One of the oldest and most historic bars in the country, Neir’s Tavern is a destination for a casual drink, a hearty meal, and good company. Over 180 years old, Neir’s was home to Mae West’s first performance, scenes from Goodfellas, and countless other remarkable moments in history. Today, it still holds up to the same charming, laid-back, neighborhood bar that holds a special place in New Yorkers’ hearts.

Went for free bingo game night, and ate before we started. Food was great as always, waitstaff was very attentive and atmosphere was energetic and fun. Everyone had a great time.

Absolutely great place, owner was very welcoming, food and drinks very good, a nostalgic treat for any fans of the movie‘Goodfellas’.

My friend and I went out to Neir's Tavern last night to catch the Comedy Show. We really enjoyed our burgers (mine was just a cheeseburger, his was the God Father) and the Belgium style mashed potatoes were delicious! Hate to say it, but the Cosmos were more strong, than tasty. Maybe work on that a bit?? Ambience was good, lively for a Comedy night. I'd go back!

I'm a frequent visitor to Neir's Tavern. They have lots of monthly events and there's never a cover charge! You may walk in a stranger, but you'll leave as a friend!

My brother had a fun birthday dinner with his friends! The food and service were excellent. The hospitality was top-notch. It was quiet when we were there. Only one other party of three and no one at the bar. The server was lovely, very helpful and pleasant. My burger was perfectly cooked (rare!) and everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.

What a night. Not only was the food great as usual, the atmosphere that night was off the charts. Neir’s always trying to bring new events to the restaurant knocked it out of the park with their podcast. Check their calendars for all of the events. You won’t be sorry

Overall good eating experience. The wait staff could have been a bit more attentive. They seem to be lacking hospitality skills. Would be back just don't know when.

I always enjoy dining at Neirs, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The drinks are outstanding, Goodfella burger is definitely the best. I especially enjoy karaoke on Saturdays! My favorite place in NY.

We went to Neir's for Bingo night. They have a lot of events (for free!) every month and we enjoy partaking in them . The people there are very friendly, both the staff and the patrons. Although it's a small local bar, newcomers are welcomed with open arms. I highly recommend Neir's Tavern.

Coming all the way from Amsterdam, the Netherlands, I read about Neir's tavern online and got excited. My visit to my uncle, who lives in Queens, started with a visit to Neir's Garden. We both took de 'Goodfellas' Burger, which was delicious! The fries were better than I tasted in Holland (a fries country). Good draft beers available. Very friendly staff. The atmosphere was that of a neighborhood bar, which I love. Beautiful bar on the outside and inside, by the way. Cherry on top were the comedians who performed on the tiny stage. I remember Shawn telling very funny stories.

Neir's Tavern has special events during the week and we attended A Night At The Races. Everyone had a blast! It was so much fun. Also food and service were terrific. Definitely pay a visit to Neir's any day of the week.

We enjoy going to Neir's Tavern. Food and service are very good. Our only issue is that even though we request a specific table or write that we are celebrating a special occasion, the restaurant says they only receive the table for 2 request. The table we wanted was available but the manager said they do not receive the request that we make. Why is there a place on Open Table to write a request but then it isn't honored because the restaurant is not informed about this?

The food was surprisingly tasty for a bar, served quickly with a friendly attitude. This iconic bar is one of the city's oldest. Glad it has been saved by owner Loycent Gordon and the community. Highly recommend a visit.

My family and I have ordered take out from Neir’s Tavern before but hadn’t had a chance to dine in. We were there today Sunday, April 16. I wanted to say the food and drinks were great and the gentleman who took care of us was excellent. We enjoyed the atmosphere and look forward to enjoying another time at this establishment. We are so happy they were able to keep this historic gem open.

Neirs Tavern never disappoints. Whether it’s karaoke, bingo, comedy night, game night, brunch or just to go have a drink you will have great service and great food and drinks. All the food is awesome but highly recommend the mac and cheese and the wings. You also can’t forget about the Goodfella burger.

I decided to come here after following on social media. The pictures and videos had me convinced I’d be in for a good time and I was. The staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fresh and hot when served. Everything came out in a timely manner. It wasn’t packed since it was a Monday night so the noise level was very low. I would definitely head back on a more active night to see the turn out but I’m sure I would prefer an off night.
