used more help. Definitely want to come back!!

The food was mediocre at best. The wings were tough and soaked in buffalo sauce. We ordered the swordfish tacos and both orders had small chunks of dry overcooked swordfish. For the children we ordered pasta and butter. The bow tie pasta was overcooked and stiff. Some of them were browned (?) We did have a great waitress who was attentive and apologetic taking the wings off the bill.

Went for a date night. Such a lovely view. Very friendly and attentive staff. Food was yummy! Will definitely come back again.

Nice location. Nelson’s is a little walk away away but enjoyed it. The ambience is great as well as the scenery. The food is priced higher as expected. Quality of food wasn’t the best. I ordered the skirt stake sandwich and it was terrible. It the chewiest thing ever, impossible to eat… I thought I was going choke on it.Service is good. I also liked that we had a heat lamp.

What great service, incredible view and wonderful food. Accommodated my 98 yo & 96 yo friends extremely well. Views were amazing. We all had seafood Cobb salad and key lime pie. All were fantastic

Great service and wonderful food. The afternoon was topped off by the school of dolphins that came by to put on a show.

It's such a lovely, one-of-a-kind spot, overlooking the ocean. It's very casual with kids, dogs, high chairs, and often windy but it's a fun vibe and the food is pretty good.
