We are a neighborhood restaurant nestled in historic downtown Canton, specially at The Mill On Etowah. Nava creates its menu using the best of fresh, seasonal ingredients. Something has changed here. The inside was different and the menu totally different. We started with queso and chips. The queso is not their original version. It’s just basic now. My husband ordered a queso burger with fries. The burger was supposed to have queso, guacamole and onion. He asked for no onion. It came out with nothing on it but a slice of cheese. When we asked the waiter where the guacamole and queso was he tried to tell us the cheese slice was the queso and since the guacamole had onion in it they left it off. It’s not that my husband doesn’t like onion, he just didn’t want a big slab of it with it also being in the guacamole. Burger tasted premade and the fries were obviously the frozen version. So queso, chips, burger and fries, basic salad with 5 grilled shrimp (missing the advertised avocado), sweet tea and one mixed drink was over $75!!! We would have had a much better burger and salad somewhere else and ALOT cheaper. No longer worth the price.

The chips they served us taste rancid. We asked for another basket and the next basket tasted rancid as well. Never had chips that taste that bad.

First time here, very welcoming staff and friendly manager. The food was delicious, the nachos appetizer were great, I added chicken to it and it was amazing. My wife had some tacos, the best (she said). I’ll definitely be back, I live few miles away and this is going to be my go to joint.

The service was awful. It was busy due to an event on the green, but had to ask for things 3 or more times before receiving. Food order took forever. We were there almost 2 hours for chips, salsa and tostada salad. We saw people arrive after us who received drinks and food prior to ours. Food wasn’t as good as previously. Very disappointing. Probably would not return

Our server left us quite a bit and it wasn't busy at all. Our drinks became empty before she asked if we wanted a refill. We had a gift certificate, and we used most of it, there was only $6.18 left and they crossed out the original amount and wrote in $6.18 on the paper gift certificate....just tacky. For such a little amount give us the change. The place was way too expensive for us to go on a regular basis. Probably won't be back

Overall, very good service and ambiance. Ordered the chimichanga, which was great, and grouper taco, which were really just slaw tacos, since there was just a small couple pieces of fish, so didn’t get what we paid for.

They had a very limited mediocre menu. They need to take their food game to the next level or they are going to have a hard time. Great bar! Great margs! Great service!

It was my friends birthday. We made a reservation and loved our table. We had two wonderful servers and the drinks were perfection. All of our food was so good. The 5 of us were happy with our dishes. We will dine here again soon for sure.

The steak quesadillas are really good! You don’t get chips and salsa for free like a typical Mexican restaurant but you can order it. Their trio dip is really good.

Menu is pretty limited and restaurant was nearly empty on Fathers Day. After dining we understood why. We thought we were going in for upscale Mexican food but really the food was just average in taste, appearance, everything. Nothing upscale about any of it. My $25 enchiladas weren’t as good as the local food truck and same goes with everything else we ate. It was fine, just not great. But when you walk into a “nice” restaurant, you don’t expect a makeshift host station with napkins and crap covering the table, floor around it and just giving an appearance of dirty. Service was generally slow, empty drinks most of the meal, etc. Pricing is what is really off… you pay for chips and salsa, which comes out in the smallest portion you can imagine and the food is twice the price of a typical Mexican restaurant. But the food is average at best. Definitely not worth $100 for a family of four with 2 kids and no adult beverages.

7pm reservation for 2 outside, @ 7:20pm went back to hostess because no one had come to wait on us. 5 minutes later we had a waitress, ordered 2 waters, 1 drink, an app and the free chips. 10+ minutes passed and finally we had water, followed by my drink a few minutes later... 15 minutes more to finally get the appetizer...still no chips. Finally after another 20 min we received the chips and were able to order our main course (kind of). Side note: The splitting plate option for $6 is a great deal, they split the protein and u each get 2 sides. However... when we got our chicken kabobs and asked where our sides and tortillas were, the runner replied with "they are on their way." Nope... several more minutes pass before we can ask the waitress and then she comes back with only 1. Needless to say it would be several more minutes for the 2nd side to arrive. Refill on waters was also super slow. The closing out/payment part was probably the fastest service of the night. 2 hrs and 40 minutes for a party of 2 all caused by the service. The food is great but not sure with the service the way it is, it is worth it. I wish they would have been upfront if there was a staffing issues or new servers... that would have helped. We tipped our waitress 18% because we know most times it is not their fault... but it needs to be fixed which is my reason for leaving the LONG review.

We had a great time. Our server took great care of us. The only reason she didn’t get the extra star was while she was nice and polite, she just wasn’t super engaging. The food and drinks were wonderful as always. We had a shrimp quesadilla, fish tacos, and chicken tascada salad. We also had the trio of guacamole, cheese dip and subbed verde salsa for 3 pepper. It was all great. The cheese dip was a step up from your typical mexican restaurant. And the skinny coconut margarita was perfect, just wish it was bigger. lol One of my party enjoyed the pineapple margarita as well. This is easiest my favorite mexican restaurant in Canton and I love that they take reservations. I’ll be back.

Gave this a try after mixed reviews..for a sat night it was dead. Most of the tables were not cleared and the first two chairs I sat in were broken. Food was okay but not worth the price. Service was good and good selection of beers etc. will be surprised if this place lasts…hoping they can turn it around.

This is a hidden gem in plain site! Having a community venue right outside their doors makes this a great location when going to all kinds of events. The food is great especially the homemade guacamole! Just so many great choices. The only con to this restaurant is the noise level. The service is great! The prices are on par with other restaurants of this type. They even offer togo options since there are so many events in this location, as well as outdoor seating. We will definitely be going there again!

Food is overpriced and a bit bland. Bar service is fine for beer and wine but the signature cocktails lack depth and proper crafting. Nice looking place without much value or specialty in the menu. Plating is right out of the 80’s and no one should charge for chips and bland salsa. Please salt the food.

The food was good. Unfortunately, the waitress seemed buzzed, which left us wanting her not to touch our food or drink. The atmosphere is much more casual than the price would lead you to expect. The layout didn’t lend itself to much privacy either. In general it just felt overpriced for the experience.

Nava Taqueria is quickly becoming one of our favorite places to eat. The food is delicious and fresh, the service is great and the ambience is very nice. We enjoyed sitting on the patio on a lovely evening at The Mill on Etowah.

We finished our appetizer and meal and one of our party had never even received his first drink, not even a water. The waitress charged us for two drinks that we ordered - she brought one drink after we finished our meal (which wasn’t the drink that we ordered) and never brought the other. She put both drinks on our tab, but the manager took the drinks off.

The four of us thoroughly enjoyed our first visit to Nava Taqueria. From the hostess to our server to the manager, the customer service was perfect. The food was delivered to our table very quickly and was so fresh and delicious. We will definitely come back!
